Chapter 85: Xuanhuan Cultivation BL (I)

∇ Congratulations, A’chen, on achieving a perfect completion of this world’s challenge. You have been awarded 80,000 points.

∇ Side Mission: Raise the Future Merfolk King. Nian Chen, the Merfolk Prince, has become a legendary figure remembered throughout history.

∇ Reward: 2,000 points.

∇ Your current total is 101,800 points.

Miao Lichen wore a faint smile. Compared to his usual calm after completing a mission, he was clearly in a much better mood this time. Twenty years meant little to a merfolk, and just as little to Miao Lichen’s long life. Even so, watching another version of himself grow up had been an unexpectedly enjoyable experience.

That child had inherited Wizard Chen’s bloodline. Nearly eighty percent of his appearance resembled Miao Lichen’s, while his ideals and knowledge had all been taught by Miao Lichen himself. It was almost as though he were looking at a version of himself that had never stepped through the Gate of Transmigration. Yet… the child possessed a stronger desire for power and authority, while lacking some of his own carefree nature. That was probably inherited from his other parent. It was only at times like this that Miao Lichen felt bloodlines truly were mysterious. He even began to believe that certain races could pass memories down through their blood.

That, however, belonged to the past. His gaze was no longer confined to a single world. Whether it was his original world or the countless worlds he had traveled through, he was merely a passerby. Now, he only hoped this journey would never end, filling his endless life with new experiences. There was, however, one thing that would never change. Miao Lichen accepted only success. He would never tolerate a failure he did not choose. Just as he could calculate the end of his own life, yet would never allow anyone else to touch it.

Looking up, he saw the pink egg. This time, instead of floating in the distance, it hovered within arm’s reach. It seemed eager to approach him yet hesitant to touch him, as though it feared something. Even the pink bubbles surrounding it flickered uncertainly. Miao Lichen raised his hand, and the pink egg immediately flew toward him. There was no physical sensation, only a soft pink radiance that merged into his body as though it had always belonged there. The Qixiu internal energy within him surged with renewed vitality before slowly condensing into a solid, fan-shaped pink crystal. Once again, he had stepped into a realm he did not yet understand.

Even so, he could clearly feel his growing strength. More importantly, he could now truly sense Lovely at his side and even access a portion of the power it had unlocked for him. The system had gone from a tangible presence within this space into something intangible. Though he could no longer see it, he could now genuinely feel its existence.

For the first time, he understood clearly that the system had never intended to harm him. Its so-called threats had merely been a way of ensuring he completed his missions. As for what the system itself gained from his success, he doubted it was acting out of pure generosity. There had to be a reason it had chosen someone as weak as he had once been. Still, it seemed the two of them were now bound together. If he suffered, the system would fare no better. That alone was enough.

A perfect smile appeared on his lips as the red robes drifted gently through the empty space. He adjusted his sleeves. After all these years, the only thing that had remained unchanged was this Qixiu outfit, a design that had never appeared in the game itself, yet had proven remarkably practical. Brilliant red adorned with delicate gold ornaments, it was elegant and refine without the slightest hint of gaudiness. He had always been glad he had chosen a healer class instead of the poison class.

Without needing the system’s assistance, he simply willed the system shop to appear. He exchanged 48,000 points for the Sixth-tier Angel Bloodline, leaving him with 53,800 points . The Seventh-tier Angel Bloodline required 96,000 points. The higher the level, the steeper the cost.

The wings behind him expanded into four pairs once more, transforming him into an eight-winged angel. Only two more upgrades remained before reaching the twelve-winged rank. He was in no hurry. Although eight-winged angels were already among the strongest beings in Western mythology, no new abilities had appeared. Fortunately, unlike Eastern mythology, Western divine powers were relatively straightforward. That suited Miao Lichen perfectly. To him, elaborate abilities were unnecessary. Abilities like “God Said,” which blessed through curses, were best left unused.

An angel’s wings served as a reservoir of power. For Miao Lichen, however, every form of energy ultimately merged into his dantian and became Qixiu internal energy. As a result, his wings were useful mainly for flight. If looking impressive counted as a special ability, then perhaps they served that purpose as well.

“Head to the next world.” Miao Lichen folded away his wings. The brightly lit space immediately dimmed, leaving only the red bedspread visible in the darkness, lending the room an almost eerie atmosphere. The final ray of light vanished, and the space became completely devoid of life. Even the system that had remained behind had departed alongside its host. This place had always been nothing more than a temporary resting point. It had never been, and never would be, a home. After all, no modern person would mistake an inn for their home.

∇ The seventh challenge world has been drawn.

∇ Main Mission: Capture the Transmigrator Protagonist, Jiang Lingwen (Favorability 100).

∇ Reward: 72,000 points.

∇ Notice: This world’s main storyline is not unique. Additional main missions may be triggered at any time and side missions are plentiful. Both likely and unlikely scenarios may occur. Please prioritize your personal safety.

In a ramshackle little wooden hut that could only be described as filthy, a child with a dirt-smudged face and a gaunt, malnourished frame slowly opened his eyes. In stark contrast to his disheveled appearance, his eyes shone like a sky full of stars before settling into a calm, icy stillness that seemed incapable of holding any emotion. With a slight movement of his fingers, the faded, colorless clothes he wore regained their original hues. They were a girl’s outfit. The person who had altered them clearly lacked any skill, the crude stitches visible everywhere, yet they were the only clothes the child owned.

Miao Lichen looked down at his slender arm, so frail it seemed it could snap with the slightest pressure. This body was astonishingly weak. Although he was already twelve or thirteen, he looked no older than seven or eight. This body’s name was the same as his own: Miao Lichen. However, in this novel, he was nothing more than an unnamed extra who did not even leave his name behind. His elder half-brother, on the other hand, was incomparably beautiful and fond of dressing as a young lady.

In the child’s memories, there was little besides thoughts of delicious food. He really was just a child. His elder brother dressed himself in dazzling finery like a noble young lady, yet never spared a thought for his younger brother. Or perhaps, in his eyes, Miao Lichen was never his brother at all. A lowly illegitimate son who was not even allowed to bear the family surname could never be compared with a legitimate heir like him. The only reason he kept Miao Lichen here was to make himself appear generous and kind.

Miao Lichen had no patience to sift through the memories of being bullied and silently enduring it all. There was little worth remembering anyway. Children only had so many tricks. Although children in the cultivation world were far more ruthless than those in ordinary worlds, there was little difference in essence. In any world, the line between the strong and the weak was unmistakable, and someone like him, born without a spiritual root and unable to cultivate, stood at the very bottom.

In truth, after his flamboyant elder brother obtained custody of Miao Lichen, he simply handed him over to the servants. Even the clothes he wore had been sewn by a man. At the thought of that man, a faint smile tugged at Miao Lichen’s lips as his fingers brushed the jade pendant at his waist. It was a piece entirely out of place for someone of his status. If this heirloom left by his mother held no secret, he would be the first not to believe it. From the moment he entered this body, the fates of those around him had already begun to change. As for the final outcome, he would be the one to decide it.

Miao Lichen had Lovely upgrade his spiritual root to the exceptionally gifted Heavenly Spiritual Root in the blink of an eye. No matter the world, he had no intention of remaining weak. Since this was a cultivation world, any target worth pursuing would naturally have to be a cultivator as well.

His slender fingers skillfully flipped open the Beauty Album. The novel within had evolved from plain text into an illustrated version. Everything was advancing. Jiang Lingwen was a transmigrator who had taken over the body of one of the elders of the Heavenly Sword Sect . Although the sect’s name sounded imposing, it was merely a mid-tier sect in the cultivation world. Before the transmigration, Elder Jiang Lingwen had always been known as someone weak and easy to bully. However, everything changed once the transmigrator arrived.

Before he transmigrated, Jiang Lingwen had been a dominatrix. Whether men or women, anyone who fell into his hands would submit, and many even became hopelessly captivated by his charm. He had one peculiar habit: he only targeted people who caught his eye. His targets were always either of noble status or exceptionally proud by nature.

However, he had never once failed. Even so, by the end, there was still no one by his side who had truly captured his heart. Then this devilishly charming man, who had wreaked havoc on the lives of countless men and women, perished in a premeditated murder orchestrated by his own family. He arrived in this world and became the “weak and easily bullied” Jiang Lingwen.

Miao Lichen pressed his lips together. Since this world already had such an unusual protagonist, there was little point in expecting anything normal from the supporting cast. Especially those who became involved with Jiang Lingwen in the novel. Every one of them was stranger than the last. His cross-dressing elder brother was one of them.

The novel mainly followed Jiang Lingwen as he won over beauties while steadily cultivating. In the end, however, the protagonist abandoned them all and ascended to immortality alone. Miao Lichen also discovered the story’s biggest contradiction: this harem protagonist was only a playboy in spirit. Physically, he remained a complete virgin for his entire life.

So, the novel flopped spectacularly. The fact that Lovely had managed to dig up something like this was impressive in its own right.

Miao Lichen had never expected that, despite living for who knew how many years, he still had no practical experience, leaving him in no position to criticize Jiang Lingwen. Then again, he had always been a germaphobe, in both body and mind. Even if it was a case of the pot calling the kettle black, at least he had his reasons.
