Breakthrough, The Zhao Family!

Liu Fan stared at Ning Fan. Though it had only taken the span of a single breath, the Ning Fan before his eyes seemed to have undergone a world-shaking transformation.

The aura around his entire body had spiked several times over!

"Playing tricks!"

Liu Fan squinted and barked a low reprimand. A split second later, his feet slammed hard against the ground, his body launching forward like a cannonball as he shot straight toward Ning Fan.

In Liu Fan's eyes, no matter what strange changes Ning Fan underwent, the boy was absolutely no match for him. Thus, he chose once more to hold back a portion of his strength, throwing out a single punch.

Ning Fan did not dodge either.

He met the enemy with his own fist!

Fist clashed against fist.

Boom-

A dull explosion rang out. A visible ring of shockwave rippled out from the point of impact, sweeping the surrounding loose gravel high into the air.

Thud, thud-

Ning Fan merely took two steps back before halting his retreat. His feet planted themselves firmly on the ground like deep roots, leaving him only slightly at a disadvantage.

"What?!"

Liu Fan's eyes widened, his pupils contracting to the size of needle points as shock flickered within them. He was utterly astonished. Using the exact same strength as before, why did Ning Fan-who could not even withstand a single strike moments ago-now possess such power?

"This aura..."

"The Profound Extreme Realm?!"

Liu Fan suddenly noticed the anomaly. In that brief instant, Ning Fan had actually completed his breakthrough, rising from the peak of the Yellow Extreme Realm into the Profound Extreme Realm.

"That's impossible!"

An ordinary cultivator required a process to break through the Yellow Extreme Realm. Even if the process was short, it usually took at least fifteen minutes.

Yet this Ning Fan had completed it in an instant.

How could that be?

Did he not need time to adapt to the Profound Extreme Realm?

Liu Fan's reasoning was correct.

Ning Fan truly did not need to adapt to the Profound Extreme Realm, for one simple reason: he had been in this realm before. He had merely fallen from the Profound Extreme Realm down to the peak of the Yellow Extreme Realm. Furthermore, his current peak state was completely different from an ordinary cultivator's.

Under Ye Honglian's deliberate training, Ning Fan's peak Yellow Extreme Realm was a state where a breakthrough could be achieved with just a single thought.

It was what one would call being infinitely close to the Profound Extreme Realm!

"Junior Brother Ning, not bad at all! Come, have a proper bout with me!"

Liu Fan intentionally chose not to dodge, taking Ning Fan's counter-punch head-on.

Hmph-

Liu Fan let out a muffled grunt, stumbling back several paces. A breath of air caught painfully in his chest, turning his face flushed and red.

"So strong! To possess such force right after a sudden breakthrough!" Liu Fan called out loudly.

Without waiting, he lunged at Ning Fan once more.

To the onlookers, the two were locked in a ferocious, chaotic brawl.

"This Ning Fan truly is a genius. To break through mid-battle and immediately match Liu Fan to such a degree upon reaching the Profound Extreme Realm... If he continues to grow, he will become a terrifying rival."

"Not only is his spiritual energy incredibly dense, but his physical resilience is almost on par with a Demon Beast. He truly is someone who conquered three trials."

Several prodigies glanced over, nodding silently in approval.

"But his current cultivation is still too weak."

"Liu Fan, pull yourself together and don't embarrass us! You're the one who said you'd show this Ning Fan what a Personal Disciple is capable of!"

"Go get him!"

While hunting the Hybrid Demon Beasts, the other disciples still found the breath to mock Liu Fan. Yet Liu Fan remained unbothered. This was a deliberate act of holding back that he had chosen himself.

"Come! Fight!"

"I want to see what difference a breakthrough to the Profound Extreme Realm makes! Do you really think you can match me?"

Liu Fan swallowed the stale air in his chest. His figure blurred, reappearing right in front of Ning Fan as he aimed a punch straight at the boy's face!

At the same time, he hissed in a whisper, "Junior Brother Ning, hit harder!"

Ning Fan: "..."

Ning Fan's eyes flickered.

This Liu Fan truly was trying to foundation goodwill with him!

Bam! Bam! Bam! Bam! Bam!

Within a short span of a few minutes, Ning Fan and Liu Fan exchanged over a dozen moves. Every blow was a vicious strike of flesh against bone, and the sharp cracks of colliding fists echoed continuously. Truth be told, Liu Fan was carefully regulating his strength, utilizing the clash to feed Ning Fan moves and help him stabilize his form.

"Dragon Snake Evolution Hand!"

Ning Fan's spiritual energy surged wildly. A dark-grey mist materialized across his arms, coiling forward along his limbs until it condensed into the shadow of a flood dragon right over his knuckles.

Ning Fan threw a fierce punch, sending the dragon shadow straight toward Liu Fan's face.

Liu Fan's eyes widened. He immediately tilted his head, narrowly evading the lethal strike.

"Incredible! Junior Brother Ning, your natural talent is truly extraordinary!" Liu Fan shouted in feigned shock.

Ning Fan did not press the advantage, immediately leaping backward to create distance.

Hoo-

Ning Fan took a deep breath and slowly exhaled, calming the turbulent blood vitality churning within him.

A heavy sense of caution arose in his mind. Liu Fan was genuinely strong. If the man were to fight with absolute seriousness, Ning Fan would likely have to unleash his Spirit Marks to hold his ground.

The cultivators capable of entering the Evolution Grounds were indeed the elite geniuses of the Yin Yang Divine Sect's younger generation; none of them could be taken lightly.

By now, Ning Fan looked incredibly disheveled. His robes were torn in several places, and his exposed skin was covered in deep purple bruises and several bloody scratches.

During their clash, Liu Fan had continuously raised the stakes to make the battle look authentic. It was only natural that Ning Fan would sustain some superficial wounds.

"Junior Brother Ning, your strength is commendable. And your body... you can really take a beating."

The corner of Liu Fan's mouth twitched slightly. He was not flattering the boy; during the intense exchange, he had been genuinely shocked by the terrifying robustness of Ning Fan's physical frame.

"Since a victor cannot be easily decided for now, why don't you enter the formation with us to hunt the beasts?" Liu Fan stepped aside, extending an arm in an open invitation.

Ning Fan's eyes softened with a trace of gratitude. He gave a slight nod in acknowledgment.

With this display out of the way, it was highly unlikely that anyone inside the formation would try to make trouble for him without cause.

Yet, right at that moment, an abrasive voice shattered the atmosphere.

"Liu Fan, what kind of farce are you two putting on?"

"Don't think I can't see through you. You're holding back so much it's pathetic."

The mocking words cut through the air. Ning Fan and Liu Fan turned simultaneously toward the source. A disciple who had just finished off a Hybrid Demon Beast was glaring directly at them.

Upon seeing the man's face, Liu Fan's expression darkened instantly.

"Zhao Zhou. We have a bit of history," Liu Fan muttered, revealing the man's identity.

"Zhao?" Ning Fan murmured to himself, a thoughtful gleam passing through his eyes.

As expected, Liu Fan added a warning. "Zhao Zhou is from the Zhao family."

After speaking, Liu Fan raised his chin and glared coldly back at Zhao Zhou. "Heh. If you think I'm acting, why don't you step up and try him?"

"I have no interest in doing so," Zhao Zhou sneered.

If he stepped in to block Ning Fan and Yun Qingyao now, it would only drag him into a tedious, exhausting battle, leaving him no time to harvest the Hybrid Demon Beasts. That would simply allow the others to reap all the benefits.

However, he had other ways...

"Hmph. Then keep your mouth shut," Liu Fan snapped. He turned back to Ning Fan and Yun Qingyao, his expression softening. "Junior Brother Ning, Junior Sister Yun, let us hunt the Hybrid Demon Beasts together. What do you say?"
