Chapter 268: My Relationship With Him

‘Master was actually telling the truth. He really came?’

Hearing the announcement from the attendant outside, Chi Huang’s heart skipped a beat.

It felt like a stone had been tossed into a still lake, sending ripples through her entire being.

She suppressed the urge to rush out immediately.

Instead, she cautiously tilted her head, using the corner of her eye to peek at her Master, Chi Hong.

Chi Hong remained seated behind the Warm Jade Desk, holding a Jade Slip.

On the surface, she appeared calm and composed, even wearing the focused expression she usually held when handling official clan business.

However, Chi Huang’s sharp intuition told her otherwise.

While her Master’s gaze seemed fixed on the Jade Slip, her eyes were actually static and unfocused.

She was clearly staring at a random pattern on the slip’s surface while her mind was elsewhere.

‘Such a hypocrite,’ Chi Huang grumbled inwardly.

‘She’s clearly looking forward to it, yet she still puts on the act of a calm and collected Clan Leader.’

“Master.” She cleared her throat to get her attention, her voice laced with unmistakable excitement.

With her hands clasped behind her back, she gave Chi Hong a playful wink.

“Jiang Huai is here.”

Chi Hong seemed to snap out of it at the sound of her voice. Her eyes flickered as she returned to reality.

She set down the Jade Slip and gave a light cough to mask her momentary lapse in composure.

A playful, teasing smile appeared on her face.

“I thought that with your personality, you wouldn’t have been able to stop yourself from running out to meet him as soon as you heard the announcement.”

She paused, her finger tapping lightly against the desk.

She gave her order in a leisurely tone.

“Go out and announce that I am currently in a state of secluded meditation. I am at a critical juncture and will not see any outside guests today. Go.”

“Huh?” Chi Huang’s eyes widened in disbelief. “Why, Master? Aren’t we going to invite him in? Why do this?”

Weren’t the two of them waiting here specifically for Jiang Huai to show up? Now that he had actually arrived, why were they closing the doors and lying to drive him away? Even if it were a common guest, the Red Dragon Clan’s hospitality wouldn’t be this cold.

Chi Hong remained unfazed. She looked back at the Jade Slip, her elegant brows arching as a smile played in her eyes.

“Are you going to listen to me or not? Do you listen to your Master, or do you listen to him? Speak.”

Chi Huang stammered for a moment, standing her ground with a fidgety, shy expression. “I… I listen to Master.”

Her Master had invested a great deal of effort and energy into nurturing her, and she was usually showered with affection.

She couldn’t very well say she had forgotten her Master just because she liked someone.

“That’s more like it. I will give you 7 minutes. If you are not back by then, I will sentence you to solitary confinement.” Chi Hong withdrew her gaze and spoke leisurely, looking completely at ease.

“What?! Why?!” Chi Huang was genuinely anxious now, her disappointment written all over her face.

Not only was she forbidden from letting him in, but she was also being timed? And solitary confinement for being late?

“Don’t ask so many questions. Just go.” Chi Hong frowned and waved her hand dismissively, no longer looking at her.

Chi Huang muttered under her breath in dissatisfaction, but she had no choice.

Her eyes darted around, and she suddenly began to undo the complex Jade Belt at her waist.

Rustle, rustle.

The sound of fabric rubbing together filled the room.

Chi Huang moved quickly, shedding her outer robe to reveal the form-fitting undergarments that hugged her curvaceous, proud figure.

Her slender curves were on full display, and her long, shapely, white legs peeked out from beneath the hem of her inner wear.

This time, she had clearly learned her lesson from when she was outperformed by her Master on Jiang Huai’s bed.

She had specially trimmed her red hair, making it neat, supple, and perfectly sparse to outline a seductive and cute contour.

“What are you doing?!” Chi Hong frowned and looked over, a flash of impatience in her eyes.

“Didn’t I tell you to go out and make the announcement? Why are you taking off your clothes?”

“Can’t I change into something nicer before I go?” Chi Huang retorted indignantly.

She spread out her ornate and solemn Holy Maiden of the Crimson Dragon attire while holding an exquisite Red Dragon hairpin against her head to test the look. “I have to be presentable when seeing a guest.”

Chi Hong huffed and tapped the table.

“I said I’m giving you 7 minutes. How you spend them is up to you. If you exceed 7 minutes, you’ll be in confinement to reflect on your actions.”

Hearing this, Chi Huang grew even more frustrated.

As she hurriedly tried to pull the complicated long dress over her body, she spoke out of spite.

“Fine! 7 minutes it is! I won’t wear these troublesome clothes then! I’ll just go out and see him in my undergarments! That’ll save time and guarantee I’m back within 7 minutes so Master has no excuse to lock me up!”

She became more reckless with her words as she continued. “It’s not like it’s a big deal! Back in the Secret Realm, he already saw everything—ah!”

*Bang!*

With a dull thud, Chi Hong slammed her palm onto the Warm Jade Desk. The force was so great that the brush rack on the desk jumped.

Her expression had turned completely cold. Her Dragon Eyes radiated authority as she glared at her loose-tongued disciple.

As the Saintess of the Red Dragon Clan, how could she say something as absurd as “going to see an outsider in her undergarments”? If word got out, where would the Red Dragon Clan’s dignity go?

The sound made Chi Huang shrink her neck.

Realizing she had misspoken, she didn’t dare talk back.

Subconsciously protecting her backside, she used her Lingli to quickly put on her magnificent dress and red silk socks before fleeing the room as if escaping for her life.

Chi Hong watched her restless disciple and sighed inwardly. She realized that the future of the Red Dragon Clan really might have to be tied to the Yin-Yang Body.

The generations were truly declining.

She was nowhere near as disciplined as her own Master had been, and now it seemed Chi Huang was far less composed than she was.

“Young Lord Jiang, sorry to keep you waiting.”

In the Guest Hall of the Red Dragon Clan, Chi Huang walked in slowly. Her pace was still brisk and carried a hint of sharp energy, her Dragon Eyes looking fierce.

Although the Red Dragon Clan had moved to the White Dragon Secret Realm, they clearly possessed their own Space Treasure.

This Guest Hall was proof of that; the Qi here was boiling with heat, making the atmosphere very warm. Jiang Huai liked it quite a bit.

Upon hearing Chi Huang’s voice, he withdrew his gaze and stood up.

He smiled at her. “You didn’t keep me waiting long. You arrived very quickly, Saintess Chi Huang.”

Qin Xuange, who had been standing by Jiang Huai’s side the entire time without sitting, also looked toward Chi Huang with a cold expression.

When Chi Huang saw Jiang Huai, she first offered a generous smile. However, when her gaze shifted to Qin Xuange, her lips twitched, and a flash of coldness crossed her eyes.

‘Why did this woman come too? I’ll just pretend I don’t see her.’

She naturally took her seat at the head of the hall.

Sitting upright and elegant, she asked softly, “I wonder what brings Young Lord Jiang here for a visit? If there is anything you need, my Red Dragon Clan will certainly do our best to help.”

A slightly awkward atmosphere lingered between the two.

After all, the last time they met, the Master and disciple had been nearly naked, kneeling by his bed to confess their feelings.

However, Jiang Huai had been unwilling to accept them at the time. Moreover, the atmosphere had been ruined by Su Yingman’s timely arrival, and the matter had been dropped.

Qin Xuange observed the tension.

She realized that something must have happened between the three of them during this period.

Jiang Huai’s eyes were full of avoidance, while Chi Huang was staring at him with burning eyes, as if she wanted to devour him whole.

“Young Lord Jiang has come this time to visit Clan Leader Chi Hong,” Qin Xuange spoke up from the side before Jiang Huai could open his mouth.

Chi Huang’s face turned cold.

She shifted her eyes to Qin Xuange and noticed that she was standing right next to Jiang Huai instead of sitting.

Feeling suspicious, she spoke coldly, “I was asking Jiang Huai a question. Why are you sticking your nose in?”

“What? Are you the one visiting the Red Dragon Clan today?”

‘Why is this woman so annoying?’

Qin Xuange wasn’t provoked.

A faint smile played on her lips, replacing her previous disdain.

She said softly, “My man finds it inconvenient to speak, so naturally, I will speak for him. It seems Saintess Chi Huang is still unaware of the relationship between us two?”

Chi Huang’s expression changed violently.

A storm erupted in her heart, and she clenched her jaw so hard her back teeth nearly shattered. She looked at Jiang Huai in disbelief, wanting a definitive answer.

‘What on earth happened between you while I was with Master in the clan? Didn’t you refuse me and Master? Why did you accept her?’

First, he had chosen Chi Lian over her, and now he had chosen Qin Xuange over her and her Master?

Chi Huang took a deep breath.

She was so infuriated by Qin Xuange’s smug look that she actually laughed out loud.

With a voice full of pent-up frustration, she asked Jiang Huai, “And just what is this relationship?”

Jiang Huai opened his mouth, wanting to explain, but Qin Xuange’s Soul Transmission reached his ears:

‘Young Lord Jiang, didn’t we agree that you wouldn’t expose our true relationship and would leave me some dignity? You wouldn’t say anything at a time like this, right?’
