Skinwalker Belle – Chapter 90 – Sky Hunter

The early morning sun had just pierced through the clouds when the roar of an engine echoed through the underground garage of Fragrant Hills International Tower.

Lin Fan stood beside an armored vehicle, dressed in a black, cinched-waist long dress and silver high heels.

Her short black hair shimmered like silk in the morning light, and the perfect curves of her figure were faintly visible beneath the long dress.

“Today’s hunt will be led by me.”

Her voice was as calm as still water, yet it carried an undeniable authority.

Zhou Ming, Ah Hu, Chen Wan, and the newly evolved squad leader, Li Ming, who had just succeeded yesterday, stood neatly before her.

“You have only one task—to dig out Crystals.”

Lin Fan’s gaze swept over the four of them, finally resting on Li Ming.

“Li Ming, you just evolved yesterday. Today is the perfect opportunity to test your strength-type ability.”

Li Ming nodded vigorously, his eyes gleaming with excitement.

“Yes, Lei-jie!”

Lin Fan lightly raised her right hand, and her Psychokinesis activated instantly.

Her body slowly lifted off the ground, her long black dress swaying in the air, like a goddess descending to the mortal world.

“Let’s move out.”

The armored vehicle’s engine roared again as it slowly drove out of the underground garage.

Lin Fan, meanwhile, hovered ten meters above the convoy, flying forward at a steady pace.

The ruins of the city stretched out beneath her, with dilapidated buildings scattered about like the skeletons of giant beasts.

Lin Fan’s senses were fully extended, searching for any trace of Mutant Zombies.

“Target spotted, two o’clock, three hundred meters ahead.”

Her voice reached the team members in the vehicle through the walkie-talkie.

“A strength-type Mutant, approximately two and a half meters tall.”

The armored vehicle immediately adjusted its course, heading toward the target’s location.

Lin Fan, however, dove directly from the sky like a black bolt of lightning.

The Mutant Zombie was wandering through a pile of rubble when it suddenly sensed a threat from above.

It looked up to see a beautiful woman descending from the heavens.

The next second, scorching flames erupted from Lin Fan’s hands.

The orange-red fireball was over a meter in diameter, its temperature reaching several thousand degrees.

Before the Mutant Zombie could even react, it was struck head-on by the fireball.

Its skin, as tough as steel, was instantly burned through, and its entire body was engulfed in flames.

A shrill roar echoed through the ruins, but it was quickly cut short.

Ten seconds later, only a charred corpse remained on the spot.

Lin Fan landed lightly on the ground, her high heels making a crisp sound on the gravel.

The armored vehicle arrived right after, and the four team members quickly disembarked.

Li Ming excitedly rushed toward the corpse and used a specialized tool to cut open the Mutant Zombie’s skull.

“Lei-jie, there’s a Crystal!”

He held up a red Crystal the size of a pigeon’s egg, his face filled with excitement.

Lin Fan nodded and ascended into the air again.

“Continue forward.”

The hunt that followed turned into a one-sided slaughter.

Lin Fan flew through the air, searching for prey from her high vantage point.

Whenever she discovered a Mutant Zombie, she would descend from the sky and kill it instantly with either fire or Psychokinesis.

A speed-type Mutant Zombie tried to escape, but Lin Fan’s Psychokinesis instantly froze it in place.

A subsequent fireball reduced it completely to charcoal.

A defense-type Mutant Zombie had skin as hard as steel, impenetrable by ordinary flames.

Lin Fan sneered, and the temperature of her flames instantly rose to its limit.

The white flames, like the inferno on the sun’s surface, instantly melted the Mutant Zombie’s defenses.

The four people inside the armored vehicle were dumbfounded.

“Lei-jie’s power… it’s gotten stronger again.”

Ah Hu gripped the steering wheel, his voice filled with awe.

“This level of flame control is simply a miracle.”

Chen Wan watched the elegant figure in the sky through the car window, her eyes full of admiration.

Zhou Ming, however, stared intently at the sway of Lin Fan’s dress as she flew, his heart racing.

“Focus on driving,” Ah Hu reminded him in a low voice, noticing his expression.

At noon, the convoy stopped at an abandoned gas station to rest.

Lin Fan descended from the sky, her long dress clinging gently to her body, outlining her perfect curves.

“How was the morning’s haul?”

She walked toward Li Ming, who was counting the Crystals.

“Lei-jie, we killed a total of forty-three Mutant Zombies and obtained eight Crystals,” Li Ming reported respectfully.

“Among them are five red strength-type, two blue speed-type, and one yellow defense-type.”

Lin Fan nodded in satisfaction.

Obtaining eight Crystals in half a day was an efficiency several times greater than yesterday’s.

“Continue.”

She rose into the air again, flying toward another district of the city.

The afternoon hunt was even more efficient.

Lin Fan had completely familiarized herself with the rhythm of aerial combat, and every attack was precise and lethal.

She even began to experiment with more complex tactics.

Using Psychokinesis to control a Mutant Zombie’s movements, then striking it with precision fire.

Or first weakening a Mutant Zombie’s defenses with fire, then delivering a fatal blow with Psychokinesis.

Each combination displayed terrifying power.

As the sun set, the weary convoy finally returned to Fragrant Hills International.

Li Ming laid out the day’s harvest on the conference room table.

There were seventeen Crystals of various colors.

Red strength-types were the most numerous, with nine.

There were five blue speed-types.

And two yellow defense-types.

There was also one purple Crystal that had never been seen before.

“Nearly a hundred Mutant Zombies, seventeen Crystals.”

Lin Fan sat in the main seat, her fingers tapping lightly on the tabletop.

“The efficiency has increased by more than five times.”

Ah Hu, Zhou Ming, Chen Wan, and Li Ming answered in unison.

“Lei-jie is mighty!”

Lin Fan picked up the purple Crystal and examined it closely.

The Crystal emitted a faint purple glow, and something seemed to be flowing within it.

“Which Mutant Zombie was this taken from?”

“It was from that special Mutant we encountered this afternoon,” Li Ming replied.

“Its ability was strange. It could release some kind of purple mist that caused hallucinations.”

Lin Fan nodded thoughtfully.

A psychic-type Mutant Zombie. This was the first time they had encountered one.

“Distribute these Crystals to the squad leaders to try.”

She pushed the Crystals toward the center of the table.

“Remember, each person can only try one. If you fail, don’t force it.”

Soon, a dozen or so squad leaders were summoned to the conference room.

They looked at the Crystals on the table, their eyes all shining with desire.

The first to be tried was a red Crystal.

A burly squad leader swallowed the Crystal, and his body immediately began to tremble violently.

His muscles started to swell, and his bones made cracking sounds.

Ten minutes later, he had successfully evolved into a strength-type Evolved being.

Next was a blue Crystal.

After a slender squad leader tried it, he gained incredibly high movement speed.

The yellow Crystal made another squad leader’s skin as hard as steel.

But not everyone could succeed.

Of the seventeen Crystals, only six people successfully evolved in the end.

The others, though their bodies reacted, eventually returned to normal.

“It seems evolution really does require talent.”

Lin Fan stood up and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window.

“But this level of efficiency is already enough.”

She turned around, her gaze sweeping over everyone present.

“Starting tomorrow, we will expand the scope of our hunt.”

“Within one month, I want Fragrant Hills International to have over a hundred Evolved beings.”

Everyone’s eyes flashed with excitement.

A hundred Evolved beings—what a terrifying army that would be.

“Yes! Lei-jie!”

Everyone answered in unison, their voices echoing in the conference room.

Lin Fan nodded with satisfaction.

The efficiency of the Crystal hunt had been proven. The next step was large-scale expansion.

She would make the entire city of Hangcheng grovel at the feet of Fragrant Hills International.
