Chapter 47: The Intelligent Zombie

Stunned.

At this moment, Shido Koichi stood frozen in place, his face full of disbelief. Not only him, but even the group of students behind him looked blankly.

“What… what did you say?” When he regained his senses, Shido Koichi’s face suddenly became fierce and grim. This damn Wei Ziqing was just a new teacher; how dared he tell him to get off the bus?

Was he fucking looking for death?

Thinking of this, Shido Koichi’s expression grew hideous. In his anger, he tried to rush forward and grab Wei Ziqing, wanting to throw him off the bus to give the people on board a warning!

“Looking for death!”

Wei Ziqing sneered. He had kindly asked him to leave the bus, which was already giving him face. Now that he dared to attack him, he was truly seeking death.

A flash of killing intent appeared in his eyes. He was about to move and cripple Shido Koichi, but a sound moved faster than him. With a “shoo” sound, something flew right past Wei Ziqing.

Immediately, Shido Koichi, who had been rushing toward Wei Ziqing, let out a scream. He suddenly collapsed to the ground, wailing in pain.

Wei Ziqing turned to look and a small smile appeared at the corner of his mouth. He saw Hirano holding an air gun filled with ammunition from some unknown source, pointing it at Shido Koichi.

Seeing Wei Ziqing look over, Hirano grinned and said to Shido, “Teacher Shido, I accidentally aimed wrong just now. I was thinking that the next shot might accidentally hit your head too!”

Could Hirano’s marksmanship be so accurate that he made a mistake?

Looking at the wound on Shido Koichi’s foot, Wei Ziqing immediately understood. He had not expected that Hirano was also a complex person!

“You… you all…”

Shido Koichi’s face was full of painful distortion. He glared viciously at Wei Ziqing and the others, but he no longer dared to move. He had to grit his teeth and get off the bus under their threat, and the few students followed behind him!

Watching Shido Koichi and the others leave the bus, Wei Ziqing signaled Kikukawa Shizuka to continue driving. Then, he walked to the Fatty Hirano and patted his shoulder, saying, “Hirano, well done!”

“Hehe, not really!” Hirano nodded somewhat shyly, but his chest was puffed out straight. He thought to himself, who said otaku had no spring? Wasn’t this Apocalypse exactly the spring for an otaku like him?

“You didn’t do well at all!” Hearing this, Miyamoto Rei complained dissatisfiedly, “Why didn’t you just kill him just now? Why did you let a piece of scum like that go!”

“He already killed him!” Before Hirano could speak, Busujima Saeko, who was sitting by the window, spoke up.

“What do you mean?” Once these words were spoken, everyone became puzzled, except for Busujima Saeko, Wei Ziqing, and the honest-looking Hirano who was scratching his head.

“Could it be…” Takagi’s face changed. She quickly rushed to the window and looked at where Shido Koichi had been. There, she saw Shido Koichi dragging his heavily injured leg, trying desperately to escape, but countless zombies seemed attracted to him and pounced on him frantically.

Screams erupted from his mouth, but he was instantly buried by the Zombie Horde.

“That shot just now made it inconvenient for Shido Koichi to move. Once he got off the bus, he only had one path: death. He couldn’t escape at all. So, it can be said that Hirano killed him, though he used other hands to do it!”

Wei Ziqing said indifferently, but as he looked at the others, his gaze became quite solemn.

This group of children had still been students just a few hours ago, but in a short time, every one of them had become incredibly mature, whether in their actions or their minds.

The Apocalypse brought not only destruction, but more growth!

“Well done!” Hearing Wei Ziqing’s words, Takagi patted Hirano’s shoulder with satisfaction, “I didn’t expect that although you are a dead otaku, your intelligence is quite good!”

Miyamoto Rei clenched her fists and let out a heavy sigh of relief. Shido Koichi’s death was what she wanted to see most. She now looked at Hirano with a touched expression.

Busujima Saeko continued to sit by the window looking at the scenery. Only Little Takashi’s expression changed, and finally, he let out a heavy sigh.

He still could not bear to watch Shido Koichi die right in front of him!

Wei Ziqing sat beside Busujima Saeko, silently taking in the scene, especially the expression on Little Takashi’s face. He knew what he was thinking.

“In the world of the Apocalypse, human hearts have completely changed. If you do not kill him, he will bite you back the moment he finds a sliver of opportunity. Little Takashi, oh Little Takashi, if your heart of mercy does not change, I fear you won’t survive for long!”

Wei Ziqing sighed inwardly. This world was different from Divine Condor; this was a world where the strong preyed on the weak!

To survive in this world, mercy and pity had to be abandoned!

The bus cabin became eerily quiet. Everyone sat silently in their seats without speaking. According to the original plot, a few people went to the city bridge, but it had already been closed.

Helpless, they decided to go to the rented room of Kikukawa Shizuka’s friend to rest for the night.

After all, night was approaching.

And night was the true paradise for zombies!

“Oh no, there is no road ahead!” Just then, the school bus suddenly stopped. Kikukawa Shizuka spoke in a dazed voice, looking blankly at Wei Ziqing and the others.

They had arrived at an extremely narrow path, and the school bus simply could not pass through it.

“Teacher, what should we do?” The bus could not pass, and among them, only Wei Ziqing had the highest strength. Everyone immediately looked toward him.

“No more road, huh?” Wei Ziqing scratched his head helplessly. This place was only a few hundred meters’ straight-line distance from Shizuka’s friend’s house. Since that was the case, there was only one way!

“Abandon the car and go on foot. Let’s try to reach the destination before dark, and then, sleep!”

“Okay!”

Walking was inevitable, but they were not worried. With Senior Busujima Saeko and Teacher Wei present, they did not need to fear a group of zombies!

Relying solely on a group of zombies without intelligence, what kind of damage could they possibly cause?

Seeing the appearance of Wei Ziqing’s group of six, a group of zombies seemed tempted by food and constantly surrounded them, but Wei Ziqing and the others were not afraid.

Not to mention that Busujima Saeko had been trained by Wei Ziqing and had almost mastered the Six Killing Styles; this group of zombies could not cause any harm.

Moreover, Wei Ziqing was a Half-Step Innate existence. Even without using Astral Qi, before the zombies could get close, he split them open with a casual sword strike, as easily as a knife cutting through tofu!

He once again casually raised his sword, wanting to kill a zombie that was approaching. But this time, Wei Ziqing actually missed; instead, the zombie dodged it!

“How is that possible?” Wei Ziqing’s face changed. These zombies moved slowly and had no intelligence. Although it was just a casual sword strike, they shouldn’t have been able to dodge it. Had he just not been paying attention?

He swung his sword casually again. This time, Wei Ziqing’s eyes suddenly widened. What did he see?

The zombie that was supposed to be hit by his sword actually twisted its head away. Not only that, it even showed a fierce smile toward Wei Ziqing. That smile looked incredibly eerie, as if it were mocking Wei Ziqing!

Zombies could dodge now? And they could smile?

How was this possible!

Wei Ziqing’s face was full of disbelief, but he had to believe it because this scene had happened right before his eyes.

In other words, this zombie had developed intelligence!
