Chapter 377: Ranking Begins

"Buzz—buzz—buzz—"

Zeng Ru looked at the Information Component vibrating on her wrist, her breathing growing ragged.

She didn't even need to look to know who was calling.

These damn bastards. Usually, getting them to do anything was like dealing with severe constipation—dragging on forever with no result—but the second a little trouble popped up, they panicked faster than anyone.

"A bunch of stupid fucking pigs!"

She opened the Information Component, her crimson eyes sweeping across the screen. She quickly filtered out one irrelevant name after another.

These were all people she could afford to offend. What truly concerned her was whether anyone she couldn't afford to anger had called.

Suddenly, her gaze froze. She saw a name.

Without a second of hesitation, she frantically accepted the call.

"Father."

As soon as she spoke, her voice trembled uncontrollably.

"Handle it."

That single sentence was all he left before the call disconnected.

Several seconds passed before Zeng Ru finally seemed to snap out of the trance brought on by that freezing voice, her pupils regaining their focus.

She raised her hand and dialed another number, bringing her mouth close to the Information Component.

"Uncle Su, handle this for me. I'll activate the family's star cluster system to help you as quickly as possible. This... this is an order from 'Father.'"

"Understood, Director Zeng."

"..."

"..."

The call ended.

Still looking somewhat dazed, Zeng Ru walked into the temporary bedroom attached to her office, stopped before the mirror next to the bathroom, and stared at her reflection.

At some point, her dyed white-pink hair had become completely drenched in sweat, plastered against her skin as though she had been caught in a torrential downpour.

"Ah!!!"

Staring at herself in the mirror, she suddenly let out a hysterical shriek and smashed her fist into the glass.

Shards of the mirror exploded outward.

Having done that, she returned to her desk and sat down, her gaze entirely clear once again.

A glint of madness now flashed in her crimson eyes.

That was right. It wasn't over yet. With Uncle Su stepping in, there was still room to salvage this.

Besides, that man had only called to warn her; he hadn't said he was abandoning her just yet.

Her expression turned vicious as she stared at the screen. She only hoped the Yan Jing on the monitor would be a bit greedier. Ten minutes. She only needed ten minutes for the family's star cluster system to pinpoint the man's location.

Gradually, however, she realized something was wrong.

Yan Jing's pace was actually speeding up!

...

After receiving the message from Xiao Xin, Yan Jing abandoned the thought of farming more Sin Value.

He didn't even need to think about it; this "Uncle Su" was undoubtedly a Sixth Tier existence.

He didn't really care too much, as the system had already notified him that he could exit the Dungeon at any time.

But since this was a Supreme Status Dungeon, he naturally wanted to take as much as possible.

Without further hesitation, he walked right up to the four people lying on the ground, ready to bring the knife down like a fishmonger at a market.

"Alright, thank you all for voting. Now, based on the density of the comments I'm seeing, let's begin the contest for ninth place!"

The moment he said this, the crowd erupted into another flurry of curses.

Comment density? Didn't that just mean whoever tipped the most right now?! Why hadn't he said that earlier? They had already been tipping for several minutes!

This guy was still trying to milk them for all they were worth even at a time like this. He was utterly, unfathomably shameless!

However, despite the cursing, they still had to tip. After all, the sunk cost had already been paid.

For a moment, the comments surged even more fiercely.

Yan Jing stole an incredibly subtle glance at the distant sky, then put on a show of checking the donation comments in front of him before announcing:

"Good! The eighth place has emerged!"

"Our Mr. Hacker K!"

Hacker K was a rather young-looking youth dressed in a black hoodie with an avant-garde style.

As soon as the words left his mouth, Yan Jing reached out and snapped his neck.

Not far away, in a spot no one was paying attention to, Feng Qiwen, wearing a purple overcoat, gave a slight shudder.

He was the only one of the four currently awake.

This wasn't because he was the strongest, but because Yan Jing had purposely woken him up earlier.

"Transfer the eerie points and financial methods from your secret account to this one, and I can have a friend of mine in the Inner World fulfill one of your final wishes."

Because of this, Feng Qiwen had originally felt a glimmer of hope that he might survive.

After all, in his mind, as long as the other party wanted something from him, there was still room to negotiate.

But now, watching Yan Jing mercilessly crush Hacker K's neck, he realized something was terribly wrong. His body tensed up unconsciously.

However, before he could think things through, Doctor's neck was also snapped. Yan Jing dug out a mechanical core and stowed it into his Inventory.

Feng Qiwen's heart pounded wildly. Next would probably be Monster, and then it would be his turn!

What should he do? What could he do?

He wanted to live. He didn't want to die just yet.

A second later, something even more despair-inducing occurred.

Yan Jing bypassed Monster completely and walked straight toward him.

"Everyone! Excellent! The sixth place has now emerged, and that is our Mr. Feng Qiwen!!"

By now, the comments were going crazy cursing Yan Jing, because the votes for Doctor and Monster were nearly split down the middle. No matter how you looked at it, Doctor shouldn't have been seventh; Feng Qiwen should have been seventh, and Doctor was very likely fifth.

"Fucking rigged!!!" "Rigged!!!" "Fuck you..."

Everyone could see that not a single word of truth came out of this male human's mouth. So-called ranking by comments? He was just doing whatever the hell he wanted.

But Yan Jing ignored all of that and reached a hand out toward Feng Qiwen.

Feng Qiwen tried to beg for mercy, but the moment Yan Jing clamped down on his throat, he couldn't make a single sound.

"You missed your window, Mr. Feng."

Yan Jing whispered into Feng Qiwen's ear.

"I'm not actually all that interested in eerie points. As you know, this is an Inner World account, and I'm human."

"Mmph! Mmph!"

Feng Qiwen struggled frantically. He did indeed have a final wish that he wanted to see fulfilled before he died.

But his earlier stalling had caused him to miss his opportunity with Yan Jing.

For some inexplicable reason, an uncontrollable surge of fear welled up in his heart.

He felt as though if he missed this chance, there would never be another opportunity to fix things.

At that thought, he forcefully slapped the Information Component on his wrist, relied on muscle memory to enter his password, and transferred a massive sum of eerie points into Yan Jing's designated account.

"Speak. Tell me your final wish."

Yan Jing shifted his consciousness for a moment, confirmed the transaction with Zeng Qing, and spoke to Feng Qiwen.

Before his voice could even fade—

Beams of scarlet light abruptly erupted from the distant horizon, resembling a vast, sweeping shower of crimson meteors that dyed the entire sky blood-red.

They were barreling in this direction at a terrifying speed, kicking up a sweeping gale.

Those crimson lights continuously swept over every corner of the ground like a patrol, and creatures could occasionally be seen dropping from those 'meteors' down to the earth.

For a moment, it looked just like the apocalypse.

"Quickly! Speak! I'm leaving."

Amidst the howling tempest, Yan Jing's hair whipped wildly around his head as he barked at Feng Qiwen, simultaneously loosening his grip on the man's neck.

His figure flickered continuously in the looming red light, his clothes snapping sharply in the wind.

"I have... I have a daughter... in the Great Prison... She fell in love with a bastard. If you ever get the chance to go there, help me split them up."

Feng Qiwen said.

"Done."

Yan Jing nodded, then directly snapped Feng Qiwen's neck.

Then, without the slightest hesitation, he made a beeline for Monster on the ground.

"No!!!"

In her office, Zeng Ru shot to her feet, letting out a subconscious roar, her eyes bulging in fury.

"Squelch—"

The spear pierced through the head, the heart, and the limbs. Finally, as it stabbed into the abdomen, the number in the upper right corner of Yan Jing's vision decreased by one again.

"Goodbye, friends!"

Amidst the howling gale, Yan Jing grabbed Wang Gang by the arm and leaped high into the air, lugging her like a trash bag as he sprinted madly off into the distance.
