LECHEN (LECHEYA)

The Kingdom of Lechen is known as Lecheya in the Lecher dialect. The name is derived from the legendary founder of the confederation of tribes that inhabited central Europen in the late Julius Era. Following Lechen’s unification, the fertile lands rich in natural resources that comprised the new nation experienced one of the longest periods of stability that few civilisations can boast about. Its wealth supported an elite military required to protect its borders, which were surrounded by enemies on all sides, and its vast food system kept a steady population which fueled its industry and commerce. Lechen proved to be one of the largest powers that fought for dominance on the continent for nine centuries without pause, but every machine eventually runs out of steam. During the Second Calamity, the kingdom was finally defeated by its rival, the Zhermanner, and when it was resurrected as a member of the League of Nations, it was no longer a nation that her neighbours had to fear. Władysław Warneńczyk, the kingmaker, was the only man who kept the kingdom’s enemies at bay.
