Chapter 674: Domain Revelation!
Chapter 674: Domain Revelation!
Two divine auras, one white and one black, simultaneously bloomed around Yan Jing.
Around him, two distinct figures seemed to manifest at the same time.
His left side wore a white-gold robe. Pure white petals circled the cuffs and collar, while wind swirled around the hem. As the fabric gently swayed, the faint sound of ocean waves seemed to echo in the air.
The hair on his left side had transformed into lustrous white locks that draped naturally over his shoulder. Each strand was crystal clear, gentle and warm like jade.
Even his eyebrow was a pale white-gold. That eye seemed to hold thousands of stars, dazzlingly bright. On the cheek beneath, faint runes rested—azure, brownish-yellow, and white-blue. The three colors blended in perfect harmony, mixing without disrupting the pristine white.
Yan Jing raised his hand. Ribbon-like bands resembling digital streams circled his fingertips. This was visualized time and space; the time and space of different dimensions could be constructed or collapsed with a single thought.
His right side, however, looked completely different.
Ink-black short hair barely reached his ear, styled similarly to his original look. The strands, resembling dark jade, trembled gently over his forehead.
His right eye was a profound black—a pure, lonely, and frigid darkness that felt like a bottomless pool.
Black, crack-like lines spread across that cheek. They were blood vessels, but the blood flowing through them was not red; it was as pitch-black as the night. Faintly, countless terrifying giant eyes seemed to lurk within that darkness. If one were stared at by those eyes, the outcome would be unfathomable.
Yet this was not enough to describe even half the bizarre nature of his right side.
He raised his right hand. The once vigorous and powerful arm now bristled with countless bone spurs. Lean muscles clung tightly to the bone, seemingly harboring terrifying strength. Pitch-black lines traced downward from his shoulder to circle his fingertips, exuding a wild, primordial aura.
And he had ninety-nine of these arms in total.
They unfurled from his right side like wings. Each arm gave off a completely distinct sensation and grasped a different technique.
But his actual wing was even more exaggerated. When that half-wing spread, it was large enough to blot out the sky. Beneath every fleshy feather lay a darkness that could not be looked upon. If all those wings were to open their eyes at once, the resulting devastation would be no less than world-ending.
Compared to the left side's robe, the clothing on his right was much more practical: a cloak. After all, such a monstrous body could not wear properly structured garments.
Beneath the cloak, however, immortal qi drifted ethereally. It seemed to vaguely conceal a fallen immortal island harboring irresistible paths to immortality and methods for extending life. A single glance could lure a person into another world.
Finally, there was his palm.
It brimmed with some indescribable energy—pitch-black, undetectable, yet radiating an undisguised sense of greed. With just a touch, it could completely devour whatever it met.
This was not the complete form of this Divine Throne.
It could still continuously evolve, provided it devoured enough things.
Yan Jing lightly lifted his left fingertips, conjuring a planet-like sphere in front of him.
Spring turned to autumn, summer's heat gave way to winter's cold. In just a brief moment, the planet constantly evolved, and an entirely new group of lifeforms appeared upon it.
These lifeforms began to evolve under a vastly accelerated flow of time—truly a thousand years in a single glance. Soon, some among them brushed against the Transcendent Tier.
But this was still only the beginning. Before long, the strongest beings on the planet had already broken through to a level roughly equivalent to the Fifth Tier of Yan Jing's world.
They started to explore new paths, feeling their way toward new transcendent powers.
Yan Jing simply watched it all in silence.
A few seconds later, he raised his right hand.
Some undetectable ability coiled around his fingertips.
Ultimately, he lowered his hand, storing that planet Within the Great Curtain.
He had originally wanted to destroy the planet and test the power of Mutation.
But in the final instant, he seemed to understand something and decided against it.
Yan Jing blinked, withdrew the divine aura surrounding him, and then flew off into the distance.
A long time had passed since Advent Day began.
The Domain Revelation had already started.
But he did not let Yueyin participate.
The rules of the Domain Revelation dictated that only those at the Ninth Tier and below could join the battle, making it a contest of overall combat strength. Yueyin simply had too many ordinary residents; if they officially went to war, casualties would be inevitable.
Even though he could resurrect low-tier existences, there was no need to force the common people of Yueyin to suffer for nothing.
While the victors of the Domain Revelation could etch their Domain's name into eternity, whether or not the people actually wanted to risk their lives for such fame was another matter entirely.
More importantly, Yan Jing had a Domain in his hands that was far more suited for the Domain Revelation than Yueyin.
...
...
"Set sail!"
Mao Si stood atop the mast, waving his little paw.
"Set sail right now!"
"Yes, Captain!"
Below, Bobo offered Mao Si a salute.
In this Domain Revelation war, she was no longer working odd jobs. Being right at the Eighth Tier, she was undeniably a core combatant and a bona fide captain. Because of this, she was brimming with confidence, strutting proudly.
"Where to first, Captain?"
"Our target..." Yan Jing feigned deep thought before slowly speaking.
"Is the sea of stars!"
"..."
Bobo blinked.
She would have carried out his orders without hesitation even if he had named the Five Great Domains or the Surface World, but what did the sea of stars mean?
"Idiot!"
Yan Jing leapt from the mast, landing precisely and lightly on Bobo's head, and grabbed her ears.
"I mean we'll crush whoever we want to crush! Got it?!"
"Yes, Captain!"
Bobo's heart jolted, and she immediately gave Yan Jing a sharp salute.
Soon, the Cat Ship shuttled through the Space Rift and arrived at a familiar Domain.
Ruined high-rises lay strewn haphazardly across the ground. Countless electronic cables spread wildly over the earth, looking exceptionally chaotic beneath the gloomy gray sky.
"Mechanical Heavenly Kingdom."
Bobo had chosen this place as their starting point.
She had her own reasons.
She knew exactly where her boss was from.
Now that the boss had given the word to go wherever they pleased...
In her opinion, what did people want to do most after achieving fame and success? Go home, of course!
As the saying went, to achieve success without returning home to show off was like walking in the dark wearing fine brocades.
Among the three Heavenly Kingdoms, only the Mechanical Heavenly Kingdom had decided to join the Domain Revelation, so Bobo made it their first stop.
As for whether they could win?
That wasn't for her to worry about.
She had always trusted Mao Si unconditionally.
"Cat Ship! Everyone! Get ready!"
Bobo stood at the bow, holding a large megaphone.
A group of Ninth Tier experts stood bored at the rear of the deck, watching Bobo arrange the troops.
"Do you think this will work?"
Bai Yue looked at Weng Lingxiao.
Recently, something had happened between the two of them; their relationship had rapidly warmed, and they were often seen together.
"It should. Our Domain has the most experts at the Summit. We hold an absolute advantage in the Domain Revelation, and besides... don't we still have a trump card?"
Weng Lingxiao adjusted his glasses as he spoke.
"Heh, Director Weng doesn't seem to have much confidence in the Captain."
Bai Chen sneered.
As her older brother, he had naturally noticed his younger sister's unusual behavior, so he found Weng Lingxiao irritating no matter how he looked at him.
But Weng Lingxiao didn't pay him much mind. Bai Chen was his future brother-in-law, after all, so he just put up with it.
He turned to the smiling Wen He nearby.
"Lord Wen, what do you think?"
"Me?"
Wen He smiled brightly.
"I, of course, believe in Captain Cat."
"He is the best."
While the group chatted, Bobo finished organizing the forces. She then swung her megaphone around, aiming it at the Mechanical Heavenly Kingdom.
"Hey, you over there! Listen up!"
"Give up all resistance now! Otherwise! We will..."
Bobo stuttered to a halt. Although she had memorized this speech many times, the second half had been rewritten by Mao Si and was vastly different from what she had originally drafted. Because of this, she stumbled every time she got to this part.
"Ugh, Bobo, you're making this so hard." Resting on top of her head, Yan Jing was highly dissatisfied with her dropping the ball.
"Don't worry, don't worry, I brought a cheat sheet."
Bobo hurriedly appeased Yan Jing, then subtly lowered her eyes to check the slip of paper in her hand before continuing.
"Otherwise! We will burn, kill, and pillage! We will commit every evil imaginable! When the time comes, not even the elderly or children will escape! Hahaha! You're scared now, aren't you?! Put down your weapons and shout 'Lord Cat is the best!' It's still not too late!"
The megaphone in Bobo's hand was specially crafted. It could amplify sound several times over and focus it. Let alone shouting at the city directly below, they had tested it before—standing at the bow of the Cat Ship, her voice could be heard clearly even thousands of miles away.
However...
The effect of her speech was noticeably poor.
She didn't even need to observe the enemy's reaction; the fact that not a single person below shouted 'Lord Cat is the best' was clue enough.
Seeing this, Bobo broke into a sweat.
"Captain, it might be because I stuttered just now. Should we try again?"
She felt incredibly guilty, believing she had bungled the opening. Yan Jing had written such majestic words, but she had delivered them without an ounce of intimidation.
But Yan Jing just patted her shoulder.
"Forget it, Bobo. You're just not cut out for this. It's fine, we'll try again next time. After all, it's perfectly normal that not everyone is as imposing as your boss."
Hearing this, Bobo lowered her head in shame.
"I'll definitely work harder next time."
"Enough of that. Since they refuse to listen, we attack!"
Yan Jing declared.
"Yes!" Bobo immediately rallied her spirits and shouted to the crowd of experts at the Summit behind her.
"Charge!"
In an instant, figures leaped from the Cat Ship's deck, plummeting toward the Mechanical Heavenly Kingdom below.
From a distance, they looked like a shower of meteors smashing into the earth.
"Boom, boom, boom..."
At the critical moment, a dark gray barrier gradually unfurled over the Mechanical Heavenly Kingdom. Lights flared up from within the barrier one after another—the gun muzzles of the kingdom's defense systems. Sparkling like stars, they took aim at the plummeting crew of the Cat Ship.
"Will this work?"
In the meeting hall of the Mechanical Heavenly Kingdom, Mechanical Sovereign; Pope looked at Mechanical Sovereign; Prodigy.
As the primary active firepower output for the Mechanical Heavenly Kingdom, Prodigy controlled all their long-range artillery.
Facing the Pope's question, Prodigy nodded.
"No problem."
This was the Mechanical Heavenly Kingdom's preparation for this Domain Revelation—
Something akin to exploiting a loophole.
Although powers at the Ninth Tier and above could not be deployed, having Prodigy control firepower below the Summit level didn't seem to violate the rule. This vastly increased the artillery's hit rate.
The next second, countless flashes of fire lit up within the barrier. Artillery shells, too fast for the naked eye to track, easily passed through the shield and struck the falling figures one by one.
Under Prodigy's precise control, the hit rate was practically one hundred percent.
At the same time, batches of mechanical bodies emerged from the chaotic tangle of electronic cables. In just a few short seconds, a terrifying mechanical legion had finished assembling.
Ranged attackers, close-combat units, medics, support troops, heavy troopers...
Every conceivable loadout existed within this army. Right now, they glared like hungry tigers at the falling figures struck by the artillery.
Once those injured experts at the Summit hit the ground, they would pour out in full force and instantly swallow the enemy whole.
However...
The next second, the smoke and ash cleared.
The mechanical units collectively glitched for a moment.
Because every single one of the figures struck by the bombardment was entirely unscathed, landing safely on the ground.
"How is that possible?!"
Behind the screen, Prodigy was shocked, nearly cursing out loud.
Having dulled his nervous system as much as possible for the sake of rational calculation, he stared at the screen and took a deep breath. The calculations in his mind nearly crashed altogether.
But the enemy's uninjured state was real.
Just as the Mechanical Heavenly Kingdom had "cheated," Yan Jing had naturally "cheated" as well.
Every expert at the Summit had drunk his diluted blood.
"Hmph."
Landing right in the center of the mechanical army, Bobo looked around at the dark, oppressive mass of steel giants. The corners of her mouth twitched up as a pitch-black book materialized in her hands.
The pages fluttered open on their own, rustling as they turned without any wind.
It stopped on a certain page.
"God said, let there be thought!"
Bobo declared. The Weird Energy around her surged wildly. Fragments of runes manifested in the air, exploding with a boom the moment they touched the mechanical giants.
This was the roar of knowledge; only those who could withstand this baptism of knowledge would earn the right to possess thought.
Unfortunately, Bobo scanned the surroundings and pursed her lips.
Not a single one withstood this wave of knowledge's baptism.
"Advance!"
She waved her hand, and the horde of experts at the Summit aggressively pressed toward the Central Region of the Mechanical Heavenly Kingdom, advancing like an encroaching storm cloud.
"What do we do now?"
Mechanical Sovereign; Precision looked at Castle on the main seat.
As the only one among them to advance to the Demigod Realm, the one leading this Domain Revelation was not the ninth Mechanical Emperor, but Castle, who had long since bound himself together with the entire Mechanical Heavenly Kingdom.
"It's fine. Although the commander cannot attack other residents and can only target the opposing commander, they can still construct defenses."
Castle spoke slowly. His towering frame radiated a powerful aura as he comforted the others.
"They are only at the Summit, after all, while my defenses can cover the entire Mechanical Heavenly Kingdom."
"Rest easy. As long as we stall them, they will eventually retreat."
"But... what if something happens to you?"
Prodigy asked.
He was well aware of how terrifying the cat monster on the opposing side was. A few days ago, it had slaughtered its way onto the Train, reportedly turning the place upside down before returning perfectly fine.
"As long as I don't show my face, they can't do a thing to me."
Castle waved his hand dismissively, indicating it wasn't a problem.
