Volume 4, Chapter 20 – I’m Throwing Away My Shame
Volume 4, Chapter 20 – I’m Throwing Away My Shame
“Why are you staring at me like that?” Anran asked Yumo curiously.
“Emmm… it’s just that you seem a little different from how you looked at first,” Yumo answered honestly.
Different.
Anran brushed her bangs aside.
Oh.
Right.
Because she had gained one point of Charisma, she did seem a bit different now.
Bucket Bro’s car was actually parked not far from his residence.
Just a little over two hundred meters away.
But if Yumo had not brought her here, there was no way Anran would have found it on her own.
It was just a very ordinary off-road vehicle.
But ordinary, common models like this were the easiest to disguise.
“Not bad!”
Anran used the key she had taken from Bucket Bro to unlock the door.
She had killed the man, taken his money, and now she was taking his car too. When dealing with enemies, one had to be as cold as winter!
“Three thousand Bilu. Thank you for your patronage!”
Anran held out her hand, pinching that copy of Detailed Explanation of Swordsmanship.
With a pained expression, Yumo took out the money.
One hand paid, the other delivered the goods.
The money went into the bag through Aila’s hands.
Meanwhile, Yumo hugged the Detailed Explanation of Swordsmanship as if it were a treasure.
With this, she would be able to advance to Basic Swordsman.
She was not far off now.
Once she became a Basic Swordsman, she would follow Anran’s advice and go out to make something of herself!
Anran looked at Yumo with pity.
This child might be obsessed with swordsmanship, but she had really come to the wrong place. In a place like No. 1886, even a Basic Swordsman would have a hard time getting by.

Still, it was none of her business.
She was only a weak little NPC with no fixed home, fleeing from place to place. Where would she find the time to care about the domestic dramas of players?
She would drive this car away first. As for the other car “borrowed” from Nine Songs, it would be best if she could sell that one too.
“Well…” Yumo began.
“What now?” Anran asked.
“There’s something I’m not sure whether you know.”
“If you don’t tell me, how would I know whether I know it?”
“…”
She had way too much personality.
Yumo took a deep breath. “You’re wanted!”
“Wanted?”
Oh.
“So it’s that. I didn’t think even you strangers would know about it. Morningstar really does have a lot of reach.” Anran clicked her tongue in amazement.
“Morningstar?” Yumo blinked.
Anran looked at her in surprise. “What’s wrong?”
“It was an organization called Nine Songs that issued the wanted notice,” Yumo said. “Are you also wanted by Morningstar?”
“Don’t ask too many questions.”
Anran cut her off.
A wanted notice from Nine Songs?
Looks like the fact that she had run away was already exposed.
The only thing she did not know was what sort of price Nine Songs had put on her head this time, to the point that they had actually issued a wanted notice.
Truth be told, there was not really that much enmity between them, was there?
“Nine Songs released all of your identity information. Everything except your photo.”
“…”
Holy shit.
Anran was startled.
Rеaԁ оn KatRеaⅾіnɡСаfе
That was a real headache.
Those idiots. The people on the Morningstar-side faction were still worried they did not know anything about her, and these idiots from Nine Songs had gone and released her information for them.
Any little bit of news spread very quickly among players.
…
“Hahahahaha, heaven really is helping me! Just when I was about to fall asleep, someone brought me a pillow! Now that we’ve confirmed what the target looks like, this mission will be much easier.”
Tailu laughed until his stomach hurt. After a flurry of actions, he immediately posted the information in the guild chat group.
His was not the only guild that had joined the Morningstar side. He absolutely had to claim the reward before anyone else did.
Chief of the Special Operations Division. With that position, he would be able to command NPCs!
The bounty target was very strong?
Who the hell cared?
We’re players. If one try doesn’t work, then try twice. If twice doesn’t work, then three times…
If one person isn’t enough, send ten. Anyway, there was no such thing as a monster that couldn’t be beaten!
…
“Damn it, what are those people from Nine Songs in Twinmoon City thinking? Why would they directly expose Anran’s identity information like that?!”
As Tailu’s longtime rival, Doomlord was in the exact opposite mood.
Anran was a badass NPC who had single-handedly overturned half of a Morningstar base.
You could practically call her a hero. How could they just sell her out like that?
Doomlord’s resident tactician, Tuli Mai, pushed up his decorative glasses. “I think there are only three possibilities. One is that the person in charge of Nine Songs is brain-dead.”
Doomlord deeply agreed.
“Another is that he has a grudge against Anran and is deliberately taking revenge. But judging from the mission rewards, that seems unlikely.”
“The third possibility is that he did it on purpose. He’s using Anran as bait to draw Morningstar’s attention. If that’s the case, then it can’t be ruled out that Anran’s escape was a tactic arranged internally by Nine Songs.”
Doomlord nodded. “Old Mai, what you said makes sense. But no matter what, if we want to win the faction war at this stage, we can’t do without these NPCs. Since Morningstar is targeting Anran, then we have to find a way to protect her!”
Anything that made Tailu unhappy made Doomlord very happy.
And so, for the first time, players from different factions started fighting because of Anran.
…

“Ahhh! Lü Changming, that huge idiot! I’m going to kill him right now!” Sitting in the base, Li Zhuying grew angrier the more she thought about it. She suddenly stood up, grabbed a submachine gun, and was about to rush outside.
What literary-girl aura?
It was completely unimportant now!
It was all because of that huge idiot that Anran was in danger. If Anran died, Li Zhuying would be at odds with Nine Songs for the rest of her life.
She would even go every day to cause trouble in front of the company that published Night of the Stars. If they did not revive Anran, she would drag this out with them forever!
“Don’t do anything rash, Zhuying!” Anna quickly grabbed Li Zhuying.
The minister was not nearly as frail as he looked. He had climbed up from the squad level himself.
“I don’t care. Today I’m going to fight him to the death!” Li Zhuying struggled as she tried to rush out.
But no matter how her long slender legs kicked at the ground, it was useless.
Anna’s hands locked onto Li Zhuying like steel clamps.
“Calm down. It’s not the most dangerous point yet. If you make a scene and piss the minister off, he might just release Anran’s photo directly and revise the bounty terms. Then Anran will be in real danger!”
Li Zhuying gave up struggling in defeat.
As soon as her hands loosened, the gun dropped to the floor.
Anna hurriedly kicked the gun away before finally letting go.
Waaah…
Li Zhuying was practically about to explode from anger.
But at the same time, she felt utterly powerless.
At a time like this, she should be at Anran’s side, taking bullets for her!
What was the point of writing some stupid book?!
She was done writing!
…
“@%&#%”
“No, stay in Nine Songs. It’s better for me that way!”
“But I’m worried about you, Anran. Every time I hear the name Lü Changming now, I get angry. So angry I want to shoot him dead with one bullet!”
“Please don’t do anything rash!”
Anran immediately sent Li Zhuying a text to persuade her.
Rеαⅾ οn КαtRеаⅾiոɡСаfе
She was still counting on Li Zhuying to act as a mole and tell her what Nine Songs was planning to do.
If that “pervert girl” came running over and glued herself to Anran, how was Anran supposed to live a normal life?
Aila also seemed to dislike her. They might even end up fighting one day.
“No, I want to go to…”
“…”
Her head suddenly felt twice as big.
At this moment, Anran finally started appreciating Zhou Jieyu again.
That girl might be a little dumb sometimes, and a little cowardly too, but she was obedient. She had never failed a mission while working with Anran.
More importantly, Zhou Jieyu had given her a lot of money.
Way more than Li Zhuying had.
“How about this, then? Stay in Nine Songs and help me gather information properly. The next time we meet, I… I’ll give you a pair of my worn panties.”
She could only sell herself out.
Anran sniffed once, then looked down at her own pants.
How embarrassing…
Actually, it was still fine!
Wasn’t it just a pair of worn panties?
If she was already throwing away her shame, what the hell was there to be scared of?
It wasn’t as if she was afraid Li Zhuying would do anything improper!
Li Zhuying fell silent for a moment.
Then she was so excited she nearly smashed her phone!
“Anran, don’t worry. I’ll definitely work hard and make sure I complete the mission!”
And just like that, a mole planted inside Nine Songs was born.
If only there were a mole like that inside Morningstar too.
The road ahead was long.
Once she had hidden her identity, it would be time to make a move against Morningstar.
