Volume 3, Chapter 457 – What a Display of Sisterly Devotion!
Hearing this, Chi Xiyan looked at the girl ahead of her with a face full of worry.
Chi Muxue’s maiden Primordial Yin had been taken by her.
It was precisely because she had harvested Chi Muxue’s Primordial Yin that she’d been able to advance to mid Fifth Realm in such a short span of time.
The art of harvesting and replenishing was a heterodox technique.
Had she not been driven to the brink of desperation, Chi Xiyan never would have used such a technique.
But she hadn’t expected this secret to be exposed directly by Qu Qingtang.
As Qu Qingtang’s question fell, countless disbelieving gazes around them converged on Chi Muxue.
Song Shixuan flew into a rage. He pointed at Chi Muxue and cursed. “You shameless, fickle bitch!”
“To think I actually thought of you as the Song family’s future wife!”
“Don’t you know you already have a marriage engagement?”
“How could you do something so utterly without shame!”
“Truly disgraceful!”
“You’ve thrown away every last shred of the Chi family’s honor!”
Even the young disciples watching from the sidelines began whispering among themselves.
“I never would have guessed. She looked so pure and sweet, but underneath it all she’s this kind of person.”
“You really can’t judge a person by their looks.”
“Wait, hold on, last time I ran into her at the sect, she even greeted me… brothers, I didn’t catch some kind of disease from her, did I?”
All manner of filthy remarks kept surfacing one after another.
Chi Xiyan’s expression grew uglier by the moment.
Qu Qingtang’s voice sounded again. “So that’s how it is… you gave your body to her.”
Suddenly, Chi Xiyan felt the temperature around her being rapidly drawn away.

“Qu Qingtang!” The girl in white ahead of her suddenly stepped forward.
The spiritual pressure dispersed, and Chi Xiyan instantly felt the weight on her body ease once more.
Chi Muxue raised her head, looking far into the distance toward the snowy peak. “Whatever quarrel you have, direct it at me.”
Qu Qingtang laughed coldly. “You actually gave your maidenhood to a woman?”
“Women loving women defies yin and yang.”
“Chi Muxue, I am truly disappointed in you.”
At that moment Song Shixuan shouted as well. “Master! It’s not only yin and yang they’ve defied!”
“This Chi Xiyan woman is Chi Muxue’s own blood kin!”
“They’ve also violated the fundamental bonds of human relations!”
That single sentence struck the crowd like a bolt of thunder.
The way everyone looked at the two of them shifted once more.
Women loving women was already taboo. Sisters loving each other was outright immoral.
Every gaze filled with shock, and quickly, that shock curdled into disgust.
“Good heavens! I thought that girl was simply loose!”
“I never imagined they had that kind of relationship!”
“Reality is far more absurd than any storybook!”
“How disgusting. How can such people even exist in this world?”
Chi Xiyan’s body trembled faintly.
Those cruel, ugly words struck her eardrums one after another without pause.
Those looks, as though staring at something filthy, pierced through Chi Xiyan’s body like so many blades.

This was a scene she had once imagined. It was also the thing she had feared most.
And now.
Scorn, accusation, contempt, mockery. Everything she had once only imagined was now unfolding before her eyes as reality.
Chi Xiyan tightened her fists. She raised her head and looked at the girl before her with worry.
The scene playing out now was exactly the reason she had never allowed herself to face her own feelings.
She hadn’t wanted her own dark, selfish desires to place Muxue in a position like this, spat upon by ten thousand mouths and condemned by a thousand fingers.
Her sister was a Sword Dao Sacred Body, the future Sword Dao Sovereign.
Loving women, and loving her own sister no less, would inevitably stain her future.
This was not what Chi Xiyan wanted to see.
“Sister…”
Chi Muxue suddenly tightened her grip on Chi Xiyan’s hand.
“Don’t be afraid. I don’t care about any of this.”
Chi Xiyan froze for a moment. “But your reputation…”
“Sister.” Chi Muxue cut her off. “Just look at the people standing before us.”
“This towering Lingxiao Sect is nothing but a pack of shameless bullies who prey on the weak and revel in wrongdoing.”
“Why should you care what idle gossip such people spread?”
“Heh…” Qu Qingtang’s cold laughter sounded once more. “What a display of sisterly devotion.”
“What a splendid, forbidden romance, heedless of all worldly propriety.”
“Are the two of you finished with this shameless little performance?”
“Since you’ve finished, then you may as well stay here on this snowy peak.”

As Qu Qingtang’s voice fell, crystalline shards of sword qi began condensing in midair.
Within mere breaths, directly above Lingxiao Snow Peak, a colossal sword of frozen ice a hundred zhang long took shape.
Chi Xiyan’s expression changed drastically.
She could feel the terrifying sword qi condensed within that ice.
The strongest sword cultivator in this world, Immortal Venerable Qingzhi, had actually disregarded the difference in rank and struck at two juniors with her own hands.
“Watch out!”
Chi Xiyan hastily called out a warning.
The sect disciples nearby, upon noticing what was happening, scattered backward in a frantic retreat.
Even Song Shixuan was hauled away from the battlefield by the scruff of his neck by one of the sect elders.
And yet, astonishingly, the girl in white standing in the midst of it all remained calm and composed even as she faced the assault of a Venerable Sage powerhouse.
She simply shielded Chi Xiyan behind her.
Then she raised her sword to meet the earth shattering blade Qu Qingtang was bringing down.
The sword in her hand measured no more than a few feet. Before the blade hundreds of meters long hanging in the sky, it looked as insignificant as an ant.
No one believed she could possibly stand against a Venerable Sage.
Including Chi Xiyan.
The two swords collided in an instant, and a thunderous roar erupted across the snowy peak.
The violent shockwave nearly overturned the entire sect.
A howling gale swept through, and the shockwave, spreading outward like rippling water, tore toward the sect disciples fleeing into the distance.
“Form ranks, defend!”
Barriers of light dropped down, colliding head on with the scattering shockwave.

But the defensive formation held for only a few breaths before shattering completely.
Disciples with weaker cultivation coughed up blood and collapsed unconscious on the spot.
And so, within just a few breaths.
No one dared to stay near.
The sect disciples who still remained hovered in the air, watching from a distance.
“Is it over?”
“Is this the power of a Venerable Sage’s strike?”
“With power like that, that woman must have been cut down by the Immortal Venerable.”
While everyone watched and waited.
Chi Xiyan finally found a moment to breathe, coughing painfully.
During that last impact, she had been sheltering right behind Chi Muxue, at the very center of the clash between the two of them.
The force unleashed when those two heaven and earth spanning powers collided had nearly ground her bones to dust.
“Chi Muxue!”
Chi Xiyan’s mind cleared, and she hurriedly looked at the girl in front of her.
Chi Muxue still stood tall and straight, her moon white robes stirring without any wind.
She looked as though the attack a moment ago had left no mark on her at all.
Only Chi Xiyan knew that the hand gripping the sword was trembling faintly.
“Qu Qingtang!” Chi Muxue braced herself upright and laughed loudly. “Even now, you still won’t show your true self.”
“Just as I thought.”
“The grave wounds from your battle with the Demon Sovereign still haven’t healed, have they!”
