Chapter 357: What's Wrong with You?
Chapter 357: What's Wrong with You?
“What do we do now? Should we call Jiang Huai out?” Qin Xuange asked with doubt. “We don’t know what level his cultivation has reached.”
The mention of Jiang Huai clearly struck a nerve in Qin Qingyue, like someone stepping on a dragon’s tail. She reacted sharply:
“Of course not! Let Jiang Huai take you and that cheap daughter, along with Su Yingman, Zhu Siyao, Tang Zhaoxue, and Chi Lian, and run!”
Qin Qingyue’s thought was obvious: Jiang Zhun must be the last to appear, and ideally, he would reach the Great Ascension Stage.
‘If Wu Zhaohua were also here, the two of them might be able to sweep away the Heavenly Demons together and restore peace to the Five Provinces. Later, when Jiang Huai leads them to ascend to the Immortal Realm, the two of them can live their own lives in the Immortal Realm—that’s the best outcome!’
As for everyone else, except for the few women she later acknowledged in the Nine Heavens Palace, Qin Qingyue didn’t care about them at all.
Back when she was bullied and despised by the entire world, she owed no gratitude to this world.
In other words, she hated this world and still harbored resentment.
If not for Jiang Huai, she would still be an Evil Dragon. Who would care about the calamities of the Five Provinces?
“Master, then let’s just call Jiang Huai to run now. What are we waiting for?” Qin Xuange muttered. “I’m not running anyway. The entire Black Dragon Clan is here—how could I escape alone?”
“I won’t run. Let Jiang Huai run.”
Qin Qingyue knew her husband well and said with some difficulty:
“I’m worried he won’t run.”
Outside the Secret Realm, White Dew had already charged forward, joining the chaotic battle against the three Extraterrestrial Demons.
Ji, Jue, Wu.
Three humanoid black shadows, completely pitch-black, faceless, only having human silhouettes.
Their speed was astonishing. Every strike carried destructive Demonic Qi.
White Dew was completely suppressed, and Chi Hong was also being crushed.
White Dew’s sword slashed across Ji, leaving only a shallow mark. Ji waved a hand casually, and White Dew was sent staggering back several zhang, blood trickling from the corner of her mouth.
The other cultivators fared even worse. A human cultivator at the Great Ascension Stage charged forward, but before he could get close, Jue pointed at him and turned him into black ash with a single finger.
A Dragon Race Elder transformed into a dragon form and lunged at Wu, only to be sent flying by a palm strike, his dragon body exploding midair.
The three demons advanced toward the Secret Realm entrance in an unstoppable fashion, leaving a trail of fallen cultivators in their wake. Blood stained the ground.
White Dew gasped, steeled herself, bit the tip of her tongue, and smeared her sword with Essence Blood. A surging aura of blood erupted.
The white longsword blazed with a blinding blood light. She thrust fiercely, the sword light like a rainbow, straight at Ji’s face.
Ji sidestepped, then struck White Dew’s shoulder with a palm. The sound of bone cracking was clear.
White Dew groaned and flew backward, twisting in midair to land unsteadily.
Suddenly, she felt a gaze. She turned her head to look behind her.
Jianjia stood far away, tears welling up as she stared at her.
That little face was full of heartache, her lips trembling, her small hands tightly clutching the hem of White Sandalwood’s clothes.
White Dew’s heart softened. Her usually cold expression could no longer be maintained. A look of sorrow rose on her face. She bit her red lips until they turned white.
‘In the Primordial Era, she had watched her mother’s back like this—that woman in white, standing in front of her, then falling. Now, her daughter was about to repeat the same fate.’
Generation after generation. A sense of powerlessness surged in White Dew’s heart. ‘What difference is there now from the Primordial Era?’
“Run, Jianjia. Run far away, escape from fate,” White Dew said softly. “Let your father take good care of you for me.”
“I love you both.”
She turned abruptly, facing the three invincible Extraterrestrial Demons. Her eyes were sharp, her black hair lifting without wind, her aura intimidating.
‘I must cripple at least one of these Heavenly Demons! I must do it, no matter the cost!’
“Mother! Mother!” Jianjia reached out and shouted, her voice piercing, tears streaming down her face.
White Dew formed hand seals in front of her, roaring as blood flowed from her seven orifices. She transformed into a beam of blood light and charged at Ji.
The blood light was blazing and decisive, carrying the tragic aura of burning her Life Source Essence.
Ji clearly sensed a fearless, death-defying aura coming at him and involuntarily stepped back.
The other two black shadows, Jue and Wu, suddenly turned into black liquid, stopped tangling with Chi Hong, and rapidly merged into Ji’s body.
Chi Hong struck empty air, her Dragon Claw grasping nothing.
Ji’s form swelled, and his aura surged.
The blood light collided with Ji. The shockwave spread, lifting the ground, sending rubble flying, the light dazzling. Jianjia covered her eyes.
The Extraterrestrial Demon stiffened for an instant, letting out a piercing wail that sounded like ten thousand ghosts crying in unison.
White Dew was blasted away, covered in blood, like a kite with a broken string, drawing a tragic arc in the air.
Qin Qingyue quickly flew over, steadying White Dew’s body. One arm wrapped around White Dew’s waist, the other supporting her head.
“Are you all right?” she asked urgently.
White Dew’s face was covered in blood, her features unrecognizable. She collapsed in Qin Qingyue’s arms and murmured:
“Is that Qin Qingyue?”
“Yes, it’s me.” Qin Qingyue answered immediately.
White Dew mustered her last bit of strength. She grabbed Qin Qingyue’s hand—her fingers icy cold, her nails caked with blood—and said excitedly:
“Take my child and Jiang Zhun and run. Take them and get out.”
“Jianjia’s surname is Jiang. Let her call you mother from now on. Hurry and take her away.”
“I don’t want my child to end up like me.”
The moment she finished speaking, the three black shadows separated again and charged at White Dew in unison.
Ji’s hand turned into a blade, pitch-black like ink, stabbing straight at her.
Even Qin Qingyue’s heart skipped a beat at this strike. She was about to leap away with White Dew in her arms.
Suddenly, a furious roar came from deep within the Secret Realm:
“Stop!”
A Yin-Yang Flying Sword shot out, as fast as lightning, severing Ji’s blade with one strike.
The blade dissolved into black smoke. The Yin-Yang Flying Sword did not lose momentum and pinned itself into the ground, the blade humming.
Qin Qingyue spun her head sharply, holding White Dew tighter.
With a thunderous roar, a huge sound erupted.
A pillar of light suddenly rose from deep within the Secret Realm—black and white intertwined, the five elements swirling in cyan, red, yellow, white, and black—a cycle of five colors.
The light pillar shot straight into the sky, illuminating the entire gray sky and dispelling most of the Demonic Qi.
A man in a black robe, holding a longsword, stepped out of the pillar of light, walking through the void.
His black hair fluttered, his expression stern, his robe billowing without wind. His eyes—one yin, one yang; the left eye pure white, the right eye pitch-black—radiated an aura far surpassing everyone present.
Each step he took in the void sent out a rippling circle.
“Jiang Huai…” Su Yingman sat up abruptly, supported by Zhu Siyao, staring at that figure and murmuring.
Her pink dress was stained with blood, her face pale, but now it shone with brightness.
Chi Hong transformed back into her human form. Her voluptuous body was covered in wounds, but her eyes were full of surprise and joy.
“Father! They all bullied Mother!” Jianjia shouted toward the pillar of light, her voice choked with tears.
Jiang Huai formed yang in his left hand and yin in his right. The yang hand was blazing white, the yin hand pitch-black. He abruptly unleashed a Taiji Diagram—massive, spanning the sky, black and white flowing, yin and yang rotating. He pushed it forward with a bang.
“Scram!”
Wherever the Taiji Diagram passed, all demons were annihilated.
One after another, Heavenly Demons turned to ashes in the power of yin and yang, not even having time to scream.
The ground was plowed into a deep trench extending to the horizon. Ji, Jue, and Wu immediately merged into a single black shadow and fled at high speed, barely dodging that attack.
“Has he truly achieved the Male Yin-Yang Body at the Great Ascension Stage?” Ji’s voice carried disbelief. The black shadow trembled in the distance.
This was an innate fear of the Yin-Yang Body felt by Extraterrestrial Demons, especially when facing a Great Ascension Stage Yin-Yang Body.
Jiang Huai slowly floated down beside White Dew, crouched, and placed his hand on her wrist. Two fingers pressed on her pulse as he gently channeled Lingli into her.
Black-and-white Lingli flowed along her meridians into White Dew’s body. Life Force rapidly recovered, wounds began to heal, and her pale lips regained color.
“Have you reached the Great Ascension Stage?” White Dew covered her face with her hands, as if she didn’t want her beloved to see her in such a miserable state.
From between her fingers, one reddened eye peeked out.
Jiang Huai smiled and nodded gently. “Mm. Don’t worry.”
“I’ll handle everything.”
Qin Qingyue kept scrutinizing Jiang Huai. Her Dragon Eyes swept up and down, her brows tightly furrowed. She suddenly grabbed his arm and demanded urgently:
“What’s wrong with you? What happened?”
“Tell me quickly! Now!”
She realized—Jiang Huai was not at the Great Ascension Stage.
