Volume 4, Chapter 59 – Come at Me Head-On!
“Hey, brother up ahead, wait a moment!”
When Terisa reached the alley, he heard someone calling from behind. He turned and saw a man carrying an umbrella hurrying after him.
“Wh… what is it? Hic…” Terisa shook his head.
The umbrella-carrying man asked, “Brother, let me ask you something. Do you remember what those two girls you mentioned looked like?”
“What… what did they look like? Why should I tell you?” Terisa leaned against the wall, his gaze unfocused.
“I’ll pay you.” The man pulled out several large bills.
Terisa shook his head. “I don’t want your measly money. My head’s spinning, so stop bothering me.”
“In that case…”
The man put the money away. Just as Terisa thought he was about to leave, a knife was suddenly pressed against his chest.
“Gulp.”
Terisa swallowed, sobering up considerably.
This umbrella-carrying man had first offered him money, then threatened him with a knife, all for information about that delusional girl. Could it be that she was not delusional after all? Was she really going to save the world?
As an upright young man, how could he possibly…
“If you don’t talk, I’ll go back and kill that proprietress right now!”
“I’ll talk! I’ll talk!” Terisa surrendered.
…
“Tap, tap, tap, tap…”
Rain battered the car windows while the windshield wipers swept back and forth. Combined with the muddy road, the final stretch to Lunga Town was extremely difficult to travel.
Even so, Anran reached the town before nightfall. It was an old-fashioned town with a quaint atmosphere, and not a single person could be seen on the streets while the heavy rain poured down.
Even the small inn where Anran stayed was empty and had little business.
The rainy season was troublesome enough, and Lunga Town had never been a tourist destination to begin with, so even fewer outsiders would come here at this time of year.
That was what Anran had learned from the innkeeper.
At that moment, she and Aila were in the room they had just booked. After taking a shower, Anran wiped her wet hair with a towel and walked barefoot out of the bathroom, wearing nothing but a loose bath towel.
Tomorrow, she would find Rodney and get a clear understanding of the situation. If there was still time afterward, she would complete [Born in the Rain]. If not, her priority would still have to remain on Heloise.
After watching Aila enter the bathroom, Anran was about to put on her clothes when her expression changed slightly. Her left hand pressed down on the towel to stop it from slipping. The instant she completed that motion, she shot forward as though springs had been installed beneath her feet.

“Crash!”
The glass shattered, and her spread fingers thrust straight through the curtain.
The attack was so sudden and ferocious that the person clinging to a pipe outside the window had no time to evade. The moment the glass cracked, she had only just tilted her head back when Anran seized her wrist.
Immediately afterward, an extraordinary force hauled her entire body upward.
“Ah!”
Shards of glass cut into her body, but her muffled groan was completely swallowed by the downpour.
“Trying to run?”
Anran’s right hand was unexpectedly “powerful.” With a forceful twist, the person she had dragged up to the window obediently stopped resisting.
“Bang!”
Wrapped in the curtain, the intruder was slammed heavily onto the floor. When the curtain was pulled away, a gun was already pressed against her chest.
“…”
“…”
One fierce girl wearing nothing but a bath towel.
One young woman in a raincoat, now looking extremely disheveled.
“A woman?” Anran blinked. “Good. Otherwise, you’d probably be missing a certain part by now.”
Someone had been peeping. If it were a man, she would cut it off. If it were a woman…
“Smack!”
First, apply a stun debuff. Then grab her by the neck and shove her directly against the wall.
“Tell me. Why were you hiding outside in the pouring rain?”
Had Anran not noticed that something sounded off amid the rain, she would not have discovered the intruder so quickly.
“You’ve misunderstood. I didn’t come here to…”
“Misunderstood, my ass! If you don’t talk, I’ll force myself on you today!”
“…”
The young woman froze for a moment, then spread her arms. “Come on!”

“…”
“Heh.” Anran sneered.
She tightened her bath towel, then tied the woman up with the curtain she had ripped down.
The flammable liquid used for incendiary bullets, plus a belt Anran occasionally used.
Hot wax plus a whip.
Heh heh heh.
Anran walked toward the young woman with a cold smile.
“You asked for this!”
“…”
One minute later.
“FMLh…”
Two minutes later.
“Ah…”
Three minutes later.
“Don’t…”
Four minutes later.
“I’ll talk! I’ll talk! Stop hitting me.” The woman was finally frightened. This girl wearing nothing but a bath towel was practically a demon.
“Good. Since…”
“Anran, Anran, what are you doing?”
Just as Anran was about to begin questioning her, Aila came out of the bathroom behind her. Also wearing nothing but a bath towel, Aila stared blankly at the scene by the window.
“I’m interrogating a criminal who intended to harm us,” Anran immediately explained.
Aila nodded in vague understanding.
It did seem that way, but this interrogation looked different from the previous ones. Why had Anran stripped off all the prisoner’s clothes above the waist? That big sister’s boobs were huge.
“Talk. Who are you?” Anran changed the subject before the awkward atmosphere could spread any further.

The young woman said, “My name is Liang Minyao. I was outside the window because I wanted to confirm whether you were dangerous.”
“Oh? Who sent you?”
“Rodney, from Lunga Town…”
“You’re with Nine Songs?” Anran interrupted Liang Minyao.
“???”
Liang Minyao immediately looked startled. She leaned backward, only to accidentally bump her head. “You know? Who are you?”
“I used to be with Nine Songs too.” Anran smiled faintly.
“You’re a traitor to Nine Songs?”
“Smack!” “Traitor, my ass.”
Anran smacked Liang Minyao on the head. “Rodney is somewhere nearby, waiting for you to report back, isn’t he? Perhaps he has already seen me capture you and is anxiously considering what to do.”
“Oh, right. Did you people do anything to my car?”
“N-No.”
“Fine.” Anran lifted Liang Minyao halfway up as though she were carrying a chick. Umm… then, because of the difference in their heights, she simply helped her to her feet instead.
“I’m letting you go now. Tell Rodney that Feilian asked me to find him after I arrived here. He had better come over immediately,” Anran said.
“You’re really letting me go?” Liang Minyao asked skeptically.
“If you don’t want to leave, you can stay and let Aila study you.”
Liang Minyao did not know what “study” meant, but it was definitely nothing good. She pulled her clothes back up and immediately headed for the door without another word.
“Wait!” Anran suddenly called out to Liang Minyao.
“What do you want?” Liang Minyao gritted her teeth. As expected, it would not be that easy.
“When Rodney comes, tell him to bring money. You have to compensate us for the broken window and the curtain you pulled down. If you hadn’t been causing trouble here, the window and the curtain would both…”
“I understand.”
So that was all. Although her eyelid could not stop twitching, Liang Minyao pulled open the door and ran off.
I’ll give you a head start.
Anran narrowed her eyes.

“Aila, get dressed first. I’m going out for a while.”
With that, Anran took an umbrella and left.
Twenty minutes later.
Inside the room Anran had booked.
Four people were now squeezed into the double room.
Anran and a mustached middle-aged man sat on opposite sides of the small table. Liang Minyao stood nearby, while Aila sat on the bed.
“Heh. Didn’t you say you hadn’t done anything to my car?” Anran stared at Liang Minyao.
“I…” Liang Minyao blushed and guiltily turned her head away.
“Now you’ll also have to pay for the tire repair.” Anran tapped the table.
“Rustle.”
Rodney pushed the money across the table.
“This was my fault. I apologize. I didn’t realize you were someone Feilian had recommended.”
Rodney looked apologetic. “A lot has happened recently, and Lunga Town is quite close to Trade Station No. 1. As the person responsible for this area, I have no choice but to be cautious.”
“Have many outsiders come to town recently?” Anran asked.
“Not many, but I saw some Outlanders. There were never any Outlanders here before.”
“…”
Were they Morningstar-aligned players who had accepted a quest?
Anran fell silent. Players would normally never come to a place like Lunga Town unless something was happening.
“First, tell me about the missing Nine Songs team.” Anran moved directly to the main subject.
“No problem.” Rodney nodded and began to explain.
“@#¥#@¥”
Raindrops struck the newly replaced window. Anran propped up her chin and occasionally asked a question or two. As time passed, she gained an increasingly detailed understanding of the situation in this area.
The rainy season had arrived, and the annual storm would soon follow.
