Chapter 227: The Memories You Lost
Chapter 227: The Memories You Lost
I dreamed that I kissed you.
Gabriella told the truth and watched as Isabella’s expression gradually turned to shock.
Suddenly, Creis’s face changed as well.
At first she had been relatively calm, but after hearing the words “kiss,” she immediately shot a suspicious look toward Isa.
Isabella’s face turned slightly red. “A kiss? Did you really have that kind of dream? Miss Silver-White Sword Empress, you must be joking, right?”
“I’m not joking. It’s true…”
Gabriella’s expression was very serious.
If there was one thing about Creis’s excessive straightforwardness and rigidity that was somewhat comforting, it was that she almost never interrupted when others were talking.
Right now, Creis looked somewhat anxious but didn’t say anything.
Seeing her staring at Isabella with a face full of hostility, Gabriella couldn’t help but want to laugh. She thought they were both rather cute.
“I remember now. That was a very long time ago… Mm, we already knew each other back then. I remember when I kissed you, everything around us was black.”
Like telling a bedtime story, Gabriella simply recounted the scene she had dreamed of.
But this story made both Isabella and Creis suck in a sharp breath.
Their bodies stiffened, and for a moment they were stunned—especially Creis.
Just moments ago she had looked like she had a lot to say, but now she lowered her head, appearing to be deep in thought.
Suddenly, she looked into Gabriella’s eyes. Her cherry lips moved slightly, as if she were very hesitant and nervous.
For Creis to show such intense emotional fluctuation, it must have been something extremely important to her.
Could it be that Creis isn’t as cold-blooded as I imagined?
“Miss Silver-White Sword Empress, there might be some misunderstanding.”
“Misunderstanding??”
“Mm! Also, the things you’ve remembered aren’t complete, right?”
Isabella could only pretend to brush it off at this point.
She couldn’t possibly say something like “We really did kiss,” could she?
What’s more, the recent Creis had already started suspecting them.
Last time, that idiot Morphis had told Creis everything in detail.
If Creis didn’t have an excessive amount of trust in Gabriella, she might have already started a fight with the Evil God.
However, overall, Isabella was still very satisfied.
She looked at Creis beside her, and a faint, victorious smile appeared on her face.
Gabriella changed into her clothes—a relatively form-fitting dress paired with warm pantyhose. Wearing them always made her feel very safe.
Before she could even set out, Gabriella noticed that Creis had a face full of worries.
“Miss Creis, did something happen?”
“I’m fine.”
Creis seemed to wake from a dream and turned her eyes back to Gabriella’s face.
“Don’t worry, Gabriella. She won’t make a move against you.”
“Miss Creis, you’re being rude. How could I possibly make a move against Miss Gabriella?” Isa immediately retorted.
“I simply had some interactions with Miss Gabriella for a period of time. We just know each other, that’s all.”
“You…”
Creis had originally wanted to say something, but before she could even get a few syllables out, she stopped speaking as if her throat had gotten stuck.
It was as if what had just happened had never occurred.
That worried expression of hers still showed no change.
She walked a few beats slower than before, her reaction speed was worse than usual, and she spoke very little.
During the meal, she kept her head down like a hibernating robot, not knowing how many complicated calculations were running through her mind.
Gabriella gave Isabella a look, and the latter understood immediately.
“Miss Silver-White Sword Empress, Miss Olivia told me to clean the kitchen. I’ll head over there first and be back soon.”
“Thank you for your hard work.”
The morning time was given to Creis.
Only after seeing Isabella leave did the latter raise her head and walk over to Gabriella’s side.
“Olivia said that we need to strengthen your protection recently, so she let Isa come in.”
“Isn’t she an apostle of the Evil God? In that case, why let her in again?”
Creis hesitated for nine seconds.
“Olivia trusts her.”
“Huh…?”
For a moment, Gabriella couldn’t believe her own ears.
A long time ago, Creis had already found Isa’s identity suspicious, yet she hadn’t made a move against Isabella.
Now it seemed the order had come from Olivia.
Why would Celestial God Creis obey Olivia’s orders?
Gabriella looked deeply at this fool.
“Why?”
“Olivia is your mother. She believes in you and is also very outstanding. She will only put her daughter first, so I believe in her too.”
“Is that the only reason? Could it be that Mama Olivia also has her own considerations?”
“Do you believe in Olivia?”
It was as if she was hinting at something.
“Very much. And she’s also very powerful. If I had to say…”
Gabriella didn’t even think before lightly bumping Creis’s shoulder as the latter leaned a little closer.
“If Mama thinks Isa is a good person, then… mm.”
Creis nodded, as if acknowledging Gabriella’s words.
Not even a second later, she grabbed Gabriella’s arm again and asked, “Is it only because Olivia is your mother?”
“Huh?”
Gabriella tilted her head.
“I don’t really understand Miss Creis’s question.”
“It’s nothing.”
Creis shook her head and quickly changed the subject before Isabella returned.
“Miss Gabriella, have you… already started recovering your memories?”
“Memories, you mean things from a very long time ago?”
Creis nodded. Her reaction was very quick, and her eyes were wide open.
“If those really are past events, then… I have indeed remembered some things.”
After Gabriella finished speaking, she took a sip of onion soup and bit into a piece of crispy bread soaked in broth. Only after she had chewed and swallowed did Creis continue asking, “To what extent have your memories recovered? May I ask if you have any memories about me?”
Creis’s straightforward manner made Gabriella feel both amused and helpless.
But on second thought, it was precisely because she was very worried—perhaps worried that her relationship with Gabriella would break—that she asked these questions.
That hesitant appearance from earlier was probably for the same reason.
To be honest, Gabriella didn’t know how to answer for a moment.
Regarding Creis as a person, she was also quite conflicted in her heart.
Mother? Teacher? Enemy?
Seeing Gabriella fall into silence, Creis also rarely refrained from asking further. She simply waited along with Gabriella.
“Speaking of which…”
After putting down her utensils, Gabriella looked at the oil painting on the wall opposite the dining table.
Gabriella didn’t like portraits.
The only paintings left in the room—even in the entire mansion—were landscapes or street scenes.
And in the bedroom was a painting of a starry sky.
This starry sky was in the style that Isabella liked, because that foolish Demon King had always yearned for freedom.
