Volume 3, Chapter 331 – The Chi Family’s Alliance with the Demon Tribe
“Seventh Realm?!”
“How are you in the Seventh Realm?!”
Lu Guan’s eyes were wide with shock.
He was the head disciple of the Lingxiao Sword Sect’s sect master, and his own talent was already considered exceptional. Yet even so, he had been stuck at the Sixth Realm for a very, very long time, unable to find even the faintest path toward the Seventh. Among the Seven Sword Sects, there were many gifted disciples just like him, all trapped at the same threshold.
But the girl standing before him. How old was she?
The fire at the Chi family home, Chi Muxue wandering from the Chi Family Ancestral Home until now. It had only been sixteen or seventeen years.
A Seventh Realm cultivator at sixteen or seventeen years old. Was something like that even possible?
Lu Guan had spent so many years at Lingxiao Sword Sect and had never once heard of such a thing. He lifted his head, his face drained of color, and asked, “Are you truly… a daughter of the Chi family?”
Lu Zhuxin tilted her head and smiled.
“The genuine article.”
Bu Lianshuang shifted her steps and slowly moved to Lu Zhuxin’s side.
Just moments ago, seeing the fox miss struggling against Lu Guan, Shuang’er had charged forward without a second thought. It was only after Lu Guan went flying from a single flick of the fox miss’s finger that Shuang’er remembered: the fox miss was a Seventh Realm cultivator.
Whatever weakness the fox clan had in combat, that cultivation level still stood.
And yet.
Bu Lianshuang studied Lu Zhuxin’s profile, something more complicated than before flickering behind her eyes.
After watching that fight, her understanding of the fox clan’s poor combat ability had deepened considerably.
The fox miss. Was genuinely terrible at fighting.
In Bu Lianshuang’s assessment, the fox miss’s technique throughout that exchange had been nowhere near the standard expected of a great demon in the Seventh Realm. Even if she had deliberately suppressed her cultivation to use Lu Guan as a whetstone for her sword, a Seventh Realm cultivator’s perception and reflexes still surpassed those of the Sixth Realm.

And yet across the entire fight, the fox miss had barely managed to gain even a hair’s advantage in direct exchanges.
Shuang’er had watched her charge in with complete confidence, and assumed she was about to demonstrate what she had been practicing in sword cultivation lately. She had not expected the result to be what it was.
“Xin’er…” Bu Lianshuang looked at Lu Zhuxin’s profile, choosing her words carefully. “You only just began learning swordsmanship. He is a Lingxiao Sword Sect elder who has studied the sword for hundreds of years. Not being his match… is perfectly normal.”
“Hm?” Lu Zhuxin looked up at her, smile unchanged. “Your Highness, what are you talking about?”
“The one lying on the ground right now. Isn’t that him?”
“Hm?”
Lu Zhuxin’s voice lifted on that last syllable, light and playful.
Bu Lianshuang blinked.
She caught a glimpse of the fox miss’s sly side. The fox miss was quite cute like this too.
So what if the fox clan was weaker in battle? Once I reach the Seventh Realm, I can stay by the fox miss’s side and protect her!
The thought had barely surfaced when, from the corner of her eye, Shuang’er caught Lu Guan opening his mouth and spitting out a beam of sword light that shot straight toward Lu Zhuxin.
“Watch out!” Bu Lianshuang immediately stepped forward.
She raised both fists, gathering wind into the shape of a wolf shadow.
It collided hard against the beam of sword light Lu Guan had released.
With a boom, Bu Lianshuang was sent flying by the force of his sword qi.
Lu Zhuxin’s gaze sharpened. “You want to die.”
She barked the words and flung the sword in her hand.
The blade drove clean through Lu Guan’s chest, and the force behind it pinned him to the ground.

“ Cough, cough …”
Lu Guan coughed up blood. The wound in his chest, skewered through, was welling up and flowing freely.
His spirit sea had been pierced. He had completely lost the ability to fight.
“ Cough, cough … a wolf clan member, of all things…”
Lu Guan’s eyes fixed on Bu Lianshuang with a hard, locked stare.
He had not expected it. The seemingly ordinary maidservant was a wolf demon at the Fifth Realm.
“When did the Chi family… start colluding with the wolf clan?!”
“Ah, I didn’t think you’d figure that out.” Lu Zhuxin’s smile went cold. “But what can you do about it?”
“A dead man, even knowing the Chi family’s secrets. What of it?”
“You won’t have the chance to tell anyone.”
“ Cough, cough … little girl…” Lu Guan, still coughing blood, drew out a formation plate.
He sneered. “You may not know this, but in addition to being a sword cultivator, I am also a formation master.”
“Did you think that trapping me inside a formation would be enough to keep me from passing on information?”
“You’ve underestimated me.”
Before his words had even finished, Lu Guan raised the formation plate high above his head.
“The Chi family is in league with the wolf clan. They murder in open streets. They harbor ambitions of treason. I will transmit every word of this without missing a single one!”
Crack. The formation plate shattered.

It became a streak of flowing light that pierced through the restraining formation surrounding them and shot high into the sky.
And with it, a voice detonated across the sky above Beihe Commandery.
“The Chi family is in league with the wolf clan. Murder in open streets! Contempt for law, harboring treason!”
“The Chi family is in league with the wolf clan. Murder in open streets! Contempt for law, harboring treason!”
Lu Guan’s voice rang and echoed over the city. In an instant, it drew the attention of countless people.
When it was done, Lu Guan looked at Lu Zhuxin with a cold smile. “Soon, everyone will know what the Chi family has been doing behind closed doors.”
“Your Chi family. Is finished.”
Lu Zhuxin watched his miserable state, and the corner of her mouth slowly curled.
“Are you done?” she said lightly. “Then your role here is finished as well.”
Lu Guan stared at her, uneasy and uncertain.
What was this? Why was she reacting this way?
Did the Chi family not care at all that this secret had been exposed?
No. Something was wrong. Something felt off.
Lu Guan felt, distantly, like he was about to grasp something.
But then he heard Lu Zhuxin say, “Your Highness, I’ll leave what comes next to you.”
“I don’t much like killing people.”
“Understood.” Bu Lianshuang nodded.
This kind of task shouldn’t fall to the fox miss anyway. How could she let filth like this dirty the fox miss’s hands?

Bu Lianshuang extended her claws and struck down hard at Lu Guan.
Lu Guan tried to raise his hand to defend himself, but at this point, he could no longer draw upon any spiritual energy.
A sword cultivator’s body was strong, but compared to a demon clan member with exceptional natural gifts, it still fell short by a margin.
With a crack. Bu Lianshuang crushed Lu Guan’s skull.
A generation of sword cultivators. His life, ended completely.
“Xin’er.” Bu Lianshuang looked toward Lu Zhuxin. “You let him send that message out on purpose?”
Lu Zhuxin smiled. “Your Highness, what do you think?”
…
Elsewhere, Chi Xiyan walked with a composed expression, leading a group of people toward the city gate at a brisk pace.
Beside her, Song Shutao watched her profile, wanting to say something but stopping herself each time.
The atmosphere was not right just now, and she did not know what to say.
Then, directly ahead of them, a streak of divine light shot toward the sky.
A moment later, Lu Guan’s voice carried from a distance.
“The Chi family is in league with the wolf clan. Murder in open streets! Contempt for law, harboring treason!”
The thunderous voice echoed back and forth across the city, loud enough that nearly all of Beihe Commandery could hear it.
In an instant, Chi Xiyan’s expression changed completely.
“Something has gone wrong.”
