Just then, a wave of cold air spread outward from Big Teach. My body wouldn’t move. What the fuck happened to chanting spells?!

Thud, thud. Saras and Sera collapsed to the ground.

Big Teach’s real objective was to force us together and take us all out at once.

Just one precise blunt strike with the back of her sword knocked them unconscious.

She’s just too strong.

Big Teach slowly walked toward me and kicked my knee. I went limp and crumpled to the ground.

“If you didn’t have magic, we might’ve had a chance. How did you pull that off without chanting?”

It was over. Checkmate. Damn it.

“Without chanting? I did chant.”

“I didn’t even hear your transformation spell.”

“If you heard it, you’d know what I was about to do, wouldn’t you?”

True enough. Announcing your next move in the middle of a fight would be idiotic.
