Skinwalker Belle – Chapter 550 – Chu Chen’s Arrival
The conference room door was pushed open.
A gust of cold wind, tinged with the smell of gunpowder and blood, rushed in.
Sun Jing stood at the doorway, her black form-fitting combat suit outlining a figure with not a single ounce of excess. Her high ponytail swung from side to side with her hurried steps.
She swept her gaze across the room, her eyes locking precisely onto Lei Li at the head of the table.
“How is Brother Fan?”
That was the first thing she said—crisp, carrying an unmistakable urgency.
Lei Li’s freshly changed leather jacket hadn’t even warmed up yet. She looked up at the travel-worn Sun Jing, her brow furrowing almost imperceptibly.
“Didn’t you just leave less than a week ago?” Lei Li’s voice was slightly hoarse. “You should know his condition better than I do. Your healing ability doesn’t work on him.”
At the mention of that, Sun Jing’s expression darkened instantly.
Those eyes of hers, always burning with fighting spirit, flickered with a trace of helplessness.
She walked over to the conference table, pressed both hands on its surface, and leaned forward slightly.
“I didn’t come this time just for Brother Fan.”
Sun Jing raised her head, her gaze sharpening like two unsheathed blades.
“I also came for that woman… you all picked up recently.”
The air in the conference room froze for a moment.
In the corner, Xiao Wang, who was taking notes, stopped his pen mid-air.
Ah Hu was about to smooth things over when a single look from Lei Li silenced him.
“News travels fast.” Lei Li leaned back in her chair, arms crossed, her tone unreadable.
“It’s not that news travels fast.” Sun Jing straightened up and said, word by word, “It’s that Commander Chu wants to see her.”
Chu Chen.

The moment that name came out, the temperature in the conference room seemed to drop a few more degrees.
“Ever since Brother Fan risked his life to close that portal to the Dragon Spirit Continent, Blue Star has bought itself a period of breathing room.” Sun Jing continued, speaking rapidly.
“But recently, energy monitoring stations around the globe have all detected abnormal spatial fluctuations—both frequency and intensity are rising sharply.”
“Commander Chu believes the Dragon Clan is likely attempting to establish a new passage. They’re planning to make a comeback.”
“Right now, Blue Star’s strongest combatant is still unconscious.” Sun Jing’s gaze swept over Lei Li. “At this critical juncture, a woman of unknown origin who can make all zombies actively retreat has appeared at our most important stronghold… Commander Chu needs to know everything about her.”
Lei Li listened quietly, her expression unchanged.
“So, you want to take her away?”
“Not take her away—question her.” Sun Jing corrected. “We need to determine whether she’s an enemy. If she isn’t, she might become an ally.”
Lei Li let out a soft laugh.
“An ally?” She stood up, walked around the conference table, and stepped toward Sun Jing until she was right in front of her.
The two were similar in height, yet their auras could not have been more different.
One was like a drawn sword, sharp and blazing.
The other was like abyssal ice, unmovable as a mountain.
“Sun Jing.” Lei Li’s voice was soft, yet carried an unyielding pressure. “Her name is Lin Li now.”
“It’s my name, with Lin Fan’s surname.”
“Do you think I’d let you take her away?”
Sun Jing’s pupils contracted slightly.
She hadn’t expected Lei Li to stake her claim over that woman so directly, in such a manner.
“Lei Li, this is no time for personal feelings!”

“I’m not being emotional.” Lei Li cut her off. “If you want to question her, fine. Tell Chu Chen to drag his ass over here from Magic City himself.”
She took half a step forward, nearly pressing her nose against Sun Jing’s.
“Fragrant Hills International is still under my control for now.”
The moment the words left her mouth—
A barely noticeable wooden door to a storage room in the corner of the conference room let out a faint creak.
The door opened.
A young man in a white T-shirt with messy hair was crouching on a chair.
A lollipop dangled from his mouth, and he held a small bag of potato chips, crunching away as he ate.
Deep dark circles under his eyes made him look like he hadn’t slept in days.
He looked up, waved at the two women locked in a standoff, and mumbled through his mouthful.
“I’m here.”
The conference room fell into dead silence.
Sun Jing whipped her head around, her face betraying undisguised shock.
Lei Li’s body went rigid as well. She turned slowly to look at the man who was treating the conference room like his own living room.
Chu Chen hopped off the chair, brushed the chip crumbs off his hands, and strolled leisurely over to Lei Li.
“Still got that temper, huh.” He smiled, revealing teeth stained by the candy. “I told you before—losing your temper never solves anything.”
…
In the infirmary.
Xiao Yao was holding a pair of specially made scissors, carefully trimming the overgrown ends of Lin Li’s hair.
“Your hair grows way too fast.” Xiao Yao muttered as she cut. “The texture is nice, but it’s way too long—dragging on the floor like a mop.”

Lin Li sat quietly, letting Xiao Yao do her work.
Her gaze drifted out the window.
The night was deep, and the ruins of the distant city looked like a slumbering beast.
Just moments ago, a strange pang of unease had shot through her chest.
Brief—gone in a flash.
She didn’t know what it was.
Only that instinct told her something deeply connected to her was happening right now.
“Done.” Xiao Yao set down the scissors and clapped her hands in satisfaction.
Lin Li stood up. Her white hair now fell to her calves instead of dragging on the ground, making her look much fresher.
“Thank you.”
“Don’t mention it.” Xiao Yao tugged her along. “Come on, I’ll take you somewhere.”
The two walked through the corridor and were about to head downstairs when they saw the conference room door on the sixth floor wide open.
Standing at the entrance were Ah Hu and Xiao Wang, looking tense like a pair of guardian statues.
Seeing Xiao Yao and Lin Li approach, Ah Hu immediately raised a hand to stop them.
“There’s an important meeting going on inside. Don’t go over there.”
“A meeting?” Xiao Yao craned her neck to peek inside.
One look, and she froze.
Inside the conference room, Lei Li, Sun Jing, and… Chu Chen were standing around a table.
The atmosphere was so heavy it could drip water.

“Chu… Commander Chu, why is he here?” Xiao Yao stammered.
Ah Hu lowered his voice. “No idea. He came with Sun Jing—just popped right out of the storage room. Scared the hell out of me.”
Just then—
Lin Li’s feet moved forward involuntarily, one step.
Her gaze cut through the crowd and landed on the man crouched on the chair, shoving an entire chocolate bar into his mouth.
Chu Chen.
That name—she’d never heard it.
That face—she’d never seen it.
But the instant she laid eyes on him, an indescribable sense of familiarity crashed over her like a breached dam, flooding the blank void in her mind.
Not just him.
The woman with the ponytail—Sun Jing.
And every single person here.
They all felt unbearably familiar.
It was as if… they had once been an important part of her life, bones carved out from her very body.
Now, those bones lay one by one before her.
Yet she had no idea how to piece them back together.
Especially Lei Li.
That feeling was even stronger.
It was as if an invisible thread existed between her and that woman, binding their fates tightly together, inseparable.
