Stone Stele Martial Skill!

"Wh-what!?"

"What is going on!?"

"..."

Cries of alarm rang out. A massive object crashed to the ground, causing the earth to tremble. A cloud of dust swallowed the crowd like a grey wave, and some unprepared Yellow Extreme Realm disciples were even knocked to the floor.

A moment later, the dust settled.

Everyone saw a colossal stone stele standing tall amidst the crowd. Merely resting there, the stele exuded an ancient, desolate charm. Even the disciples with the lowest cultivation could tell that the stone stele before them was no mortal object.

Upon closer inspection, the stele was covered in a dense cluster of squiggly patterns. They twisted and meandered like a knot of earthworms, or like the chaotic trails left by snakes slithering across sand. There was no order to them whatsoever; they were entirely like ghostly talisman script.

"This is the stone stele from the ancient ruins?"

Ning Fan stared intently at the stele.

Shao Hong had once dipped his finger in tea to draw similar patterns on the ground for him. Although Shao Hong's drawing hadn't been precise, seeing it with his own eyes now, Ning Fan was one hundred percent certain: he had seen similar patterns on Ye Honglian's robes!

These characters... Ye Honglian might actually know them!

"..."

Ning Fan's heart settled, even surging with a faint trace of excitement. If this ancient ruin stele truly recorded a powerful martial skill, it would be an absolutely tremendous Fated Chance for him!!!

"Disciple Ning Fan, begin your comprehension."

Ghost Tooth spoke.

"Understood."

Hearing this, Ning Fan immediately sat cross-legged on the ground. He rested one elbow on his thigh to prop up his head, while his other hand rested on his knee.

No matter what, he had to put on an act first. Furthermore, Ning Fan truly needed to rest. His last dual cultivation session had been too intense, and his body hadn't fully recovered yet.

Yawn-

Ning Fan let out a yawn, faint dark circles lingering under his eyes.

"Disciple Ning Fan."

"Take this."

A soft call caught Ning Fan's attention. It was the Changming Peak Master. With a flick of her wrist, a small porcelain bottle was tossed at Ning Fan's feet.

Ning Fan opened the small porcelain bottle and leaned in to sniff it. A refreshing scent filled his nose, and his physical fatigue seemed to instantly alleviate quite a bit.

"What is this?"

Ning Fan asked.

"A Shenbao Pill."

"Shenbao Pill?"

"Exactly. Our Yin Yang Divine Sect elevates one's cultivation realm through dual cultivation. However, if one dual cultivates without regard for their body, it will cause a martial artist to lose their Origin source. The name of this pill takes one character from 'Shenzhong' (Prudence) and one from 'Baohu' (Protection), meant to remind a martial artist to be prudent in dual cultivation and protect their own body."

The Changming Peak Master explained.

"Oh..."

Ning Fan nodded in sudden realization.

So it was the Prudence-Protection Pill.

Ning Fan had almost thought it was a Kidney-Protection Pill.

"..."

Ning Fan opened his palm and shook the small porcelain bottle. Two Shenbao Pills fell into his hand. Tipping his head back, he swallowed the pills into his stomach. Instantly, he felt a warm current bloom in his lower abdomen, which then flowed along his meridians to his limbs and bones.

His sore bones, muscles, and meridians were instantly soothed.

Even his spirit recovered a great deal.

Truly a good item!

Ning Fan glanced at the small porcelain bottle in his hand. There were still about six Shenbao Pills left inside. He didn't stand on ceremony, directly stowing the bottle into his storage ring.

After putting away the remaining Shenbao Pills, Ning Fan stole a glance at the Changming Peak Master. Seeing no reaction from her, he turned his attention back to studying the stone stele.

Time slowly slipped away as Ning Fan observed.

At first.

Many disciples were extremely curious about this inheritance stone stele from the ancient ruins. More than a few joined in to observe it, hoping to comprehend something from it.

But no matter how they looked at it, the characters on the stele remained like ghostly talismans, completely impenetrable to their eyes.

Gradually.

The disciples studying the stele's text gave up, shifting their attention to Ning Fan instead. They wanted to see if this disciple who had repeatedly redefined the word 'genius' could comprehend a thing or two.

Yet Ning Fan maintained the exact same posture, sitting carelessly on the ground with his gaze fixed upon the stele.

However, the crowd couldn't shake the feeling that Ning Fan's focus wasn't locked onto the stone stele at all. It looked like his mind was wandering?

No.

Impossible. Ning Fan must be deep in thought. After all, the stele's text was incredibly difficult to comprehend, and time was of the essence. There was no way Ning Fan would waste time!

As time passed, the crowd of gathered disciples didn't thin out; instead, it grew even larger.

After all, this was a stone stele from the ancient ruins.

Many people had never seen this stele with their own eyes and were more than willing to come watch the spectacle.

Suddenly.

Ning Fan's spirit roused, and he abruptly stood up.

Everyone's gazes locked onto him.

"C-could it be!?"

Someone exclaimed in surprise.

Many others gulped hard, their hearts filled with shock.

This Ning Fan.

Could he really have deciphered something from this obscure and incomprehensible stele text?

Ghost Tooth also furrowed his brows tightly.

No.

That's impossible, right!?

As for the Changming Peak Master, a profound divine light burst forth in her eyes, and her entire being seemed to tremble with excitement. If Ning Fan could crack the contents of the stele, perhaps the entire Changming Peak could turn its fortunes around and no longer remain the worst main peak in the Yin Yang Sect!

"..."

Feeling the stares of the crowd, Ning Fan raised a hand and scratched his head.

"Umm."

"Nature calls."

Ghost Tooth: "..."

Changming Peak Master: "..."

The other Peak Masters: "..."

The disciples: "..."

If nature calls, then nature calls. Why make such a huge fuss about it, jumping up so majestically as if you were about to break through a realm?

Seriously.

Ning Fan left the area and relieved himself a short distance away. When he returned to the crossroad, he did not plan on wasting any more time.

Instead, he cupped his fists and bowed to the several Peak Masters.

"Senior Peak Masters."

"This disciple wishes to dual cultivate while simultaneously comprehending this profound stele text. I wonder if I can step away, or perhaps have some sort of Formation set up?"

It was approaching midnight, and the sky was dark. Ye Honglian was likely in a relatively secure location by now and available to dual cultivate.

"Very well. We will set up a Formation to isolate the sound and light within. This way, you can dual cultivate in peace."

The Changming Peak Master spoke.

She looked toward the Qihua Peak Master beside her. The Qihua Peak Master was a rather young man, looking about the same age as Young Master Zheng.

He was noticeably much younger than the other Peak Masters.

"Leave it to me."

A smile curled the corners of the Qihua Peak Master's mouth. He withdrew a palm-sized model from his sleeve and gently tossed it into the air. The model expanded rapidly against the wind, taking the form of a Formation foundation.

The Formation foundation hovered above Ning Fan's position before abruptly descending.

It enveloped Ning Fan and Yun Qingyao within.

"Rise!"

The Qihua Peak Master's fingers flicked continuously, profound hand seals flying from his fingertips. The next moment, a streak of light flashed across the Formation foundation.

The light swept upward from the ground. Wherever it passed, Ning Fan felt the outside scenery grow slightly hazy.

Other than that.

There was nothing else.

"Disciple Ning Fan, the Formation to conceal your aura is complete. No one on the outside can see or hear the movements within. You can dual cultivate without worry."

The Qihua Peak Master's voice rang out.

However, faced with the Qihua Peak Master's words, Ning Fan remained somewhat skeptical.
