Skinwalker Belle – Chapter 567 – The Gears of Fate Have Aligned
Time passed. The memories continued.
Lin Li’s consciousness watched as Lin Fan endured another two hundred years in solitude.
Three hundred years was enough to grind away a person’s last edges and principles, leaving only that obsessive goal behind.
Through his mastery over the laws of space, he tore open a rift to Blue Star.
He stood on a street corner, watching the rise and fall of this world over two centuries.
He watched with his own eyes as the parents of this world went from young boys and girls, to meeting, to falling in love, and finally to marriage.
He saw his father pacing anxiously outside the delivery room, and when the first cry of a newborn pierced the air, that man wept.
He saw the infant in swaddling clothes waving its tiny fists—that was himself in this world.
A complete self, one with pure Blue Star bloodline and soul.
“If I could, I truly wouldn’t want you to walk this path.” He stood in the shadows outside the delivery room, his voice hoarse.
But he didn’t interfere.
He was merely an observer, a bystander.
He stood in the crowd at the intersection, watching as the out-of-control heavy truck roared forward and smashed into his parents’ small sedan.
The screech of twisting metal, the shatter of glass, and the screams of pedestrians all blended into one cacophony.
He stood outside the operating room, watching the doctor walk out and tell his younger self, in a pitying tone, that his legs would be crippled for life.
Blood, screams, the smell of disinfectant, and the crushed expression on the young man’s face.
He saw it all, and felt nothing. Because he knew this was the necessary sacrifice to make him the “perfect nourishment” he needed.

While he was observing Blue Star, the Dragon Spirit Continent was far from peaceful either.
The puppet Dragon Emperor he had installed, after a century of comfort, began to think his wings had grown strong enough to break free from his control.
“Ancestor, the times have changed.” The new Dragon Emperor stood in the great hall, flanked by a few trusted elders, ambition barely concealed in his voice. “The Dragon Clan cannot forever be kept under the thumb of some old relic who hasn’t shown his face in centuries.”
To this rebellion, he did only one thing.
On the night before the Dragon Emperor planned to make his move, he silently walked into the Dragon Emperor’s bedchamber.
At that moment, the Dragon Emperor was envisioning his future as the sovereign ruler of the Dragon Clan.
“The times haven’t changed.”
A voice sounded from behind him, and all the blood in the Dragon Emperor’s body ran cold. He turned in terror, only to see a face.
A hand moved faster than he could react, clamping down on his throat.
He snapped the Dragon Emperor’s neck in one motion.
“I made you Dragon Emperor, so you were Dragon Emperor. If I want to replace you, you’re not even worth a dog.”
A gray-black light flashed in his palm, and the Dragon Emperor’s body withered and shrank, until finally, a skin of the Dragon Emperor fell into his hand.
He shook out the skin, still warm, and casually draped it over himself. His bones crackled as his form and features shifted to become exactly like the Dragon Emperor from moments ago.
He walked to the mirror, smiled, and revealed a smile that belonged to the Dragon Emperor.
The true master behind the scenes had become the ruler on the surface.
Another hundred years passed.

To prepare for that plan spanning two worlds, he began making arrangements on both Blue Star and the Dragon Spirit Continent simultaneously.
“Coordinates confirmed. Nodes secured.”
Using the Dragon Spirit Continent as the formation base and his own body as the Formation Eye, he expended a tremendous amount of energy to personally forge one hundred and three Portals between the planets.
These were no random spatial rifts—they formed a super spirit gathering array on a planetary scale.
His goal was to drain every ounce of life energy from every living being in both worlds, along with the spirit energy that the Dragon Spirit Continent had accumulated over ten thousand years.
All of it was to fill the void in his bloodline and soul—to satisfy his obsession with going home.
Everything was ready.
All that was missing was a “key.”
That key was himself—the one sitting in a wheelchair with crippled legs, still harboring illusions about human nature.
The day the apocalypse broke out.
He tore through space and returned to that musty rental apartment on Blue Star.
He concealed his form, standing beside the wheelchair, looking down at his younger self who was staring blankly out the window. There was no pity in his gaze—only scrutiny.
“Too weak,” he commented coldly. “In the coming apocalypse, this version of you wouldn’t survive three days. How could you possibly grow strong enough to fuse with Long Xi? How could you be worthy of becoming my nourishment?”
He needed to administer a potent dose—one potent enough to completely warp a soul and reshape a personality.
He closed his eyes, and his vast mental strength surged into the depths of his own mind.
“Sever.”

The Skin System that had accompanied him for three hundred years—the core of his survival and rise to power—emitted a piercing electrical screech within his mental sea.
He forcibly tore the system in two.
The searing pain made the muscles in his face twitch, but he paid it no mind.
He kept the authority to create male Skins for himself. Then, he condensed the ability to create female Skins into a ball of light and shoved it into the mind of his younger self, who had no idea what was happening.
“You can only kill women,” he murmured, watching the system’s light slowly dissipate from his palm. “In this broken world, only by severing all desire and dependence can you become cold enough, crazy enough.”
He extended a finger and pressed it to his younger self’s brow.
His vast mental strength poured in, and he personally crafted a real dream for the young man.
A nightmare.
In the dream, his younger self experienced everything he had gone through in his previous life. After the knock came at the door, he opened it out of kindness—only to have everything stolen by that woman, Liu Ruyan.
This time, there was no Zhou Ming to save him.
At the end of the dream, Liu Ruyan pushed him—wheelchair and all—down the stairs in a mocking, almost playful manner, sending him tumbling into the horde of zombies, where he was torn apart alive.
He made his younger self die over and over in the dream, reliving that bone-deep hatred of betrayal and utter despair at humanity.
Hypnosis. Brainwashing. Personality reconstruction.
“Remember this pain of betrayal,” his voice echoed through his younger self’s mind. “Survive. Survive by any means necessary. Grow stronger at any cost. Trust no one. In this world, only power matters.”
When it was done, he withdrew his finger and left the room.
He stood in the shadows deep within the corridor, like a director waiting to watch a good show, silently observing as Liu Ruyan’s figure appeared at the stairwell, walked to that door, and raised her hand to knock.

The door opened.
Inside, his younger self woke from the nightmare, believing he had been reborn.
He looked at the woman before him—her face overlapping perfectly with the one that had pushed him down the stairs in his dream.
He raised the arm strength bar beside him, his gaze icy cold, and with all his might, he knocked Liu Ruyan unconscious, completing the creation of the first Skin of his life.
The gears of fate had clicked into place.
The memory stopped there.
Lin Li’s eyes snapped open.
The cold wind at ten thousand meters altitude, mixed with thin air, whipped against her face, yet it couldn’t blow away the storm raging in her heart.
Everything made sense now.
There was never any damn rebirth.
The memories etched into her bones that she’d had when she woke up on the first day—all of them were mental suggestions forcibly implanted by that man, that version of herself from another world.
Why could the Skin System only create female Skins?
Why were those one hundred and three Spatial Rifts, precise as if drawn with a ruler, so perfectly regular?
Because from beginning to end, this had been a three-hundred-year-long, inhuman process of raising gu.
And she—she was the one who had been meticulously designed, repeatedly fed poison, and ultimately raised to grow the sharpest fangs… the Gu King.
