AFTERWORD

Hello, I’m Yoshino Origuchi.

This will be my first time appearing in DASH X Bunko. Thank you, everyone—I look forward to continuing to work with them.

I’m finally able to write something related to monster girls.

I’ve written close to twenty books by now, but since around the time I wrote Sister Succubus Does Not Confess for Dengki Bunko, I’ve been obsessed with doing something with monster girls or some other kind of non-human girl stories.

Because I had a connection with DASH X Bunko, I was fortunate enough to be published there. If you enjoyed the book, then I’m happy.

Incidentally, I wrote the plot while watching the Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls anime.

I wrote the book itself while listening to the Monster Musume anime character songs.

I revised it while listening to the Monster Musume radio CD.

I went over the illustrations while playing Monster Musume Online.

And now, I am writing this afterword as I play the MonMusume Harem social network game.

Jeez—guess I’m totally devoted to monster girls, aren’t I?!

“Monster girls” are something new.

Conceptually, however, the category of moe—which it belongs to—existed before monster girls became a thing. I’m sure that many men among us has had their heart skip a beat at the women monsters that show up as enemies in RPGs. Depending on the game, the female-bodied monster enemies can almost be too sexy and make you hesitate to defeat them, right?

Through the new “monster girls” term, the concept was defined, and its moe spread worldwide. The anime adaptation of Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls is the most extreme example, I think. Tsundere was the same way. A concept becomes fixed to a certain shape by associating it with a particular word.

I think that monster girls are a type of moe that have a long way to go.

However, the existence of lamia and mermaids comes from the age of myth. Isn’t that proof itself that inside a primitive part of mankind, there exists an instinct that attracts us to these monster-girl-related stories?

From here on out, I think that I would like to cherish monster girls, both as part of my instincts and as a gentleman.

Now, then, to give my thanks.

To my editor, Hibiu-san. With your prompt, accurate, and splendid work ethic, you’ve made my work extremely easy to complete. I truly want to thank you. I’m truly grateful that you told me to write whatever monster girl-related project that I wanted to work on.

I really did indulge in my monster girl interests when writing this… Are you sure it was all right to let me do that?

To Z-ton-san, who provided the book with their illustrations! Thank you so much for not only undertaking the project, but for drawing a wall scroll illustration, as well. Because you provided me the illustrations early on in the project, I was able to experience writing the book while looking at the character rough drafts for practically the first time ever. Thanks to this, I feel I was able to portray them with a deeper root in their designs.

I have the wall scroll hanging in my room. Boobs, wonderful boobs!

To Okayado-sensei for his comments on the Japanese edition’s obi strip—thank you very much! I can’t believe I got feedback from Okayado-sensei himself… I will take this opportunity to work even harder and to connect the world with monster girls.

Or rather, if anything, I’d like to inject myself with monster girls, Sensei.

To all the monster-girl-loving creators who always hang out with me: thank you for going along with my morbid stories in our LINE chats. I expect I will continue to talk about nothing but monster girls from here on out, but I hope that you will still continue to entertain my stories.

Other than that, I would like to give my utmost gratitude to my family for always casually giving me suitable material for my stories, to my proofreaders for perfectly pointing out every last little detail, and lastly, more than anyone, to all of you for reading this book.

Oh, if there is another volume, a big-breasted glasses monster girl is going to make an appearance, as well (or at least, that’s my plan).

Please look forward to it.
