Chapter 252: Advice

As a Fairy, Mikkel could see Bran’s sincerity, so he decided to follow Bran to the top floor, planning to hear Bran’s explanation along the way. But after listening to Bran’s story, Mikkel felt a bit of a headache. Bran knew the Key was exclusive, yet he still dared to try?

“What were you thinking? You knew it was dangerous but still experimented.” Mikkel couldn’t help asking.

“I was mistaken.” Bran was somewhat annoyed. “I thought it would just pull me into the Sea of Magic. It’s not like I hadn’t been there before. But instead, it threw me into the sky. I even thought the Sea of Magic had changed.”

At this point, he became happy again. He continued, “But thinking about it now, that experience was quite fascinating. For a moment, it felt like passing through countless bubbles and seeing countless Worlds.”

Mikkel was a bit exasperated. “Then why did you stop?”

“Because, just before I was about to hit the ground, I thought of a question.”

“What question?”

“What if it hadn’t thrown me into the sky but directly buried me underground instead?”

Mikkel looked at Bran seriously and sighed, “It’s really not easy for you to have lived this long!”

Bran was not ashamed but took it as a compliment. He responded, “Of course.”

Seeing Bran’s indifferent attitude, Mikkel sighed softly and advised, “Be more careful in everything you do. You’re not alone now. With your current strength, further breakthroughs will become increasingly difficult. So, keep a steady mindset and don’t be too impatient.”

Bran nodded. “Okay.”

Although he had his own plans, facing the Fairy’s goodwill, Bran at least had to pretend on the surface to be receptive. He knew this wouldn’t escape the Fairy’s eyes; he could sense it from Mikkel’s sigh.

The Old Fairy Mikkel was too lazy to advise further. He pointed at the huge lotus-leaf stone basin in the room. “Is this water in the basin?”

“Maybe. I’m not entirely sure either.” Bran walked to the basin’s edge and pointed at the Water Pearl at the bottom, explaining, “Ever since it was placed here, this water gradually appeared in the basin.”

As he spoke, Bran reached into the water and stirred it with his hand. “I tried drinking a few mouthfuls. It didn’t differ much from water. Now, the only difference seems to be that the Mana contained in it is somewhat high.

Moreover, it’s like a form of self-protection. Once the water covers it, it stops increasing.”

Mikkel stared at Bran and asked, “You just drank it directly?”

“Yeah, it was quite sweet, without any strange taste.” He added a moment later, “And it probably isn’t poisonous either.”

Noticing the Old Fairy was very dissatisfied with this answer, Bran thought for a moment and continued explaining, “You should know that ever since this body became Mana-infused, ordinary poisons have lost their effect on me.

Furthermore, tiny impurities or foreign objects can hardly escape my notice. My abilities allow me to perceive these things. So, before drinking, I believed this water was non-toxic.”

Mikkel’s mouth twitched slightly. “I believe you can perceive some tiny foreign objects, but do you really understand poisons? Do you know if these tiny objects are toxic or non-toxic?”

Seeing Bran speechless, the Old Fairy shook his head in distress and emphasized, “You must be more careful. Do you know, even those Ancient Trees sometimes suffer inexplicable damage, and their bodies can be eroded into huge hollows?”

“Oh?” Hearing this, Bran was somewhat frightened. He pointed uncertainly at the bottom of the stone basin. “This water…?”

Mikkel sighed again. “Without testing it, who knows what this water is like? Perhaps it’s harmless to you, but for others, it might not be.

However, this environment is very suitable for the initial growth of the seeds. First, place a few flower pots by the door. Leave the rest to me. Don’t worry, I won’t touch that Water Pearl, and I certainly won’t go into the basin to drink water.”

Facing the Old Fairy’s last two sarcastic remarks, Bran grimaced and endured it…

From that day on, the Old Fairy Mikkel occupied the top floor of the High Tower and began sprouting tree saplings there. For safety reasons, he strictly forbade other Fairies from entering.

After hearing Bran’s explanation, Mikkel understood the dangers here. Although Bran didn’t take his own life very seriously, he cared deeply for his companions. He repeatedly emphasized—danger—hoping Mikkel would give up. But after talking with Bran, some of Mikkel’s thoughts began to change.

If Bran dared to take risks facing the unknown, then why should he hesitate when benefits were within reach?

Like Bran, Mikkel did not want to risk his family’s safety, so he decided to handle things personally. Moreover, most of these dangers were Bran’s speculations. Everything that happened to Bran was his own fault, caused by him actively activating the Key.

If he didn’t actively touch it, would there still be danger? Even if there were, such danger should be minimal.

Since he decided to take the risk, Mikkel also let go of his worries. He decided to go all out and nurture as many Ancient Tree seedlings as possible. Seeing the pure Mana dissipating from Bran and Huahua was a shameful waste. He had already made up his mind to plant a circle of trees around the High Tower, so the escaping Mana would have nowhere to go.

Stimulated by Bran’s recklessness, the Old Fairy Mikkel became ambitious.

…

And after being advised by the Old Fairy, Bran began to reflect and decided to live a period of cautious and careful days. He was currently taking Huahua to consult the Ancient Tree. He really didn’t want to wake up one day with a hollow in his own body. He even hoped this was just the Old Fairy’s way of scaring him.

Unfortunately, he was disappointed.

The Ancient Tree told him it was true. This was no small matter. If the Ancient Tree had a few pits or holes, it could still live and thrive. Could he?

It seemed he really had to be careful!
