Chapter 335: Discovery

After the wind and snow, Xirui felt somewhat dejected. But soon, she became happy again. This group of people had nothing to do with the evidence she was looking for. Thinking of the words Fourth Brother often used for self-comfort, at least one wrong possibility was eliminated.

Yes, she had merely eliminated one mistake.

With this wind and snow, the unremarkable Magic Dragon on her shoulder awoke. The strange Soul Fourth Brother had placed inside the Magic Dragon, under the influence of his and Sister’s flesh and blood, finally fused completely with the Magic Dragon.

The Magic Dragon began actively absorbing the Mana that Xirui was squandering, and its body also started to slowly grow. Along with its physical growth, the spirit within gradually grew stronger. Soon, the Magic Dragon, carrying a hint of refreshing coolness, circled and fluttered around Xirui.

The journey went through sparsely populated areas, and the occasional traces of people had no connection to her clan. But why were these people here? According to Fourth Brother, the Northlanders were long-distance migrants from elsewhere. So where did the original inhabitants of this place go? Did these people have any relation to the earliest inhabitants?

With this thought, Xirui began to carefully observe the occasional traces of people along the way. Unfortunately, she could find no pattern, which made Xirui lose patience. She thought only a Scholar might be interested in such things. So, let Fourth Brother figure this out himself; she only needed to report these findings.

So she drew a map she considered detailed, and now this map had indeed been delivered to Bran’s hands.

Facing this bizarre and hard-to-decipher map, Bran racked his brains hoping to decode its secrets. He tried to find something truly valuable from those winding lines, such as relatively obvious landmarks. But the map only had a few wavy lines representing mountains and frequently appeared simple, self-drawn portraits.

The map was not entirely useless; it had its merits. For example, there was an arc drawn across the top of the map with a large snowflake on it. Bran at least knew—his little sister had seen snow.

Yes, she had finally seen the remnant snow. In the remnant snow, blades of grass occasionally poked out their heads, shivering in the slightly cold wind, trembling and making whistling sounds.

It seemed that because of Xirui’s arrival, the wind gradually grew stronger, and the calls mixed within it became clearer. Responding to the call, Xirui’s small feet finally stepped onto the remnant snow, leaving a clear footprint.

Not too far from the edge of the remnant snow, Xirui discovered a rather sizable village. It was not sizable because of the number of people, but because a group of Giants lived there. Even the tallest Northlanders could not compare to them. Compared to those people, Xirui was merely a dwarf.

To Xirui’s delight, she understood their language and saw magical patterns on their bare chests. So she threw back her shoulders and walked into the village, bringing along the Magic Dragon, which was now as long as her forearm.

The Giants saw this cute little mouse, Xirui, and stopped their work one after another, looking at her with great curiosity. They watched her walk briskly to the center of the village. They watched several eager children move closer to her, hoping some child could make friends with this pretty little mouse.

But things did not develop as they expected. The little mouse stopped, and a clear, slightly cold voice rang out simultaneously in the village.

“Can you understand me?”

A child answered instinctively, “Yes…”

“From today on, you are my private property. And I, am your Queen.”

“Based on what? I am the King,” a child retorted defiantly.

Xirui got a bit angry, pursing her lips lightly. “Quiet! I wasn’t talking to you.”

The Giants watching from afar began to grin and laugh, but they soon couldn’t laugh anymore. The children’s way of solving problems was direct—hit her!

A whirlwind swayed and gently circled around Xirui. The children who charged forward tumbled and fell to the ground.

A Wizard! A Giant involuntarily shouted.

Following the Giant’s shout, the last remaining Wizard in the village also moved out of a house, leaning on a cane. He looked over there, seeing Mana bloom and flourish from a small figure, gradually filling his vision.

What was that? A person?

He stood frozen in place, momentarily bewitched by the Mana. Soon, Xirui’s somewhat flustered voice snapped him out of it.

“Can you understand me? From today on, all of you are my private property, and I am your King!”

Some Giants rolled up their sleeves, some children picked up sticks, but the old Wizard stopped them.

“Stop, step back!”

After the loud shout, the old Wizard couldn’t help but cough a few times. Then, with the help of his cane, he laboriously moved closer to Xirui. His appearance made Xirui feel a touch of pity, and the whirlwind around her slowed a little.

The old Wizard finally reached Xirui. Seemingly hurt by the radiance of the Mana, he instinctively raised a hand to shield his eyes and looked down at the ground.

“And after becoming our Queen?”

Xirui blinked, not quite understanding. Perhaps she had never thought about what came after.

The old Wizard sighed. “I mean, after we become your private property?”

“You must obey me.”

Along with a sigh, “Obey what, exactly?”

Xirui thought seriously. A whirlwind in front of her gradually grew faster and colder. Ice and snow faintly appeared within the whirlwind, and soon a Statue appeared there.

Xirui ordered, “Worship her.”

“That’s all? You don’t need any other help or service from us?”

Xirui snorted. “What kind of help could you all possibly offer? Don’t hold me back, don’t cause me trouble.”

A child standing beside the old Wizard spoke his mind bluntly, “If we’re so troublesome, go be someone else’s Queen. I’m not willing anyway.”

But he was immediately hit on the backside by the old Wizard’s following cane strike. After dealing with his unworthy descendant, the old Wizard continued asking, “How much of our yearly harvest do we need to hand over?”

Xirui glanced around but didn’t find anything interesting. “Your junk? I don’t want it.”

“Can you decide such things? Can you let the adults of your family come out and speak?”

“What I say goes.”

Hearing this reply, the old Wizard felt a headache. From which tribe did this unruly child come? How was she not watched properly, running here to cause trouble?

Watching the radiance of the Mana gradually withdraw, the old Wizard’s anxious heart gradually relaxed. So he continued probing, “You can choose two loyal guards from here and take them back to your tribe.”

Xirui thought about it and felt this suggestion was good, so she nodded. “When I go home, I’ll definitely pick a few people from here. But right now, I have more important things.”

Having said this, Xirui felt she had completed the first step of her journey. She needed to keep going. So she waved her hand and left with the wind.

Large and small Giant tribes were scattered across this land covered in eternal ice and snow. But not every tribe was fortunate enough to have a Wizard. So, with her footsteps, the fame of the Snow Queen gradually spread here.
