Laughter from a variety show spilled out of the TV.

I sat at the kotatsu watching it, half-asleep.

A yawn escaped me. Saturday nights, I believed, were made for resting your body. I couldn’t bring myself to do anything, or even feel like moving.

The cozy warmth of the kotatsu could put any hypnotist to shame.

I pulled the quilt up to my shoulders and hunched over lazily. Then, the girl sitting to my left peeled an orange and offered it to me.

“Thanks, Eu.”

Even inside the kotatsu, she wore her armor.

Her long silver hair glimmered beautifully, and the small hands covered by gauntlets looked as delicate and pale as snow. Her blue eyes were perfectly clear, and her small lips didn’t move an inch.

Her name was Eucliwood Hellscythe. She was the Necromancer who had turned me into a zombie. A girl with immense power.
