Chapter 8.1
Chapter 8.1
Math Test (1)
After Mr. Bai Yan left the room, he didn’t stay long and bid farewell to the two. For lunch that day, Mu Le ate with Gu Mingyuan and Kong He’an.
After carefully observing for the past two days, Mu Le discovered that there were two robots in Gu Mingyuan’s house responsible for various tasks. One was a small robot that could be called a “household butler,” taking care of errands, switches, maintenance, and more. It was the same one Mu Le had seen before that looked like a trash can.
The other one was stationed in the kitchen, not moving around, specifically responsible for cooking and dishwashing. There was also another robot that roamed around the house, responsible for cleaning.
In short, they were all essentials for lazy people.
Although the kitchen robot’s cooking wasn’t particularly delicious, it was passable. It could calculate the remaining ingredients in the house, provide a menu of dishes, input it to the butler robot, and then send it to the homeowner. Since the butler robot was connected in real-time with the software on the optical brain, ordering could also be done directly on the optical brain.
Gu Mingyuan and Kong He’an sat together on the sofa in the living room to place their orders.
Both of them were tall, and when they sat on the sofa, their long legs stretched out far.
Mu Le, being a small child, curiously approached. In an instant, she felt like her legs were shorter than everyone else’s.
…But that wasn’t important.
Mu Le leaned over to take a look.
Interstellar language was very complex, but its overall grammar was similar to Chinese. After learning the pinyin, Mu Le also recognized many common words.
She leaned next to Gu Mingyuan and, while he was flipping through the menu, suddenly pointed at one of the dishes and said, “This one!”
Both men froze simultaneously.
“I want to eat this,” Mu Le said, uttering a very standard phrase.
Both men were stunned.
“…Your child has a strong learning ability,” Kong He’an said hesitantly. “The sentence you just said, wasn’t it a joke?”
Gu Mingyuan stared at Mu Le, his face expressionless.
Mu Le: ?
Did she say it wrong? Why didn’t they react?
Mu Le reached out and pressed the “confirm” button on the menu herself.
During her conversation with Mr. Bai Yan, she hadn’t realized that her intelligence assessment had suddenly increased significantly.
The previous teacher had only said she was at a kindergarten level. But before Mr. Bai Yan left, he told Gu Mingyuan and Kong He’an that although the child’s expressive ability wasn’t as clear, her mathematical talent was high. She quickly completed the given problems and even solved a few elementary math problems later, all quickly.
…It’s said that humans are very good at math, and it turned out to be true.
Gu Mingyuan placed the menu in front of Mu Le, letting her choose a few dishes according to her own preferences. He then took it back and placed an order with Kong He’an.
After finishing their meal, Mu Le had nothing to do and planned to find a place to hide and learn more language with the little spirit. But before she could find a corner to hide, she saw Gu Mingyuan walking into his study behind her.
Mu Le: “What’s wrong?”
This sentence was irrelevant, so she just said it in Chinese since Gu Mingyuan wouldn’t understand.
He squatted in front of Mu Le and took out an elementary school math test.
Mu Le: “…”
Alright, does she still have to take the test?
She took the small device from Gu Mingyuan, found a comfortable chair, and started writing and drawing on the screen.
The test was very simple, and she completed it in less than ten minutes. After finishing, Mu Le glanced at the title and realized it was a first-grade elementary school test.
She handed the test to Gu Mingyuan, looked up at him with her round, expectant eyes, and asked, “Is there a reward?”
Reward, gift, money…
These were the first words Mu Le learned.
Unexpected, right? People from different worlds, humans are creatures of materialism.
Mu Le smiled and looked at Gu Mingyuan.
“… ” Gu Mingyuan fell silent for a few seconds, then turned his head away.
Mu Le: ?
He didn’t say anything, just closed the test paper and then brought up a third-grade elementary school math test on the screen.
Mu Le: …???
Is this your reward?
Did I use the wrong word, or do you have a misunderstanding of the term “reward” in the animal world??
Mu Le gritted her teeth, accepted the test paper, and before starting to solve the problems, she glanced at Gu Mingyuan again, confirming, “Is there a reward?”
“Yes,” Gu Mingyuan couldn’t help but reach out and pat her head. “You’ll get a reward after you finish.”
Mu Le was rubbed by him again and became disheveled.
She decided that no matter what reward Gu Mingyuan gave her, she would raise two fingers and say “double.”
The third-grade test was no longer simple arithmetic problems; it included many word problems.
