EIFER
EIFER
According to legend, the gods gifted humanity divine powers twelve thousand years ago and allowed humans to produce elemental energies stored in their blood, hoping that the ensuing chaos would entertain the Heavens. Eifer is widely used in battle and is considered as deadly as gunpowder weapons. Thus, many theorists have come to agree that military technology has remained relatively stagnant throughout history as a result of this power. But many instances of everyday life are fuelled by Eifer as well, from lighting a stove, working a steam engine, and watering plants to producing light. Biologists understand that genetics encodes an Eifer's type, strength, and abilities, yet no scientific explanation exists for this. Eifers sprout during puberty for most, but as if a person had grown an additional limb, one must train in its use through regular tools before this power can be harnessed for use. The truly talented individuals capable of wielding Eifer without a tool are few but not impossible. They represent one of the extremes in this world. Another small percentage of humans, known as ‘Undesirables’, are unable to produce Eifer.
