It was an autumn day, long after I’d gotten used to my high school life as a zombie.
The school festival was over, and the weather had turned chilly.
Since sunlight wasn’t exactly my friend, I usually slept in the classroom until nightfall, but sometimes, I’d wander around the school for no reason.
That day, I felt like doing just that. As I walked down an empty hallway, I thought I heard music and stopped. The sound was coming from Class 2-C.
Since I felt uncomfortable about entering a seniors’ classroom, I peered through the window in the door instead.
In the orange glow of the autumn sunset, I saw two girls inside, moving in some kind of strange rhythm.
Once I was sure there was no one else around—and that I recognized both of them—I quietly slid the door open.
