Deep within the subconscious.

Vast computational power was surging at a geometric rate. Chu Chen kept his eyes closed, letting his thoughts construct a three-dimensional database within his mind.

The technical barriers that had once plagued him were being shattered with devastating force. Wang Shan’s control agent had become nourishment for his brain’s reorganization. Every external disturbance was being mapped and formed within his cerebral domain.

The immense computational power, freed from his sealed brain region, caused his body to begin trembling.

Before the Rift at the Western Sichuan base.

Bald Head endured countless attacks, shoving aside the Mutant Soldiers blocking his path.

He stared at Chu Chen lying on the ground.

“Take him.” Guangtou Qiang ordered.

Xu Zhen shook the blood from his hands. The green scales on his body were somewhat damaged.

“My men didn’t die for nothing. Leave the bald one here—Chu Chen belongs to us.” Xu Zhen bellowed.

The two factions collided once more. The Western Sichuan defense line was hanging by a thread.

Chen Mo held his chipped battle blade, blocking the gap in the defenses.

Lu Yuan crouched behind the sandbags, his Light-type Ability completely overdrawn, his entire arm hanging limp and unable to lift.

“Brother Chen, we can’t hold much longer. These freaks just won’t quit.” A fourth-rank veteran shouted through bloody spittle.

“Hold or not, we hold. Behind us is everything we’ve got.” Chen Mo wiped his face.

Boom!

The Rift at the center split wide open.

A tremendous suction force tore at the surrounding air.

A sour, rancid stench rushed forth.

A roar.

A deep, guttural beast’s cry echoed across the entire field. A three-headed demonic wolf of the third rank was the first to leap out of the Rift. Then came hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands. A pitch-black tide of Demonic Creatures poured out in a frenzy.

Within half a minute, over twenty thousand low-rank Demonic Creatures had flooded the entire outer perimeter of the base.

Guangtou Qiang smashed a Mutated Beast’s skull with one punch, then turned and cursed at Xu Zhen.

“You piece of trash, still fighting? Can’t you see the monsters are out?”

“You think I need you to teach me?” Xu Zhen swung his claws with both hands, hacking at the Demonic Creatures. The low-rank ones weren’t strong, but their numbers were simply overwhelming.

Just as the three-way battle reached its peak.

The violent energy at the center of the Rift suddenly stalled.

The chaotic battlefield fell into an abrupt, eerie silence. Everyone looked up at the Rift at the same time.

A fair, slender foot stepped out of the void.

It wore a strapped white high-heeled sandal, and the cherry-red toenails were jarringly conspicuous against the gray battlefield.

Then, a tall, graceful figure stepped forth.

She wore a flowing, smoke-gray gown, the fabric clinging to an impossibly perfect figure.

Her pure white hair was pinned up with a jade hairpin, the rest cascading down to her waist.

It was Lin Fan.

She hovered in midair, gazing down at the riddled, battered Western Sichuan base.

The flat training grounds were full of craters. The defensive fortifications had collapsed by more than half. Blood and chunks of flesh were smeared along the base of the walls. Every veteran was wounded.

Even more offensive to the eye were the mutated monsters and the puppet-like figures with blank white eyes roaming the base.

Lin Fan raised her eyelids.

“You’ve torn my territory apart like this—how exactly do you plan to die?”

There was no roar.

Her voice detonated in everyone’s ears. Those familiar with her knew that at this moment, Lin Fan was already on the edge of eruption.

On the ground, Xu Zhen sized up the woman in the air.

He swept his Mental Strength across her and detected that peak fifth-rank fluctuation.

He let out a derisive laugh.

“And here I thought it was someone important. All this grand spectacle, and it turns out you’re just a fifth-rank ornament.”

“Whoever you are, this is none of your business. Get lost now, or I’ll kill you too!” Xu Zhen pointed at Lin Fan and shouted.

But the bald man on the other side had completely changed expression.

The moment he recognized Lin Fan’s face and that striking head of white hair, every muscle in his body twitched.

That face was all too familiar to him.

Though she no longer had the dragon horns from back in the Kunlun Mountains, and her hair was longer now.

But that aloof, condescending bearing, along with that contradictory aura of both holiness and allure—it was exactly the same.

The bald man backed up two steps, his lips trembling.

“It’s… it’s her. The White-Haired Witch from Kunlun Mountain,” Guangtou Qiang muttered.

That was the monster who had single-handedly scared them shitless.

This woman could casually crush a peak Level 6 expert.

Xu Zhen didn’t recognize her?

Wasn’t she supposed to be the Death Guard’s secret weapon?

“Fall back. Everyone retreat!” The bald man didn’t have time to think. He didn’t dare bother with Chu Chen on the ground anymore.

Lin Fan paid no attention to the blustering.

Her eyes shifted. Mental Strength poured out.

The more than twenty thousand frenzied low-level demonic creatures below all stopped in perfect unison. The bloodthirsty red glow in their eyes faded completely, replaced by a dull gray light.

“Go. Tear those ugly things apart.” Lin Fan gave the order.

All twenty thousand demonic creatures turned around and charged toward Xu Zhen’s augmented human squad and Wang Shan’s Puppet Legion.

The pitch-black tidal wave of beasts engulfed them.

“How can a Level 5 control this many demonic creatures?” Xu Zhen’s face changed drastically. He swung his claws, slashing desperately.

“Shut up! If you want to die, don’t drag us down with you!” The bald man punched several demonic wolves away, frantically fighting his way out of the encirclement.

Lin Fan watched the augmented humans struggling below.

She had suppressed her cultivation to peak Level 5 earlier to pass through the spatial rift.

Now that she was through, there was no need to suppress it any longer.

She looked at the devastated base, and fury surged within her.

“These are all my property, and you dare—!!”

Lin Fan spread her arms wide, unleashing her Life Domain in full.

An invisible suction force radiated outward from her.

Across the wilderness for dozens of kilometers beyond the base’s perimeter, the withered weeds, stubborn shrubs, even the microorganisms in the soil—all were forcibly drained of their life force.

Visible green light converged from all directions, pouring endlessly into Lin Fan’s body.

Her aura, which had been at peak Level 5, began to skyrocket.

Crack. Broke through to Level 6.

In just two seconds, broke through to Level 7.

The green light grew brighter and brighter. The surrounding flora withered and turned to ash on a massive scale. Vast life energy filled the void left in her body from the stripping required to traverse the rift.

At the same time, overflowing green light fell upon the Sichuan defenders.

Chen Mo noticed that the wounds on his body were healing at an incredible speed.

The veterans around him also cried out in shock. Fatal penetrating wounds and broken bones were all regenerating under the nourishment of the green light.

“This is too bizarre. What new ability has this witch gotten now?” Lu Yuan touched his fully restored shoulder, dumbfounded.

An overwhelming pressure suddenly descended upon the ground.

Level 8 mid-stage.

Lin Fan had recovered to her absolute peak state.

This pressure carried the absolute dominance of a Legendary Lifeform.

Xu Zhen, still in the middle of fighting, felt his knees go weak and slammed heavily to the ground. Both knees cratered the concrete floor. His kneecaps shattered on the spot.

“Impossible. What level is this?” Xu Zhen gritted his molars, his face full of terror.

Even in the presence of that most powerful secret weapon, he had never felt such overwhelming pressure.

The seven augmented humans were pressed flat to the ground, vomiting chunks of their internal organs.

Bald Head’s side was equally brutal.

The mindless puppets were swept by the pressure and fell in droves, their bones cracking audibly.

Guangtou Qiang knelt half-crouched on the ground, sweat soaking through his entire body.

Only the defenders of Western Chuan showed no sign of abnormality.

Chen Mo dropped his broken blade, his eyes bloodshot. Staring at the woman descending from the sky like a deity, he shouted at the top of his lungs.

“Lei Jie is back. Brothers, Lei Jie has come to save us.”
