Skinwalker Belle – Chapter 416 – Target: The Federal Capital
Skinwalker Belle – Chapter 416 – Target: The Federal Capital
“Time to go.”
With that, Lin Fan shot straight into the sky.
Her white hair and flowing dress billowed loudly in the wind.
On the ground, several hundred people craned their necks simultaneously to look up.
Lu Yuan stood at the very front, neck stretched as long as it could go, eyes bulging wide.
But the moment his gaze reached the hem of Lin Fan’s skirt, a highly dense mosaic constructed from Mental Strength appeared out of nowhere.
It moved omnidirectionally with Lin Fan’s movements, blocking every bit of scenery completely.
Lu Yuan rubbed his eyes and cursed under his breath.
“Mental Strength can be used like this? This is practically an inhumane way to use it.” Lu Yuan complained loudly.
Chen Mo walked over and kicked Lu Yuan square in the ass.
“If you’re tired of living, just say so. Go get people digging for Crystals. Screw this up and see what Lei Jie does to you.” Chen Mo urged.
Lu Yuan shrank his neck, then quickly turned and shouted at the new recruits at the top of his lungs.
“Get to work! Move it!”
High in the air.
Lin Fan hovered in place and pulled out the mini communicator Chu Chen had given her from her Storage Space.
The communicator was only half the size of a palm, with a single red button and a microphone pickup area on it.

She pressed the button on the communicator, and a beam of light projected into the air, displaying an image.
Chu Chen’s dead-fish eyes with dark circles under them appeared in the image, a string of handmade cotton candy clutched in his hand.
“Something up?” Chu Chen said as he chewed on the candy.
“Does this thing of yours actually work?” Lin Fan poked at the light projection in the air—it was even interactive.
“A communication device I crafted myself.” Chu Chen swallowed the soft candy. “I just took over the seven military satellites the Federation still has in operation. Real-time positioning and communication are absolutely no problem.”
Lin Fan tapped on the map in the projection.
Three red dots blinked on the screen.
“Let’s get to business. What’s the deal with these three coordinates?” Lin Fan asked.
“The nearest one is beneath the Capital Rift Defense Base.” Chu Chen pulled up several sets of data on the other end of the screen. “Chen Dingjun’s headquarters is there. He’s a complete madman. The supply manifests I intercepted show large quantities of high-purity nutrient solution and anesthetics being shipped there. Satellite detection shows an extremely high-density energy reaction underground.”
Lin Fan looked at the red dot and spoke.
“There are a lot of Experimental Subjects there?”
“A considerable number.” Chu Chen nodded. “Chen Dingjun mainly works on multi-species genetic splicing. To study rejection reactions between different genes, he needs a large number of survivors as experimental consumables.”
“That old bastard isn’t afraid of divine retribution.” Lin Fan let out a cold laugh.
Her gaze shifted to the red dot on the other side of Blue Star.
“Why is the second location so far away?” Lin Fan pointed at the screen.
“That’s the former territory of the Ugliness Nation.” Chu Chen reached for the milk coffee on his desk. “Everyone there has a gun. Even before the apocalypse, that place was having shootouts every day. After the apocalypse hit, they didn’t even manage to build the most basic official shelters—it degenerated straight into a primitive beast society. The reason the Federation’s high command built a secret base there is entirely because the living specimens in that area are extremely high quality.”

“The physical constitution of the people there is indeed a bit stronger.” Lin Fan commented.
“Physical fitness is only a secondary factor.” Chu Chen took a sip of water and continued, “The core reason is that the people over there have no ethical bottom line whatsoever. The Federation is conducting large-scale virus and mutant deployment experiments over there without any need for concealment. Because every day, a massive number of people die from robbery and mutual slaughter.”
Lin Fan curled her lips.
“Those people really have a knack for doing utterly unconscionable things. What about the third point?”
Chu Chen’s expression turned serious.
He enlarged the third red dot.
Its location was in the very center of the vast Pacific Ocean.
“This point is the strangest.” Chu Chen tapped on the keyboard, “Satellites can’t scan any specific structures—whether it’s on the sea surface or the seabed is completely unknown. That area is covered by an extremely high-level energy shielding field, somewhat similar to a Mental Strength shielding field.”
Lin Fan narrowed her eyes.
Now this was interesting.
Had Blue Star’s technology already reached the level of being able to create Mental Strength shielding fields?
“In order, then.” Lin Fan made up her mind. “Let’s go to the capital first. Even if it’s not their real nest, there should still be plenty of Experimental Subjects there. We’ll grab those first and talk later.”
“Lei Li.” Chu Chen called out to her.
“What else?”
“I’ll do my best to shield satellite detection of your energy signature, but the closer you get to the target location, given your energy levels, their locally deployed detectors will still pick you up.”
“Understood. They’d better pray their detectors don’t find me—otherwise, I suspect they’ll regret it.”

Lin Fan cut off the communication directly.
She withdrew the communicator back into her space, and terrifying energy erupted from every inch of her body.
A continuous series of sonic booms exploded through the air.
Lin Fan transformed into a blinding streak of light, shooting at full speed toward the capital.
The clouds along her path were brutally torn apart, leaving a long trail of empty sky behind her.
At the full flight speed of a peak Stage Eight expert, the mutant birds she passed fell straight from the air.
They couldn’t even withstand the slightest trace of the pressure radiating from Lin Fan.
One hour later.
Lin Fan stopped about ten kilometers from the capital’s Spatial Rift.
She hovered in midair, looking down at the horizon in the distance.
The capital’s Spatial Rift was even larger than the one in Magic City.
Its dark purple glow cast the half of the sky into something resembling twilight.
The air was thick with high concentrations of Spirit Energy.
No wonder Chen Dingjun’s faction hadn’t wiped out Wang Shan and his bunch of trash right away.
The Spirit Energy emanating from this Rift was enough to prove that the high-level otherworldly creatures being sent through each time were definitely not few in number.
The Genetic Augments under Chen Dingjun’s command were strong, but ultimately limited in numbers.

Just dealing with the Rift’s onslaught was already stretching them thin.
Lin Fan suppressed her aura completely, and her body descended like a feather, landing gently on the cracked asphalt road.
In her previous life, as a cripple who could only cling to life in a wheelchair, she had never once set foot in this political and economic center of the Federation.
Even though it had now become a ruin overgrown with mutant plants and littered with zombie remains, that weighty sense of history still lingered.
She wanted to take a stroll.
After all, those Experimental Subjects were just lying underground—they weren’t going anywhere.
There was also a more practical reason.
Lin Fan glanced down at the smoke-gray high-end flowing gown she was wearing and the strappy high-heeled sandals on her feet.
Pretty, sure—but wearing this getup to travel through the wasteland, let alone fight, was somewhat of a hindrance.
The road here was all gravel. Even if her high heels wore out, that was one thing—but if that cherry-red nail polish got scratched, she’d have to go all the way back to Azurewood City to fix it, and she didn’t have that kind of skill herself.
Besides, earlier, in pursuit of that perfect curve, she hadn’t worn anything underneath.
She’d flown all the way here, and the bouncing back and forth had been seriously uncomfortable.
She needed to find some suitable clothes to change into—especially undergarments and bras that fit her size.
Even though there were mountains of clothes in the System Space.
But since she was in the capital now, she might as well see if there was anything with a local flair to wear.
