Chapter 56: Old Wang's Fate

Under Shitou and Old Xu's watchful eyes, Lin Yan placed his hand against Old Wang's chest. Inner Strength surged from his palm and sank into the old man's body. He did not know any medical arts, but medicine and martial arts went hand in hand; conducting a basic examination posed no problem. However, upon investigating, Lin Yan's expression instantly grew solemn. Old Wang's internal organs had been thoroughly ravaged by a malicious surge of Inner Strength. The only reason he was still alive was that he was holding onto his last breath.

Lin Yan took a step back and shook his head at Shitou. She clamped a hand over her mouth, letting out a muffled sob. Just then, Old Wang slowly regained consciousness. His eyes were unfocused for a moment before he spotted Lin Yan standing nearby. He instinctively tried to tug at the corners of his mouth to smile, but he was far too weak. The resulting expression was more agonizing than a grimace.
