Chapter 2823

On the morning of New Year's Eve, after Mu Yue and Xiao Junyan got up, they went to the Xiao Family first. After all, they had promised Master Xiao that they would stay at the Xiao Family in the morning and go to the Mu Family in the afternoon.

When they arrived at the Xiao Family, Xiao Shufeng and Xiao Siyu were not there yet.

Although the Xiao Family had been very lively recently because of Mu Yue and Xiao Junyan's engagement party, it was not as lively as today's.

New Year's Eve in the north was different from that in the south. They would eat dumplings today, so Tang Yalan had already bought flour and other materials for making dumplings.

"Yue 'er, you're here!" Tang Yalan saw Mu Yue and Xiao Junyan and smiled brightly.

"Mom, are you busy? Let me help! " Mu Yue saw Tang Yalan coming out of the kitchen and took off her coat to help.

Tang Yalan was very satisfied with Mu Yue as her daughter-in-law. She was absolutely capable in the hall and the kitchen.

However, she still said to Mu Yue with concern, "No, you can have a rest first!"

"It's okay. I have nothing to do anyway. Let me help you!" Mu Yue smiled, rolled up her sleeves, took the apron from the hanger and put it on.

Tang Yalan was different from other mothers-in-law. The more she looked at Mu Yue, the more she liked her. She praised, "Junyan has a good taste. You're so obedient. Only your sister is still sleeping now!"

"Sister has been very busy recently because of Junyan and me. She must be tired. Let her have a good rest!" Mu Yue smiled and said.

Because they were busy with the engagement these days, they didn't have time to prepare many things for the New Year at home.

Therefore, there were a lot of things prepared today. Mu Yue also helped Tang Yalan, so that she wouldn't be tired.

Xiao Junyan also arrived at the kitchen door and asked Mu Yue, "What do you need me to do?"

"Deal with the fish first!" Mu Yue took the basket with the fish and handed it to Xiao Junyan.

Xiao Junyan nodded and went to handle the fish obediently.

Master Xiao, who was holding a small purple clay teapot, walked over with one hand behind his back. Looking at the obedient Xiao Junyan in the kitchen, a bright smile appeared on his old face.

This granddaughter-in-law was really capable. In the past, she had also let Xiao Junyan have New Year's Eve dinner at home. However, when he came back, it was already good enough that he could talk. How could he help the family? Moreover, he would only come back at mealtime. The rest of the time, he would still be in the army.

Now, seeing Xiao Junyan obediently listening to Mu Yue, she felt very happy.

This was a scene that Master Xiao had been looking forward to for a long time. He hoped that Xiao Junyan would become more gentle and not so cold. This was all thanks to his granddaughter-in-law.

"Mom, let me knead the dough!" Mu Yue saw that Tang Yalan was about to knead the dough and quickly went forward.

Kneading the dough required strength. She practiced martial arts, so the dough she kneaded would definitely be very chewy.

"Alright, I'll leave it to you. I'll go deal with the vegetables!" Tang Yalan's eyes were also filled with love. She handed the flour to Mu Yue and walked to Master Xiao. "Dad, are you satisfied with this granddaughter-in-law?"

"Of course I am!" Master Xiao happily took a sip of the spirit tea that Mu Yue gave him. His old face was filled with a proud smile. "This brat, I'm most satisfied with this!"

"Of course, this is my son, your grandson. I still have to have good taste!" Tang Yalan smiled proudly, but her expression quickly turned cold. "Unfortunately, some people don't think so. I can't have a good reunion tonight!"
