“I know what you’re trying to do,” I said.

Big Teach clapped her hands together once. “How much do you know?”

Apparently, she was interested.

“You’re planning to turn the Megalo Generator into a perpetual mana machine. And for that, you want the life of either the queen or Eu.”

Big Teach listened while nodding along thoughtfully. She didn’t argue even once.

“And?” she said.

“What?”

What kind of answer did she expect?

“If I really do convert the Megalo Generator into a perpetual machine, how do you think I plan to use it afterward?”

When I didn’t know how to answer, she pressed further. It felt exactly like talking to a teacher.

“I, uh… have no idea.”

“So in other words, you don’t know anything at all.”

She was right. I never really thought about the fundamentals.

If Big Teach’s final target was the queen, then was she
