TYMRHBDES Chapter 159

The Little Fox clung to Pei Yu’s finger, its tiny body swaying in the air, desperately chirping in fear of falling.

Pei Yu chuckled softly, raising an eyebrow at the little fox before him. “Will you be good from now on? Promise you won’t run away again?”

The Little Fox chirped frantically, then nuzzled his finger with its soft, gummy teeth in a gesture of appeasement.

Pei Yu flattened his palm, and the Little Fox immediately tumbled into his hand, its fluffy white fur enveloping its round body like an adorable little snowball.

Zhang Hao’s heart melted at the sight.

“He’s actually quite cute,” Zhang Hao remarked casually, “though he doesn’t seem too bright.”

“Brother Pei, you were supporting him with your other hand the whole time. Why was he still afraid of falling? This little fox is so clumsy!”

He was about to chuckle to himself when Pei Yu’s icy glare pierced him like a dagger, silencing him instantly.

‘ What’s with Brother Pei?’

‘A little fox isn’t his wife.’

‘He won’t even let us talk about it.’

‘Honestly.’

Just as Pei Yu stepped out of the car and passed through the front hall, he ran into the director.

The director was sipping from a large teacup when he looked up and saw Pei Yu once again holding the little fox in his palm for filming.

He grinned, revealing his prominent front teeth, and glanced at the fox in Pei Yu’s palm, casually remarking, “When did you get this little one? It’s quite adorable.”

Pei Yu stroked the fox’s tail. “I’ve had him for a while now.”

The director’s expression turned concerned. “Judging by its breed, it must be quite expensive, right? You’d better keep a close eye on him—don’t let someone else’s pet steal him away.”

As he spoke, the director took another sip of tea and asked, “Has he been neutered?”

At this question, Pei Yu’s hand paused mid-stroke on the fox’s tail.

Jiang Luoluo’s heart skipped a beat. He glanced down at his tail area, feeling a sudden chill. Terrified, he flattened himself against Pei Yu’s palm, refusing to expose his belly.

A familiar, soft chuckle reached his ears.

Pei Yu affectionately stroked the fox’s large ears, his clear voice carrying a deeper meaning: “How could I ever bring myself to neuter him?”

“Such a beautiful creature shouldn’t be kept at home. Letting him breed litter after litter would be such a waste…”

The Little Fox trembled at his words, its tail quivering as it kept glancing at its belly, as if it were already swollen with pups.

The director seemed intrigued by the topic and chimed in:

“Vaccinating such a rare pet must be a challenge.”

“But I know a friend who specializes in pet breeding. Want me to introduce you?”

Pei Yu gazed at the Little Fox curled up in his palm and chuckled softly, his clear voice laced with a seductive undertone:

“That won’t be necessary.”

“I’ll handle it myself.”

The director nodded without thinking much of it.

Zhang Hao, however, couldn’t help but feel his scalp tingle as he observed Pei Yu’s expression.

‘ Holy shit!’

When Brother Pei’s face, so handsome it could make gods jealous, wore that kind of cryptic smile, it was downright unsettling…

‘ Handle it himself? What exactly does that mean?’

‘Could it be what I’m thinking?’

‘Fuck!’

‘That’s way too beastly!’

***

After settling the Little Fox in a pet carrier stocked with snacks and fresh water, Pei Yu went to film his scenes.

The Little Fox chased his tail in the carrier for a while. When he noticed Zhang Hao wasn’t paying attention, he gently leaped over the edge and darted away.

“Brother Jing, Pei Yu is being such a bully!”

Jiang Luoluo had just peeked his head out from behind a door when he overheard this.

He tilted his fluffy head upward, straining to see.

The male lead of this world, Zhou Jing, was drenched to the bone, looking like he’d just been pulled from the water.

His crisp white shirt clung to his body, nearly transparent, revealing the lean curve of his waist as it met the waistband of his black trousers.

Though a bit thin, he was still quite well-proportioned.

The Little Fox wagged his tail as the person beside Zhou Jing continued:

“How could someone who’s won every major Best Actor award not be able to control his emotions? He kept you in the water for so long for no reason!”

“He did it on purpose!”

Zhou Jing remained remarkably calm, his refined face showing no trace of anger, as if they weren’t even talking about him.

“Alright, you can leave now,” he instructed the other person calmly.

With the click of the door closing, Zhou Jing’s pale fingertips brushed against his buttons as he slowly turned his back and removed his coat.

The Little Fox, still craning his neck, watched in awe as his admiration instantly transformed into shock.

Across his smooth, pale back stretched two jagged, horrifying scars.

The wounds appeared recent, not fully healed, their edges already turning white from the water.

The movement of removing his coat seemed to tug at the injuries. Zhou Jing gasped sharply, his shoulders and back trembling as if he were forcing himself to endure the pain.

The Little Fox tilted his head, asking the System, “He looks so pitiful! How did he get those?”

【 A powerful gay man in the industry tried to force himself on him. When Zhou Jing refused, the man lost face and sent people to beat him.】

A flicker of pity crossed the Little Fox’s eyes.

“Isn’t he the main character? He’s so beautiful—how could anyone bear to hurt him?”

The System’s voice remained utterly flat, as if this were a common occurrence:

【 For the beautiful but defenseless, their beauty can become a burden.】

If he were more ordinary, he wouldn’t have to suffer this torment.

A chord deep within Jiang Luoluo’s heart was struck, leaving him feeling heavy and stifled.

He crouched on the ground, silently watching Zhou Jing tend to his wounds and put on his clothes.

He felt a constant sense of being watched from behind.

Zhou Jing turned, his gaze sweeping through the air before lowering to meet the eyes of a snow-white fox cub on the floor.

The size of his fist, with large ears and a bushy tail, the cub stood with its front paws resting on its hind paws, its hind paws braced against the ground as it strained to look up at him.

A pristine, snow-white ball of fluff, clean and beautiful.

Zhou Jing bent down, half-crouching, and carefully scooped up the cub, cradling it in his hands at face level so they could meet each other’s gaze.

“It’s you, Little Fox,” Zhou Jing murmured, his voice clear and resonant like jade stones clinking together.

He had heard rumors that Pei Yu had recently adopted a fox cub, cherishing it dearly.

This must be the one.

Jiang Luoluo stared at the protagonist’s face, now inches away, and let out a soft, “Chirp.”

As a protagonist who had clawed his way out of hardship, Zhou Jing was undeniably handsome, yet he exuded no hint of weakness.

His nose was perfectly proportioned, his eyebrows slightly arched, and his light-colored eyes radiated a gentle warmth, lending him an air of scholarly refinement.

He seemed exceptionally polite and good-tempered.

“Are you hungry? Do you want something to eat?”

The little fox crouched in his palm, hugging its tail, its large ears twitching.

Zhou Jing couldn’t help but smile at its adorable appearance, his eyes crinkling at the corners. Unable to resist, he gently stroked the fox’s large ears with his finger.

“You’re so cute!”

Hearing the compliment, Jiang Luoluo’s ears perked up. He released his proud, bushy tail from his paws and wagged it proudly.

Understanding the gesture, Zhou Jing continued his praise:

“Your tail is beautiful too!”

The little fox grew even more delighted, wagging its tail with renewed enthusiasm.

Zhou Jing carefully cradled him and glanced around the room. “Are you hungry? I’ll find you something to eat, okay?”

Receiving the fox’s approval through continued tail wags, Zhou Jing called his assistant in from outside the door:

“Call the nearest pet store and have them deliver some food suitable for a little fox—the best they have.”

“Little Fox?”

The assistant’s gaze followed Zhou Jing’s face down to the little fox nestled in his palm. His expression shifted.

As if afraid of being seen, the assistant quickly shut the door.

“Brother Jing, the time has come to avenge our humiliation!”

“Pei Yu has been bullying us relentlessly. Now that his precious little fox is in your hands, you have to bully it back!”

The little fox let out a weak “squeak”: “???”

Zhou Jing’s handsome face froze.

“Brother Jing!” the assistant continued. “How many times has Pei Yu humiliated you since you won Best Actor? Even his fans act like bullies, harassing our own fans!”

“This is heaven’s way of delivering it to us—a chance for revenge!”

“Pei Yu treasures this fox like his own eyes. Let’s beat it up to vent our anger and make him suffer! It can’t even talk, so it can’t tell on us!”

The little fox cowered in terror, its bushy tail pressed tightly against Zhou Jing’s wrist.

That’s right!

Pei Yu and Zhou Jing hate each other.

They wouldn’t actually beat me up, would they?!

The little fox’s heart ached with dread. Just as it was about to slip away, the assistant’s sinister voice continued to echo.

“Brother Jing, I’ll hold it down. You—”

In a moment of panic, Zhou Jing’s hand covered Little Fox’s large ear.

Zhou Jing’s clear, jade-like voice drifted down from above, interrupting the assistant’s words:

“Don’t scare him. Little Fox shouldn’t hear things like that.”

His tone was as gentle as a soft breeze, soothing the anxiety in Little Fox’s heart.

Jiang Luoluo rubbed his tail against Zhou Jing’s wrist and sincerely marveled to the System:

“He’s such a good person!”

The small table was laden with fresh fruit and pet treats. Little Fox lay sprawled on a soft wool cushion, contentedly wagging his tail as he ate the grapes Zhou Jing peeled and fed him.

His bright, black-and-white eyes glistened as he gazed longingly at another grape on Zhou Jing’s fingertip.

His little belly was already round and full, but he still wanted more.

Zhou Jing peeled grapes so quickly!

He was just too kind!

Hurried footsteps approached from the doorway, followed by Pei Yu’s anxious voice:

“Zhou Jing! Where did you take my Little Fox?! You—”

His gaze landed on Little Fox nestled beside Zhou Jing’s hand, and Pei Yu’s handsome, gloomy face finally relaxed.

Little Fox turned his head to look at him, wagging his tail excitedly.

Pei Yu calmed down, strode over in a few long strides, and carefully scooped Little Fox into his palm.
