Captain – Chapter 138 – The Battle Plan
Captain – Chapter 138 – The Battle Plan
Well-trained maids quickly entered, soon replacing the cold steak and cutlery with fresh ones. As the young man lowered his head again and began tackling this delicacy laced with blood and expensive spices, the negotiation between the power holders of the Mermaid and the Constantine began to get on track.
“Everyone understands that trust is the foundation of negotiation, so I hope gentlemen can set aside prejudices and turn their attention to our true enemy.”
Cassius tapped the table, drawing everyone’s gaze to himself: “The powerful, cold-blooded, devilishly terrifying Captain Roy—now that’s truly a remarkable character.”
Upon hearing the young man’s description of that captain, the Constantine’s crew exchanged glances, their expressions becoming grave. Even Randall, who originally disliked Cassius, settled down and showed a serious expression.
Seeing the effect produced by the former captain’s reputation, Cassius nodded with satisfaction, then raised one finger: “It seems that gentlemen are just like me, deeply wary of that devil. Then what follows becomes much simpler.”
“First, everyone needs to reach a consensus: if the Mermaid returns to the Golden-Eyed Devil’s control, we so-called traitors will naturally be crushed to dust with nowhere to bury our remains, but the Constantine’s days will certainly not be any better.”
“Let’s not even mention how you gentlemen would have to slink away from Yadris again. I fear even the intelligence about your secret location in Bone Harbor Bay would become known to him. Of course, some of you might think that the bay is an impregnable natural fortress, but…”
Cassius smiled and shook his head: “If that devil cuts off your connection with the outside world, even if you gentlemen have stockpiled large amounts of provisions here, how can you ensure your subordinates won’t mutiny?”
The port built by the Black Emperor possessed a very complete entertainment district, but if the crew knew that their source of food and water had been cut off by a mortal enemy, that they had become trapped beasts in this seemingly beautiful prison, only waiting to starve or die of thirst, or to be torn to pieces by fierce cannon fire, then it seemed no one would have any interest in entertainment anymore.
Constantly shrouded in despair, even if the Black Emperor’s reputation could intimidate for a time, it certainly couldn’t intimidate forever. Then mutiny would become inevitable.

“For this reason, if you gentlemen don’t want to lose the power in your hands, don’t want to be bound by your crew as a submission gift, then we have no choice but to join forces, and Captain Roy… must die.”
His gaze sweeping across the thoughtful crowd, Cassius slapped the table and said coldly: “Decision time. Who has objections?”
No one spoke.
Whether from the Mermaid’s party or the Constantine’s personnel, all stared at the table with grim looks, staring at the intelligence report in the center of the wooden table, as if seeing the person Cassius had described.
Seeing this scene, Solomon smiled and applauded, looking at the young man with extreme appreciation.
After a long while, the Black Emperor’s applause stopped, and he raised his chin slightly: “Agreed.”
Arnold also nodded with a smile: “Agreed.”
With the captain and first mate of the Constantine in agreement, the rest naturally had no objections and one by one expressed their willingness to participate in the battle.
“Very good. To show sincerity, I’ll first tell you gentlemen a top-secret piece of intelligence.”

Cassius spread his hands toward the Black Emperor’s group, the corners of his mouth lifting in a cruel smile: “On the former Mermaid, we made the decision to replace the captain through a vote, and the first to propose this plan…”
“Was Old John.”
“You always manage to surprise me, Cassius.”
Upon hearing this, even Solomon couldn’t help but narrow his eyes and smile somewhat strangely.
Damn, really damn. Roy would never understand to his dying day that the one who stabbed him in the back wasn’t Richi, but that old bastard John Davidson. This was truly wonderful.
“Since the negotiation has concluded successfully, and there’s still some time before the detailed intelligence arrives, dear Captain Solomon, may we have dinner served?” Hearing the collision of cutlery and plates, Cassius’s mouth twitched as he asked politely.
“Oh, this is a huge oversight.”
Solomon looked at Richi, who was focused on his steak, and shook his head with a chuckle.
“Come in, serve the meal… with the best standards.”
The wooden table covered with a snow-white tablecloth was filled with exquisite and luxurious delicacies. Whether it was the golden caviar produced from the Empire’s Tul Island or the premium wine from the Federation’s Witzmer, all required spending great sums of money and effort to establish connections, just to possibly obtain a tiny amount.

But even faced with such treasures, the young man at the table still had no interest in dining. He simply leaned against the chair back, waiting quietly and patiently.
After some time, the door to the room opened.
The young man slightly raised his eyelids, and finding that it wasn’t a maid coming to serve food who entered the room, but rather the “honored guest” he had been waiting for, he sat up straight, the corners of his mouth lifting in a gentle smile.
“Well, the menu looks good tonight.”
Roy walked to her first mate’s side, pulled out a chair and sat down, stuffed the three intelligence pouches tucked at her waist into the young man’s hands, and scanned the surroundings: “Also, where has Anderson gone off to? Back to his quarters?”
“No, he said he wanted to familiarize himself with the working environment first, so he went back to the Osprey with Harriet,” Caine shook his head and explained.
“Then our young master will surely be greatly disappointed.”
Roy poured herself a glass of wine, took a light sip, and smiled, shrugging.
That grand recruitment event had officially concluded yesterday, and because the Osprey was too small, there were only about one hundred and twenty people on board now. The rest had been dispersed and arranged in inconspicuous small inns around Yadris, responsible for monitoring various key routes.

Taking the crystal glass and standing up, Roy walked to the window and looked down through the glass.
This was the best suite on the second floor of the Banshee’s Eye, specially prepared for them by the proprietress. Looking down from above, one could view most of the scenery of the Horn of Plenty.
Observing her fighting experts placed in the streets and alleys, Roy narrowed her eyes with satisfaction. Although her manpower wasn’t enough to control all of Yadris, it was more than sufficient to control the Horn of Plenty and the surrounding residential areas.
“This is?”
Hearing her first mate’s question and the slight sound of the intelligence pouch being opened, the captain, without turning her head, said: “Information about the Mermaid and its important personnel, as well as sailing routes from the past half year—the battle preparation materials you wanted.”
Roy knew the Mermaid’s armament configuration and those old crew members inside out, so naturally didn’t need this intelligence. It was all prepared for the former Auran officer.
His gaze rapidly scanning through the comprehensive documents, Caine seemed to return to his time in the military, preparing for the pre-battle preparations of an impending campaign: “So, Captain, can you tell me your battle plan now?”
Roy lightly tapped the windowsill, turning her face slightly, and said calmly: “Caine, the battle plan is very simple, which is to spare no effort…”
“To get me aboard the Mermaid.”
