“What’s wrong?” I asked. “You look like something’s bothering you.”
Eu tapped the table twice and placed a note.
“Haruna hates me.”
I wanted to tell her that wasn’t true, but I wasn’t entirely sure.
“What do you think of Haruna?”
She froze with her pen in hand, like she hadn’t expected the question.
After a pause, she wrote, “I don’t know how to express this feeling, but I don’t want her to hate me.”
“So you want to be friends with her?”
“Maybe.” She stopped writing for a moment, looked me straight in the eye, then added, “I want to be friends with her.”
A powerful will burned within those clear, blue eyes.
“If that’s what you want, you can. For all her bluster, she’s actually pretty lonely.”
I chuckled. Eu lowered her gaze, looking dejected.
“Is there something else bothering you?”
“Without my armor, I can’t suppress the flow of mana.”
If she couldn’t hold it back, fate itself would change.
