Chapter 5: Accidentally Obtaining the Innate Skill
Chapter 5: Accidentally Obtaining the Innate Skill
“What? You said that smelly Daoist Zhao Zhijing wants you to organize books in the Scripture Library? And you have to handle the kitchen chores too?”
Little Yang Guo looked at Wei Ziqing with a shocked face, his expression full of disbelief.
“Yes!”
Wei Ziqing looked at Little Yang Guo, feeling somewhat speechless. Was it necessary to make such a big deal out of it?
“Just a ‘yes’? Senior Brother Wei, do you know what this means? You came to Chongyang Palace to learn martial arts, but that smelly Daoist Zhao Zhijing has made you a Menial Disciple. You will never be able to learn martial arts again!”
“So what? Should I refuse?” Wei Ziqing asked back, glancing indifferently at Little Yang Guo.
Seeing that Wei Ziqing did not care, Little Yang Guo pouted angrily and then stopped talking. If it weren’t for the influence of Uncle Guo, he wouldn’t even bother to care about him!
Wei Ziqing also knew that Yang Guo was worrying about him.
However, truthfully, he was twenty years old, yet he was being cared for by a fifteen-year-old kid. Even though Yang Guo was the protagonist of this world, Wei Ziqing still found it a bit strange.
But when he saw the bruises on Yang Guo’s face, he paused, then stood up and took a porcelain bottle from a nearby box and threw it next to Yang Guo.
“Some things should be endured if possible. You are still a child; you cannot beat them. Instead of causing trouble and getting hurt, it is better to be patient. There is nothing that cannot be overcome!”
Looking at the porcelain bottle Wei Ziqing threw over, Yang Guo was first stunned, and then his rebellious eyes became a bit moist. However, he still said stubbornly:
“Who wants your gold sore medicine? I’m telling you, those smelly Daoists of the Quanzhen Sect hit me a few times today, but I will definitely pay them back ten times or a hundred times in the future!”
Wei Ziqing smiled and said nothing more. Forget about Yang Guo, even he, as an adult, felt unhappy with the people of the Quanzhen Sect; how could the boy easily listen to his words?
…
“Damn it, where on earth is that cursed pond? I’ve been searching for days, why can’t I find it!”
After being demoted to a Menial Disciple, Wei Ziqing used the excuse of going down the mountain to buy food the next day to secretly sneak into the back mountain.
For over ten days, the people of the Quanzhen Sect had not discovered that he had secretly entered these Forbidden Grounds, but his search for the Nine Yin Manual was exceptionally unsuccessful!
“Damn it, if I keep searching like this, I don’t know when I will find it. The original story didn’t mention the location of the pond leading to the basement. Do I really have to enter the Ancient Tomb?”
Wei Ziqing’s face was full of fatigue and unwillingness.
Mount Zhongnan was so large that searching for a small pond was like looking for a needle in a haystack; it was simply impossible to find!
As for entering the Ancient Tomb? That was not easy!
He was not a little kid like Yang Guo. As an adult, let alone whether he could get close to the Living Dead Tomb, he really didn’t know what would happen to him if he were discovered!
“I originally thought that as long as I sneaked into the back mountain, the Nine Yin Manual would be easy to get, but now it seems…”
Seeing the sunset gradually descend and the sky turning dark, despite his unwillingness, Wei Ziqing still had to turn and leave the back mountain.
“It seems I have to think of another way!”
After buying the ingredients, Wei Ziqing finally returned to the Quanzhen Sect as it was getting dark.
As soon as he entered the gate, he saw Lu Qingdu walking toward him with a face full of anger, covered in dust and looking disheveled.
Before Wei Ziqing could wonder why Lu Qingdu was so upset and angry, the other man began to roar at him.
“Wei Ziqing, Master told you to clean the Scripture Library! What have you been doing these days? A junior brother went to check today, and the Scripture Library is covered in dust. I’m telling you, Master asked me to remind you: if you don’t want to stay in the Quanzhen Sect, leave as soon as possible!”
Lu Qingdu was very annoyed; he had been played by that damn Yang Guo again today!
While he was full of anger, he happened to see Wei Ziqing. This kid had an unusual relationship with Yang Guo, so he decided to take his anger out on him.
As for what the Master said, that was complete nonsense. His Master had no time to bother with a tiny Menial Disciple!
Looking at Lu Qingdu’s disheveled appearance, how could Wei Ziqing not know that this kid had been played by Yang Guo again and was preparing to vent his anger on him!
Normally, Wei Ziqing might have been angry, but during this period, he was truly so bothered by the matter of the Nine Yin Manual that he had no mood for this!
He glanced indifferently at Lu Qingdu and then ignored him, walking straight past him.
Lu Qingdu was stunned.
He thought it was bad enough that he was played by Yang Guo, but now a damn Menial Disciple dared to ignore him like this. He immediately flew into a rage.
“Wei Ziqing, stop right there! Did you even hear what I said? Stop right there!”
Unfortunately, no matter how loudly he shouted, Wei Ziqing acted as if he hadn’t heard anything and ignored him completely. Lu Qingdu could only roar on the spot, not daring to use force!
After all, the rules and regulations of Quanzhen were very strict!
The Scripture Library!
It was embedded in the cliff like a pagoda, eight stories high, echoing the mountain gate of Mount Zhongnan from afar.
Here, the Quanzhen Sect collected countless Daoist classics and a variety of martial arts manuals.
Unfortunately, Wei Ziqing had no hope for martial arts, because the martial arts manuals were hidden above the seventh floor, where Ma Yu, Hao Datong, and others of the Seven Masters of Quanzhen lived and guarded year-round.
As usual, Wei Ziqing was organizing the dusty Daoist scriptures on the fifth floor. Perhaps because he had failed to find the entrance in the back mountain recently, Wei Ziqing became absent-minded and accidentally knocked a pile of scriptures he had just organized onto the ground.
“Damn it, I just finished organizing them, and now I have to do it again!” Looking at the scriptures scattered all over the floor, Wei Ziqing crouched down helplessly, preparing to reorganize them.
However, at that moment, by the dim candlelight, he vaguely saw that one of the Daoist scriptures scattered on the ground seemed a bit different. Under the light of the candle, a faint outline appeared on the open page.
Seeing this, Wei Ziqing was first stunned, then he carefully opened the Tao Te Ching and couldn’t help but exclaim, “There is actually a hidden layer in the pages of this Tao Te Ching!”
An hour later!
That copy of the Tao Te Ching had already been damaged beyond recognition, but Wei Ziqing didn’t care about the book at all. Instead, he stared wide-eyed at the dozen or so pages in his hand, which were as thin as could be!
Years ago, Jueyuan had accidentally discovered the pages of the Nine Yang Divine Skill in a hidden layer of the Lankavatara Sutra.
What Wei Ziqing didn’t expect was that today, he would be so similar to Jueyuan, discovering an internal strength manual that had disappeared along with Wang Chongyang from the Tao Te Ching:
The Innate Skill!!!!!!!!
