Captain – Chapter 632 – First Dinner or Me?
Captain – Chapter 632 – First Dinner or Me?
The top floor… that room?
As the young woman’s words fell, the front desk was plunged into dead silence.
True dead silence—even those few attendants held their breath due to shock and the terror that followed, afraid that any movement would awaken a sleeping lion.
“Captain Roy, you mean…”
The female receptionist thought she had misheard and wanted to confirm with some lingering hope.
But the captain’s brilliant smile and her uncompromising nod still shattered her hopes. The female receptionist couldn’t help but speak with a trembling voice in persuasion.
“But—but you know that room belongs to…”
Though she was trying to persuade, she clearly still lacked the courage to speak that title aloud.
“I know it’s reserved for the Great Captain.”
Seeing this, Roy waved her hand with some impatience: “But please, how many years has it been? Has he ever stepped foot in this place, even in his own residence?”
Though that old man was nominally the undisputed master of Providence, possessing supreme privileges everywhere in this magnificent city.
The pirates had even built him a palace in the city comparable to the Auran Royal Palace.
Yet from beginning to end, he had never set foot in it once.
But even so, Roy’s act of “stealing the magpie’s nest” still made the attendants’ hearts nearly stop beating, and no matter what, they refused to arrange it for her.

In the end, the commotion at the front desk still alarmed the manager who was serving distinguished guests.
So even though the young woman was unwilling, the matter still escalated.
It reached the tavern owner’s ears, then was reported up the chain until it reached that Mr. Monroe. Only after he learned fragments of that storm through certain extremely secret channels and received permission from that person did he allow it.
Back and forth, it took nearly an hour of commotion.
“Creak.”
Accompanied by the crisp sound of the special lock, the oak door carved with wave patterns was slowly pushed open, and this room sealed for who knows how many years finally appeared before their eyes.
However, though no one had lived there for decades, just like the King’s Inn’s careful daily maintenance of the legends’ accommodations, there was no dust or mold in the room.
Moreover, though called a room, it nearly occupied the entire top floor. Combined with its luxurious furnishings, it was simply a palace with its top cut off and flattened somewhat, even containing many astonishing facilities.
Like a study displaying hundreds of ancient books, a large wine cabinet made of special wood, and even more extravagantly, a bath large enough for thirty people to bathe together.
What such a bath was used for… needed no explanation.
It had to be said that in outsiders’ eyes, the Great Captain truly was an emperor in name and reality, and quite possibly a tyrant who held great power but enjoyed indulgence.
One didn’t know whether to say the misunderstanding was too great, or that person was too far removed from the mortal world.
Looking at the young woman who had quickly walked into the room and stood before the floor-to-ceiling windows in the great hall—with a view as broad as a theater’s high platform—with her hands on her hips, sulking by herself, Caine helplessly shook his head, gently closed the door, and came to her side.

“Is it worth being that unhappy?”
Hearing her first mate’s low question, Roy took a deep breath and said softly: “I wouldn’t say I’m angry, it’s just that old man’s attitude is really annoying.”
Thinking of the Great Captain’s patronizing joke brought back by the manager, the young woman grew even more displeased. What did he mean by “just give it to someone drunk on love”?
Still better than you, you ten-thousand-year block of ice.
Hearing the barely suppressed laughter from the young man beside her, the captain glanced at him with a “are you looking for death” expression, then remembered something, and the indignation on her face gradually faded.
Replaced by rich playfulness, like a big bad wolf seeing an innocent white rabbit.
Feeling the young woman’s undisguised intentional gaze and watching her increasingly upturned mouth corners, Caine couldn’t help but shudder and unnaturally rub his nose.
“How about… dinner first?”
Seeing this same excuse again, Roy lightly snorted and turned to step closer to him: “Oh, dinner? Do you need the captain to feed you bite by bite?”
“Or are you saying the dinner you’re referring to is…”
“Me?”
The young man who showed no emotional fluctuation facing storm waves or cannon fire and blades was now slightly startled by the captain’s straightforward behavior.
He instinctively stepped back and finally couldn’t help throwing out his biggest question: “But—but Captain, didn’t you say that before things settled down…”
“You didn’t plan to have children? What if something unexpected happens tonight?”

Not knowing whether her first mate truly had this doubt or thought this was his greatest shield, the young woman lazily narrowed her eyes and looked at him like looking at a fool.
“Did you forget that I once mentioned to you there’s something in the world called ‘little caps,’ specifically to avoid this problem? And quite coincidentally…”
“Whether you need them or not, the King’s Inn keeps dozens in discrete places.”
“You can ask for more if there aren’t enough.”
Watching her first mate’s expression gradually stiffen, Roy found it quite amusing. She leaned forward slightly, striking what she thought was a charming pose that indeed had deadly attraction, and added: “Besides, it would be the same even without those things.”
“With the captain’s current abilities, such problems are child’s play.”
If being a devil didn’t come with such privileges, that would be too shabby.
“So, shall we have dinner, dear first mate?”
Hearing the final address spoken almost word by word, Caine suddenly snapped to attention.
He cleared his throat lightly, pushed her body upright, then raised a finger and said righteously: “No matter what, one should bathe before doing such things, right?”
Seeing the “cut the act” meaning in the young woman’s eyes, the young man explained seriously: “I know you probably don’t need to, Captain, but I don’t have that ability.”
“I could help…”
Before the young woman could finish, Caine steeled himself to interrupt: “There should be a sense of ceremony.”

Hearing this, Roy looked him up and down as if saying, don’t I know you well enough?
But in the end, she still let the guilty young man off the hook, only teasing him: “Fine then, but I heard the bath is quite large—want to go together?”
The answer was naturally refusal. Watching her first mate flee, Roy shrugged, not wanting to pursue it. With a thought, all doors except the bathroom opened.
The wine cellar reaching to the ceiling opened by itself, several bottles of wine to the young woman’s taste and corresponding crystal glasses floated and swayed across the great hall.
Then came old books she wasn’t interested in but thought might ease the young man’s tension.
Only after they had all swept across the hall and flown into a spacious bedroom that seemed delicate and miniature within this room did Roy nod satisfactorily.
Before entering the bedroom, she looked back toward the bathroom, listening to the sound of entering water that had finally started after so long, listening to it harmonize with the soft rain sounds into a gentle night song. Not a trace of mischief remained on her face.
Only tenderness remained, and love that was rarely shown but no less than his.
Back then, when she told little Cecilia “My God, he’s really fallen in love with me,” her emotions were as tangled as thread, and she felt somewhat helpless. But now…
She could finally say those words to herself: My God, you’ve really fallen in love with him.
How wonderful and… reassuring.
Smiling, though it was completely unnecessary, Roy still lightly blew a breath. Thus all the candles lit in advance throughout the room except the bathroom hid their light.
There—just like he said, a sense of ceremony.
