Chapter 824: Striking Directly to Subdue the Pavilion Master

When Qin Xiao revealed himself, the Tiancang Pavilion Master was first startled, then understood. Finally, he steeled himself and activated the study’s isolation formation.

As soon as he spoke, Xue Tianmo attacked.

Qin Xiao was not worried about the formation. A killing formation could not be set up in a study, he reasoned. This was probably an isolation formation to prevent anything leaking outside.

As the formation activated, the Pavilion Master vanished from his seat.

He had prepared for an attack from the black-robed man. The instant the formation rose, he rushed Qin Xiao: “To Catch Bandits, First Catch the King.”

With Qin Xiao in his grasp, the black-robed man would “Fear Breaking the Vase While Throwing at the Rat”—hold back for fear of hurting his master. Whether to kill or release Qin Xiao would be the Pavilion Master’s choice.

Yet just as he was about to lay hands on Qin Xiao, Elder Sun abruptly intervened.

A sword projection slashed at the Pavilion Master’s arm. He could not ignore Elder Sun’s full-power strike, and had to retreat.

Elder Sun’s attack disrupted his timing. As he retreated, Xue Tianmo clawed a bloody wound across his back.

Xue Tianmo did not pursue his advantage. He returned to Qin Xiao’s side to protect him.

The wound on his back was small enough to bear. What the Pavilion Master could not understand was why Elder Sun had attacked him.

“Elder Sun, what is the meaning of this?”
