Chapter 337: Competition Details, Negotiation Completed

The Heavenly Dynasty Grand Competition was held once every ten years. Each province’s Governor-General or prince, along with high officials in the Imperial Capital, could select two or three talented juniors or subordinates to take part.

The top one hundred winners outside the imperial family could receive one blessing of the Heavenly Dynasty’s Faith Power. The top ten could also receive viscount titles, and the top three could receive earl titles.

The first-place winner could be recruited by the Heavenly Dynasty as a military official, starting at the Fourth Rank.

Put simply, the Heavenly Dynasty was rewarding the provinces’ Governors-General and princes while recruiting one exceptionally talented martial champion for itself.

Ordinary princes with many descendants would assign these slots to their own offspring, while those with few descendants or insufficient cultivation would offer the opportunity to close subordinates.

Governors-General had much the same arrangement. They generally received two or three slots, kept one for their own use, and used the remaining one or two to win over their subordinates.

Because Qingzhou was weak, Bai Junxiong had received only two slots. One went to his own junior, and the other to the Deputy Governor-General. This was also key to his control of Qingzhou.

As a prince, Xiao Yuande had received two slots, though he had only one child. He would usually use the spare slot to win people over. But the Prince’s Manor had suffered such heavy losses this time that it had no one left to use it, so he wanted to trade it for some of Qin Xiao’s resources.

The entry requirements were fairly loose: anyone under three hundred could take part. As a result, even the weakest participants were at the Soul Formation stage, and reaching the top hundred without Body Integration cultivation would probably be difficult.

After all, someone who could not reach Soul Formation in three hundred years would not be selected for the competition.
