Only under such terms would Qin Xiao believe this peace negotiation was genuine. If he were asked to pay no price at all, he would never believe the Prince’s Manor truly intended to lay the feud to rest.

“If that is the case, then we may indeed discuss terms.”

Hearing that they demanded compensation, Qin Xiao felt slightly more at ease. Had they brushed it aside with a few light words, he would never have dared to believe it. Such convenient bargains simply did not exist, given the substantial losses the Prince’s Manor had suffered.

Seeing that Qin Xiao agreed to talk, Shen Shu suggested heading inside.

After all, her party consisted entirely of eminent figures. What sense was there in conducting peace talks while standing outside?
