Take Care – Part 02

When I didn’t answer, a voice said, “It’s me. Open up.”

I knew instantly who it was. Saras.

“Oh. It’s you.”

“Darling, the results are in.” Saras sounded disappointed.

“What does it say?”

Hearing her tone made a terrible thought cross my mind. Did that mean we wouldn’t be able to leave the house after all?

“Apparently there’s no risk of airborne transmission,” she said delightfully.

You jerk. She did that on purpose.

I unlocked the door to welcome her inside, but the door swung open with force.

“Ahh! I missed you so much, my damn darling!” She threw herself at me.

I was baffled. Her arms wrapped around my neck, and her smooth black hair brushed against my cheek.

“What’s gotten into you all of a sudden? You’re acting like you just reunited with someone you thought you’d never see again.”

I managed to pry her arms loose
