“A late-stage Soul Formation Demon Beast? Why do you need to deal with it? To feed your beasts?”

“That is not it. I need the Soul Return Grass that beast guards. There are at least ten stalks there, and I only need three. How about it?”

Fan Hongfei stated his true purpose directly. Since the other party would find out eventually, concealment was meaningless.

With just three stalks of Soul Return Grass, he could bring his three Soul Formation tamed beasts out of the Abyss.

The Demon Beasts of the Abyss could not cross the barriers between layers. To bring tamed beasts outside, one had to store them within a Storage Bag. Yet Storage Bags could not contain living things; any creature forced inside would simply suffocate. He had already devised a method to place them into a state of suspended animation so they could fit inside a Storage Bag, but reviving them afterward remained a major hurdle. Thus, he needed the Soul Return Grass, which possessed the property of restoring life to tamed beasts.

Originally, he had been in no rush. There was still plenty of time, and as long as he continued capturing Demon Beasts for his beasts to devour, his own cultivation would rise in tandem. Eventually, he would grow strong enough to defeat that late-stage Soul Formation beast. However, the current anomaly within the Abyss Secret Realm meant no one could predict what might happen next, forcing him to make preparations ahead of time.

“Fine, then it is a partnership.”

Qin Xiao cared little about what the other man sought. Having an additional combat force was never a disadvantage, and as long as the old fellow obtained his Soul Return Grass, it was none of his concern. If any trouble arose, the high-level figures at the Body Integration and Great Ascension stages would be there to clear the mess.
