Skinwalker Belle – Chapter 414 – Chu Chen’s Reasoning

After an entire night, the spatial rift at the center of the training ground had completely closed.

The entire Western Sichuan Base was in the midst of a bustling post-war recovery.

The several hundred former Federal soldiers who had chosen to stay the night before had been properly settled and were now assisting the Western Sichuan veterans in clearing the rubble.

Collapsed barracks and shattered training grounds were all being methodically repaired and rebuilt.

Lin Fan stood at a high vantage point, watching the busy scene below, and nodded in satisfaction.

Not bad—professional soldiers really were a cut above the rest.

Thinking back to the Hangcheng Base, although she had personally led operations there and efficiency was far higher than at ordinary survivor outposts, compared to these soldiers trained under military discipline, the gap in execution was anything but small.

Lin Fan’s gaze swept across the crowd.

Among the workers were quite a few female logistics soldiers, some of whom were fairly pretty, with decent figures to match.

But Lin Fan only glanced once before looking away, with no intention whatsoever of making a move.

On one hand, since the Blue Star apocalypse had erupted, human survivors numbered less than one in ten of the original population.

For the Divine Kingdom she planned to build in the future, what she needed most was explosive population growth.

These living female soldiers were far more valuable kept alive to reproduce and create basic labor than being made into the lowest-grade Skins.

On the other hand, Lin Fan’s standards had long since been spoiled.

Ordinary, excellent, and even Perfect-grade Skins were now nothing but space-wasting junk to her.

Her only goal at the moment was to gather two hundred Epic-grade Skins as quickly as possible to fuse that Legendary-grade Long Xi.

So only women at level six or above, or those with rare talents, could catch her eye.

Anything below that standard was a waste of System Space.

She strolled all the way to the command center.

The door was wide open, and Chu Chen was already waiting inside.

Still with that dead-fish look, he was squatting on a swivel chair, a tablet in his hands as he swiped frantically, chewing on gummy candies the whole time.

Lin Fan walked over and pulled out a chair, about to start laying out the next course of action.

Chu Chen shoved the tablet across the table, sliding it in front of Lin Fan.

“Take a look.” Chu Chen said, chewing on his candy, his words slightly slurred.

Lin Fan looked down. The screen displayed three extremely detailed high-definition satellite topographic maps, with glaring red circles precisely marking several hidden coordinate points.

“What is this?” Lin Fan asked.

“Several core bases where Wang Shan and Chen Dingjun are likely deployed.” Chu Chen tapped his long fingers on the table. “I pulled the Federation’s material flow and energy consumption data from the past three years last night. After ruling out their fifty-seven decoy outposts out in the open, these three locations have the most abnormal energy thresholds and biological activity readings.”

Lin Fan raised an eyebrow.

That efficiency was indeed a bit terrifying.

“What other trump cards are they holding?”

“The specific secret weapons are still unclear for now.” Chu Chen pulled another piece of candy from his pocket and tore open the wrapper. “But Chen Dingjun is an extreme fanatic of Stitched Abominations. His laboratories have never stopped operating, so there’s no shortage of high-level Fusion Creatures under his command.”

Chu Chen lifted his eyelids and stared straight at Lin Fan.

“This trip of yours should yield a decent harvest. Based on my estimates, they should have quite a few high-level female Experimental Subjects in their hands.”

Lin Fan’s movements paused for a moment.

Her gaze sharpened as she stared directly at Chu Chen.

This guy actually knew she needed high-level females.

“How do you know I’m looking for high-level females?” Lin Fan’s voice turned cold.

Chu Chen was completely unfazed by her attitude. He shifted to squat on the other leg.

“With something like this, you just need to build a simple data model and analyze it to reach that conclusion.”

He raised one finger.

“Your ability mechanism is very unique—or rather, your core need is very clear. You can absorb and even perfectly fuse the abilities of different females, even their bloodlines.”

Chu Chen began to reason.

“When you first appeared at the Magic Capital defense line, you used extremely pure Mental Strength and flame-based abilities.”

“Later, when you arrived in Western Sichuan, Dragon horns grew on your head, and you carried obvious traits of a high-tier otherworldly Dragon Clan. The moment you released your mental pressure, a very clear phantom of a fox tail appeared behind you.”

Chu Chen spread his hands.

“It’s impossible for a carbon-based organism’s gene pool to simultaneously accommodate so many vastly different bloodline traits—unless your ability’s essence is plunder and stacking. Also, when I had Lu Yuan clean up the battlefield, I cross-checked those escaped Genetic Augments. The male bodies were all there, but the slightly weaker female augmented humans had all disappeared.”

Chu Chen looked at Lin Fan.

“That’s pretty easy to guess, isn’t it?”

Lin Fan leaned back in her chair, hands folded on her lap.

She genuinely had a newfound respect for this young man with dark circles under his eyes.

Using only fragments of battle reports and external observations he’d seen in passing, this guy’s brain had pieced together the operating logic of her biggest trump card in an incredibly short amount of time.

“Chu Chen.” A slight smile tugged at the corner of Lin Fan’s mouth. “Since you’ve seen through all my secrets, aren’t you afraid I’ll just crush you to death right now to silence you?”

Chu Chen swallowed the last bit of gummy candy and took a sip from the cup beside him.

“No, I’m not.”

“You’re that confident?”

“It’s not confidence—it’s a calculation based on real interests.” Chu Chen pointed at the ceiling above. “Those soldiers out there have already completely deified you as their faith. You need them to provide that special Faith Energy to enhance your abilities, right?”

Lin Fan didn’t refute it.

“If you killed me—the base commander—at this moment, it would inevitably cause panic and suspicion, directly affecting the purity of the faith you harvest. That wouldn’t align with your optimal interests.”

Chu Chen analyzed with clear logic, then paused, his gaze sharpening.

“And that’s not even the most critical point.”

“Continue.” Lin Fan watched him with keen interest.

“The most critical point is that your current behavior pattern shows an extremely strong sense of urgency.”

Chu Chen jumped down from the chair, walked to the whiteboard, and drew a few circles with the marker.

“You’re rushing to relocate the population, rushing to build fortresses, rushing back to Blue Star to settle scores with the Federation’s high command. You’re frantically expanding your foundation.”

Chu Chen turned to look at Lin Fan.

“This urgency tells me that you’re currently facing a terrifying target you simply cannot match in direct combat. You need to integrate as many resources as possible to fight against that existence.”

“If you’re racing against time, you need a pair of eyes and a brain that can oversee the overall situation and plan the optimal solution.”

Chu Chen tapped his temple with the marker.

“You need my computational power to accomplish that grand goal of yours, so I am a highly valuable strategic asset to you.”

Lin Fan listened quietly as Chu Chen finished speaking.

The command center fell silent for a full ten seconds.

Then, Lin Fan suddenly burst into laughter, crisp and silvery like bells.

“Hahaha… Good. Very good.”

Lin Fan rose to his feet and walked over to Chu Chen, his gaze filled with undisguised admiration.

From just the tip of the iceberg that had been revealed, Chu Chen had managed to calculate the murky situation between Blue Star and the other world, as well as Lin Fan’s own abilities and needs, with remarkable accuracy.

This guy’s brain was so sharp, it was practically a human supercomputer.

“I do enjoy talking to someone as clever as you. Saves time and effort.”

Lin Fan picked up the tablet on the table and gave it a little shake.

“You guessed right. I have indeed run into an old monster with an insatiable appetite.”

Lin Fan turned and headed toward the door, the hem of his long dress tracing an elegant arc through the air.

“Keep the Western Sichuan base safe for me. Once I’ve stripped those old fogeys in the Federation down to their last scrap, I’ll take you to Azurewood City. There’s a position as Chief of Staff waiting for you there.”
