REAPER RECORD V
…What are those glowing, cubelike things?
I took my eyes off the spot for just a moment, and yet again I was greeted with some crazy new object. It was just the same as before. This world was such a pain in the ass.
Looking at the glowing boxes in front of me, I spotted a man standing in front of them, dressed in outrageous-looking clothing. He looked at my face; then his eyebrows arched up in surprise. He looked human, but I could already tell—those were the “clearing eyes.”
There was a person sprawled out by my feet. He had grown a lot, but I could tell who he was right off, too. But…dead? Really? How was he supposed to see anything in the shape he was in? What an idiot.
The blood flowed in an onrush across my body, almost boiling in my veins.
The feeling bursting out of my chest…I suppose “rage” described it best.
I didn’t know how long I could remain alive in my granddaughter’s body…but that was no real problem. I was, after all, a monster. Reason didn’t apply to me.
“Don’t make me deviate from my script, you bastard,” yelped the inscrutable sight before me.
Who the hell does he think he’s talking to?
Trying to take me on…He must have known how pointless that was, no matter how many times the earth had spun around.
“Don’t worry. You’ve spun that ridiculous tale for far too long…”
“…I’m ending it all right now.”
