For the next few days, Fulgur upholds his end of the promise. He never mentioned about Uki’s identity as an angel, unless when they’re alone. Uki knows that he shouldn’t be yelling at a patient, but at this moment, he couldn’t help himself. An indescribable tightness clenches his heart, an unrelenting dismay crowds his chest, both with no means of escape. Tension fills the room, which the smallest spark could turn it all into flames.

If Uki was expecting sharp emotions to be that spark, then what Fulgur has presented him was the complete opposite. It was monotone, as if stating an obvious fact; it was light, but somehow a heavy weight to bear. All of the fumes seems to condense, leaving only a sense of helplessness behind. Fulgur doesn’t look at him, instead, he stares out the window. Uki does the same. The two of them stare into the horizon in silence, as the birds fly past, as sky blue fades into red.
