With the tension gone, Tomonori bounced right back to her usual lively, straightforward self. We trudged along the mountain path that kept getting harder to walk. I looked up—no moon, no clouds, just a breathtaking starry sky.
“I’m cold.”
I’d lost count of how many time Haruna had said that while glaring at me, hugging herself. Look at me, damn it! My jeans didn’t even have a button, my hoodie had no sleeves, and my shirt looked like it’d been through a blender. And she still had the nerve to whine about being cold? Unbelievable.
“Haruna, whining won’t change the temperature,” Sera said.
“You’ve got fat on your chest, so you’re fine.” I shivered. Yeah, the air was cold, but Sera’s icicle-eyes stabbing into me didn’t help. “You could learn a thing or two from Eu. Not a word of complaint.”
