Chapter 79: Fluffy’s Stand
Chapter 79: Fluffy’s Stand
Chapter 79: Chapter 79: Fluffy’s Stand
Ten minutes earlier.
The elf’s skin was iron.
Gray. Hard. Metallic. It gleamed in the dim light. It reflected the shadows.
Fluffy looked at her. At her iron skin. At her cold eyes. At her cruel smile.
"Fluffy does not want to fight," Fluffy said again.
The elf laughed. "Too bad."
She raised her hand. Metal formed around her. Daggers. Swords. Spikes. They floated. They gleamed. They pointed at Fluffy.
"Last chance," the elf said. "Join us. Or die."
Fluffy shook her head. "Fluffy will not join you."
The elf sighed. "Then die."
She flicked her wrist.
The metal weapons shot forward.
Fluffy moved.
She activated Shadow Step. She disappeared. The weapons passed through empty air.
She reappeared behind the elf. Her daggers flashed. They scraped against the iron skin. Sparks flew. The daggers didn’t penetrate.
The elf spun. She punched. Fluffy dodged. She disappeared. She reappeared to the left. She slashed. Sparks. Nothing.
"Your daggers can’t hurt me," the elf said. "My skin is iron. No weapon can cut it."
Fluffy didn’t answer. She kept moving. She kept attacking. She kept looking for a weakness.
The elf was slow. Her iron skin was heavy. Her movements were sluggish. But her attacks were powerful. One hit could crush Fluffy.
Fluffy was fast. She was small. She used her size to her advantage. She was hard to hit. Hard to catch.
But she couldn’t hurt the elf. Her daggers bounced off. Her kicks did nothing. Her punches were useless.
The elf laughed. "You’re wasting your time. You can’t win."
Fluffy didn’t stop. She kept fighting. She kept dodging. She kept looking.
Then she saw it.
The elf’s eyes.
They were iron too. Gray. Metallic. But they were also... soft. Vulnerable. The only part of her body that wasn’t completely covered.
Fluffy smiled.
She disappeared. She reappeared in front of the elf. She threw a dagger. The elf blocked. She threw another. The elf blocked. She threw a third. The elf blocked.
Then she charged. She jumped. She aimed for the eyes.
The elf saw her coming. She raised her hand. Metal formed. A shield. It blocked Fluffy’s attack.
Fluffy bounced off. She landed on the ground. She rolled. She came up.
The elf was smiling. "Clever," she said. "But not clever enough."
She raised both hands. Metal formed around her. More than before. Dozens of weapons. Hundreds of spikes.
"I’ll end this now," she said.
The metal shot forward.
Fluffy activated Shadow Step. She disappeared. The metal passed through empty air. It hit the walls. It hit the ground. It destroyed everything.
Fluffy reappeared. She was breathing hard. Her mana was low. Her body was tired.
The elf was still smiling. "Getting tired?"
Fluffy didn’t answer. She was thinking. She was planning. She was looking for another weakness.
Then she saw it.
The elf’s feet.
They were iron too. But they were also... cracked. Small cracks. Hairline fractures. From the weight of her iron skin. From the pressure of her movements.
Fluffy smiled.
She disappeared. She reappeared behind the elf. She slashed at her ankles. The daggers scraped. Sparks flew. But the cracks widened.
The elf stumbled. She caught herself. She turned. She punched. Fluffy dodged.
"Stop that!" the elf shouted.
Fluffy didn’t stop. She kept attacking the ankles. She kept widening the cracks. She kept weakening the foundation.
The elf was getting frustrated. Her attacks were wild. Her movements were sloppy. She was losing control.
"You little—" she started.
Fluffy saw her chance.
She disappeared. She reappeared in front of the elf. She jumped. She aimed for the eyes.
The elf raised her hand. Metal formed. A shield. It blocked Fluffy’s attack.
But Fluffy was ready. She twisted in the air. She threw a dagger. It wasn’t aimed at the elf. It was aimed at the ground.
The dagger hit the cracks in the stone. The ground crumbled. The elf stumbled. She fell.
Fluffy landed on her back. She raised her daggers. She aimed for the neck. The one part of the elf’s body that wasn’t completely iron. The one part that was still flesh.
She slashed.
The daggers cut through. Blood sprayed. The elf screamed.
Fluffy jumped back. She landed on the ground. She was breathing hard. Her daggers were bloody.
The elf was on her knees. Her hand was pressed against her neck. Blood poured between her fingers.
"You..." she gasped. "You little..."
She looked at Fluffy. Her eyes were wide. Shocked. Disbelieving.
"How?" she whispered. "How did you..."
Fluffy didn’t answer. She just stood there. Her daggers were ready. Her body was tense.
The elf laughed. A wet, gurgling laugh.
"You’re a combat genius," she said. "For a rabbit folk."
Fluffy tilted her head. "Fluffy is just Fluffy."
The elf coughed. Blood splattered on the ground.
"You’re strong," she said. "Stronger than I expected. But you’re still naive."
She reached into her pocket. She pulled out a crystal. It was red. Shiny. Glowing.
"Regenerate," she whispered.
She crushed the crystal.
Red light exploded outward. It swirled around her. It entered her body. It healed her wounds. It fixed her neck. It restored her iron skin.
She stood up. She smiled.
"Now," she said. "Let’s try this again."
Fluffy stared at her. At her restored body. At her glowing eyes. At her cruel smile.
Fluffy was tired. Her mana was almost gone. Her body was aching. But she didn’t back down.
She raised her daggers.
"Fluffy will fight," she said. "Fluffy will protect Master."
The elf laughed. "Master? You still think he cares about you?"
"Fluffy knows Master cares."
"He doesn’t. He’s using you. Just like all humans."
Fluffy shook her head. "Master is different."
"How do you know?"
"Fluffy feels it. In Fluffy’s heart."
The elf’s smile faded. Her expression hardened.
"Then I’ll cut out your heart and show you the truth."
She raised her hand. Metal formed around her. More than before. More than ever.
Fluffy braced herself. She was ready.
The metal shot forward.
Fluffy dodged. She weaved. She twisted. She moved like a shadow.
But she was slow. Too slow. Her mana was low. Her body was tired.
A metal spike hit her leg. She screamed. She stumbled. She fell.
Another spike hit her arm. She cried out. She dropped her daggers.
Another spike hit her side. She gasped. She curled into a ball.
The elf walked toward her. Her footsteps were slow. Deliberate.
"You see?" she said. "This is what happens. This is what humans do. They use you. They hurt you. They leave you to die."
Fluffy looked up at her. Her eyes were wet. Her body was broken.
"Master... will come..." she whispered.
The elf laughed. "No he won’t. He’s too busy fighting. He’s forgotten about you."
Fluffy shook her head. "Master... will come..."
The elf raised her hand. A metal spear formed. It pointed at Fluffy’s heart.
"Goodbye," she said.
Then a notification appeared.
