Family

*honor your mother and father so your days shall be long*

Sometimes, family can be a trigger.

Learn and embrace them from a healthy distance.

Hypocrites present themselves as "perfect" before their offspring.

The whole idea of parenting is to teach your kids "lessons" that you learnt, and guide them through their experiences.

Misunderstandings should always lead to an understanding.

The foundation of building a family should be on quality friendship.

Quality friendships lead to premium partnerships.

Competition within family should be a friendly one that encourages growth, not one that intends to stagnate.

To raise a child doesn't necessarily require a village.

As a parent, take up the responsibility of an "elder" and lead with wisdom.

Train up a child in a certain way and watch him never depart from it.

Parents are early reflections of a child.

Be very conscious.

Spoilt kids can turn into unhappy adults because the world would not spoil them.

Mental Abstraction:

We aren't responsible for the channels (family) we come into the world through, but we can take responsibilities for ourselves and decisions in creating the type of family we want.

We aren't responsible for the trauma and ill fate that may befall us due to our upbringing or the places and people we call family.

Not everything that happens or needs to happen in our family is our responsibility.

Comparison in all spheres of life is a killer of joy. I think we should find joy in whatever our life story may look like.

In building a family, it is our responsibility to teach the right way of thinking and feeling.

GENERAL LESSONS

1. Giving up is the most painful human experiences

2. Open people are continually growing

3. The loss of balance is more painful than the "giving up" required to maintain balance

4.Teach yourself to do the unnatural till the unnatural in itself becomes itself second nature

5. The sources of danger lie more within us than outside, which is why constant self-examination is important

6. A life of wisdom must be a life of contemplation combined with action

7. Worry never empties tomorrow of its problems, only today of its strength

8. A life dedicated to truth is a life of continuous and never-ending stringent self-examination

9. Be sure that they do not love being loved by you more than they love you

10. In a world where it is so easy to feel insignificant - to be laid off, disposable, deleted with a click and unfriended, being chosen has taken more importance it never had before.

11. The more sexually active our society becomes, the more intractable its attitude towards cheating

12. FOMO- the fear of missing out is what drives the "hedonic treadmill" - the endless search for something better

13. Life entails sacrifice

14. Marriages based on attraction and love are often more fragile than marriages based on material motives. Vulnerable to the vagaries of the human heart and the shadow of betrayal

15. Love is an ideal thing and marriage is a real thing

16. The perfection we long to experience in earthly love used to be sought only in the sanctuary of the divine. When we imbue our partner with godly attributes & we expect him or her to uplift us from the mundane to the sublime, we create an "unholy muddle of two holy loves" that cannot help but disappoint

17. Scorned love listens with an unforgiving ear and attributes ill intent to every move

18. Nascent love listens with an eager ear that has a way of edging the boundaries and circumventing the obstacles

19. We are not linear beings living linear lives but dimensional beings living dimensional lives

20. When we channel all our intimate needs into one person, we actually stand to make the relationship vulnerable

21. It is our imagination that is responsible for love, not the other person

22. There is a future you - a you who already exists in the eternal present moment - who is actually calling himself or herself to the more familiar you

23. Thoughts and feelings are what creates reality

24. When we experience for ourselves, or witness in another person, something that we've once believed to be impossible, we are freed in our belief to transcend these limitations in our lives

25. It takes a clear intention (a coherent brain) & an elevated emotion (a coherent heart) to begin to change a person's biology from living in the past to living in the future

26. When something is true in life, that truth shows up in many ways

27. The circumstances of our lives exist as they do because of consciousness itself & the way we think of ourselves in our world

28. Once we have direct experiences of a greater potential, it frees us to embrace that potential in our everyday lives

29. In the search for the truth, you must welcome personal discomfort

30. Life is ever enlarging, redefining & refining

31. Reality is like a map with which to negotiate the terrain of life

32. The more clearly we see the reality of the world, the better equipped we are to deal with the world

33. The entirety of adult life is a series of personal choices - decisions

34. You escape from freedom when you try to avoid the pain of responsibility

35. Self-examination is a lifelong continual activity

36. Parenting is as complex as directing a company or a corporation

37. Choices are responsibilities & consequences of choices are also responsibilities

38. Give an ear to criticism; learn and grow

39. A prophet is not someone who can see the future but merely someone who can read the signs of time

40. Achieving spiritual growth and achieving mental growth are one and the same

41. It is because of problems that we grow mentally and spiritually

42. "Do as I say, not do as I do" parents - undisciplined discipline will not change a child

43. Never sacrifice love for your need of control and dominance over your children

44. Question yourself, speak the unspoken and be unafraid to challenge sexual & emotional correctness

45. How we think and feel is our personality

46. Don't offer any advice until you have listened. Before you fix people, find out how they got broken

47. When something is true, it shows up in so many ways

48. Nothing else matters asides trying every day

49. Do not allow the actions of others define your reality

50. Fear of rejection isn't psychological, it is biological
