Chapter 844: Assigning Tasks, Bear Clan Comes Calling

The Immortal Pill Sect neighbored Tiancang Pavilion. Its strength was weaker, but its standing was a little higher: in the southern part of the region, only Qiankun Academy ranked above it.

Detailed information regarding the Immortal Pill Sect had long since been compiled by Tiancang Pavilion and now lay before Qin Xiao.

The Immortal Pill Sect was divided into two factions. These divisions were not based on power struggles, but rather separated by function: the Alchemy Faction and the Non-Alchemy Faction.

The sect was built on alchemy, but it could not consist entirely of alchemists. Its other disciples had excellent talent and advanced quickly in cultivation, gaining the strength to protect the sect.

Thus, the alchemists formed the Alchemy Faction, while those focused purely on cultivation formed the Non-Alchemy Faction.

Currently, the Immortal Pill Sect possessed only four High-Rank Taiyi Realm figures: two Supreme Elders-one from alchemy and one from cultivation-the Sect Leader who practiced alchemy, and the Deputy Sect Leader who belonged to the Non-Alchemy Faction.

Out of twenty Taiyi Realm elders in the sect, fourteen belonged to the Alchemy Faction, leaving only six in the Non-Alchemy Faction.

The Golden Immortal Realm ranks below them were much the same: most belonged to the Alchemy Faction.

This imbalance stemmed from the sect’s contribution system.

Alchemy Faction members earned contribution credit simply by making pills. They could exchange it for High-Level Immortal Pills or Golden Pills.

Conversely, the Non-Alchemy Faction had to undertake far more assignments to earn equivalent contributions, leaving them with significantly fewer resources than their alchemy counterparts.

Thus, despite the Non-Alchemy Faction’s greater talent, the Alchemy Faction had more high-level fighters.
