These stones were only for activation. The formation drew its power elsewhere. If starting it alone cost this much, its daily upkeep might exceed the ten million Spirit Stones Ji Ci had quoted.

Ji Ci asked with a somewhat sheepish expression.

He had expected a hundred and eight High Grade Spirit Stones to suffice: a hundred million Low Grade Spirit Stones, with the remaining eight million as a margin. Now even the entire amount was not enough.

“Master, can we not add a few more activation slots? Make it one thousand and eighty and use one thousand and eighty High Grade Spirit Stones. Wouldn’t that work? Where am I supposed to find one hundred and eight Top Grade Spirit Stones?”

He had contracted Diao Niang in October, doubling the monthly output to four. That had yielded another eight stones over two batches, leaving Qin Xiao with only sixteen Top Grade Spirit Stones.

The four Red Owls had raised the monthly base to eight, but that yield would not arrive until next month.

“No, the activation device is already as large as it can be. I built the formation around it. I wasn’t asking for a hundred and eight Top Grade Spirit Stones. One or two should do. Just replace that many of the stones already there.”

Knowing that Qin Xiao did not understand, Ji Ci patiently explained further.
