Chapter 180
Chapter 180
The innate ability of the tundra werewolf transformation required an energy circuit to permeate the entire body. According to its complexity, it was the most formidable innate ability amongst the three.
Under uncertain circumstances, Adam wouldn't directly test it on himself. Hence, Canbi, who thirsted for power, became the most suitable test subject.
This time, the terror and agony he faced was far more intense than when his bloodline was purified. Even though Adam had temporarily severed his pain nerves, Canbi's internal tissues were still violently trembling and contracting. If not for the naturally overflowing plant energy maintaining the stability of his internal environment, Canbi would've most likely perished.
"Power isn't easy to obtain. You must endure." Adam softly advised.
Canbi could seemingly hear his voice, as the trembling of his tissues gradually subsided. Satisfied, Adam strolled to his side. Stooping his body, he carefully inserted the ice blade into Canbi's heart.
This was a difficult task. Compared to Adam's massive body, Canbi was truly too small. Adam had to be incomparably meticulous, to ensure that he wouldn't make a mistake.
Canbi didn't possess Psychokinetic abilities, and the grade of his plant energy wasn't stable enough to materialize. Thus, Adam decided to use the heart as the source, and construct another blood vessel system within Canbi's body using the ice crystal tubes.
The operation lasted for a day and night. Under Adam's meticulous control, another blood vessel gradually formed within Canbi's body. Due to the excessively cold energy ice crystals, Canbi's body rejected it violently. However, that didn't mean much. Adam felt that Canbi could overcome it.
After stitching the two halves of his body back together, Adam muttered to himself after sewing them back together with threads made from the flesh of the werewolf.
"Now then, the final step of the transformation experiment – blood circulation. Begin."
Adam's ice blade crumbled, transforming into a tiny flying insect that drilled into Canbi's heart. The electric elements within were just right, injecting new vitality into the heart that was on the verge of stopping beating.
Thump! Thump!
Canbi's heartbeat gradually grew stronger. Blood started flowing into the ice crystal tubes, where green energy rapidly healed his wounds.
Half an hour later, Canbi sat up from the operation table with a dazed expression, his face still in agony. He asked. "Is it over?"
Adam threw a small gust of cold air at his face to help him sober up.
Canbi attempted to incite his energy to verify his existence. Unexpectedly, just as that thought surfaced, the energy flowed into a place he had never imagined using an incomprehensible method. Following that, he roared in agony once again.
His skin began to fibrillate, rapidly transforming into tree bark. His body size and mass increased. His limbs separated from the root structure and intertwined with each other. His hair turned into green leaves, drooping down and covering his head like a visor.
After the transformation, what appeared in front of Adam was a treant.
"How do you feel?"
Canbi's face was blank as he helplessly replied, "This feeling … isn't bad. My lord, I should have become stronger."
— — —
Canbi couldn't explain why. Adam ordered him to adapt to his new ability, and record the changes for himself. After inquiring about the direction of the werewolf tribe, Canbi ventured into the icy plains by himself.
If there were extraordinaries in the three tribes, the others would only be a hindrance. Therefore, Adam chose to act alone to add the first batch of goods to the Free Cities. The powerful slaves produced by the icy plains should be very popular.
After permanently solidifying two powerful innate gifts, Adam's strength was no longer inferior to the extraordinaries of this world. His opponent was Okov. The current Adam possessed the ability to easily escape from Okov's clutches.
Ever since he arrived at the dragon plane, he finally had the capital to establish himself.
After flying at full speed for three days, Adam found the werewolf tribe southeast of the Free Cities. His current body was too large, and there was no way for him to hide. Moreover, werewolves had extraordinary hearing and smell. Before Adam could approach, he was blocked by over a hundred robust werewolves.
"Adult dragons! Damn it! That forest sprite really did deceive us! "A robust werewolf roared with a hoarse voice.
Adam's vertical pupils swept across the front, but he didn't discover any extraordinary werewolves. Although there were many of them, they posed no threat to Adam. He couldn't help but feel disappointed. Was this all they had?
The pack of wolves was irascible and easily angered. They whimpered and howled, their sharp claws leaving deep marks on the icy plains. Their eyes turned blood red, and as soon as their leader gave the order, they would swarm forward and tear the dragon to shreds.
The werewolf leader who spoke earlier transformed into a human and questioned with a sinister expression, "Dragon, Ken was killed by you, wasn't he?"
Adam replied, "If you're talking about that idiot who wanted to eat me and hang me on the city wall."
The werewolf leader roared and suddenly took a step forward, "Dragon, you've crossed the line. According to the ancient covenant, this is the territory of the three tribes of the icy plains. You have no right to enter! Leave behind sufficient compensation and leave the icy plains. Otherwise, the elders will personally kill you! "
Ancient covenant? Elders? Adam's interest was piqued. He felt that the former might be related to the secrets of the dragon plane, and the latter must be an extraordinary creature. Moreover, it must be in a very bad state. Otherwise, it wouldn't have remained hidden when he came knocking on its door.
"What is the ancient covenant?" Adam asked curiously.
The werewolf leader was stunned, "You don't know? You're not an adult yet? "
Oh? So it was also a part of the inheritance knowledge. Moreover, it was something that could only be unlocked after reaching adulthood.
With that thought in mind, Adam nodded seriously, "Of course not. I'm only eight years old this year."
"Eight years old? No wonder your draconic aura didn't awaken the elders. A mere young dragon dared to break the covenant and kill a werewolf. I'll kill you, I'll kill you! " The werewolf leader roared into the sky, his elemental aura surging. An ice storm shot out from his mouth and rushed towards Adam. The rest of the werewolves received the order to attack and simultaneously transformed, waving their sharp teeth and claws as they leaped into the sky amidst the ear-piercing howls.
In their stupid minds, it never occurred to them that an eight-year-old young dragon could grow to such a huge size.
Adam flapped his dragon wings in the air and blew away the ice storm. Then, a "Draconic Magic" that the werewolves had never seen before appeared behind him. Frost condensed into squares that densely covered the sky. Within the squares were rows of black holes, and in each of the holes were the aura of the ice element.
The werewolf leader instinctively sensed danger. The tone of the wolf's howl changed, and the werewolves spread out. However, the rising momentum did not stop.
Adam looked at the ninety-nine multi-barrel rocket launchers beside him with satisfaction. He wagged his tail and said, "Try my new magic, Elemental Cannon."
