Chapter 52: Wandering Is a Disease

“Li Guang!”

“Position: None!”

“Qualification: S”

“Class Transfer: Spirit of Earth · Valiant Flying General!”

“Attributes: Commander【91】; Martial Arts【99】; Governance【34】; Wisdom【76】; Morality【56】”

“Exclusive Characteristics: Flying Radar【When at war, the scout ability of army units increases by 79%, and the scouting range increases by 68%】; Hearts as One【When at war, there is an 83% chance to increase army cohesion and execution, and a 71% chance to reduce the rate of mutiny and desertion】; One Rider Leads the Charge【When at war, there is a 68% chance to lower the Commander value, while greatly boosting the Martial Arts value. The boost is directly proportional to the amount of Commander value lowered. After the boost, the attack probability increases by 82%】”

“Private Items: 20 Silver; Precious Carved Bow ×1.”

“Loyalty: 89”

“Bio: A native of Chengji, Longxi. In the 14th year of Emperor Wen of Han, he joined the army to fight the Xiongnu and was promoted to Major due to his merit. During Emperor Jing’s reign, he served as Grand Administrator of seven northern border commanderies in succession. When Emperor Wu ascended the throne, he was summoned to the capital to serve as the Imperial Guard Commander, and later as Grand Administrator of Youbeiping. The Xiongnu feared and respected him, calling him the Flying General, and dared not invade for several years.”

In Mo Xiaobai’s opinion, Li Guang’s attributes could only be described as “heaven-defying.”

Thanks to Mo Xiaobai’s own Talent bonus, Li Guang’s Martial Arts score had reached the peak of 99, the “SS” level. The next step would be the “SSS” tier. His Commander score was now 91, which was almost as good as Li Ji’s.

His Governance and Morality scores were not high, but Mo Xiaobai saw no problem with that. He did not want a group of Generals who talked about benevolence and morality all day and had to think about whether they could persuade the enemy with words before a battle.

Specialists focus on their own jobs. A General just needs to do what he is supposed to do.

The only thing that surprised Mo Xiaobai, or made him laugh and cry, was this character’s characteristics.

Or rather, the third one: “One Rider Leads the Charge.”

It greatly boosted Martial Arts at the cost of lowering the Commander value. On the surface, it looked awesome. But if you thought about it closely, it wasn’t that simple. Yes, boosting Martial Arts was good, but adding a General attacking alone right after the boost was a terrible scene. Mo Xiaobai couldn’t even bear to look at it.

A lone wolf who liked to wander around would get picked off by enemies even with high Martial Arts. In this situation, only two results could happen: either he died instantly giving up the first blood, or he broke away from his teammates and refused to join the fight.

Yet, the trigger rate for “One Rider Leads the Charge” was already not low, and with the 10% bonus, it was nearly 70%.

“Li Guang, oh Li Guang, you are truly a character both loved and hated.”

Mo Xiaobai felt a headache coming on. How could he possibly arrange a Li Guang like this?

In his past life, Mo Xiaobai had never met Li Guang, but he had heard stories. This guy was not a reliable Historical Famous General. Both Emperor Wu of Han in history and the Lord Players who recruited him in other Planes disliked him. They even froze him out in the later stages, treating him as if he didn’t exist on their territory.

Before, Mo Xiaobai didn’t know the reason and had complained that a Lord Player who didn’t know their luck was making a waste of resources. Now, he could finally understand the other person’s feelings.

Without the 10% bonus, Li Guang’s various stats would drop a tier, and he wouldn’t look so “powerful” anymore. Add to that his habit of wandering around. If a Player brought him along personally, it might be okay. But if they let him lead troops alone, he would likely cause all sorts of accidents. He was completely uncontrollable.

In terms of reliability, many Generals with A-grade qualifications would be much better than him.

“Wandering is a disease. He needs to be cured properly.”

As Mo Xiaobai walked out of the Martial Temple with Li Guang and Li Ji, he couldn’t help but complain in his heart. He planned to ask Dong Zhen when he had time to see if that Medical Immortal had medicine for this kind of disease. If she didn’t, he could suggest she start research in this area, using Li Guang as the test subject. After all, people with tough skin and flesh usually don’t fear taking the wrong medicine.

Of course, this idea was still just a fantasy for now. Li Guang’s problem couldn’t be solved at the moment, but Mo Xiaobai would not simply leave him idle on the territory.

Talents always have a place to use their skills.

For example, the new Military Camp that was about to be summoned, the “Rattan Armor Barracks,” was currently missing a Main General.

Since the Rattan Armor Soldier unit was a mountain-type troop, Mo Xiaobai, Li Ji, and Li Guang discussed it and finally decided to build the Rattan Armor Barracks at the edge of a mountainside near a mountain stream.

Holding the “Rattan Armor Barracks” model and confirming its use, a dark green Camp soon appeared before the three of them.

“Territory Special Building: Rattan Armor Barracks!”

“Barracks Main General: None!”

“Barracks Unit Type: Rattan Armor Soldier!”

“Unit Tier: Tier 3!”

“Usage Instructions: Activate the unit · Rattan Armor Soldier. Village Soldiers can advance within the Camp and master the essence of mountain warfare.”

“Barracks Capacity: 0/500 (Base capacity 500 + Commander’s Commander value 0)”

“Advancement Time: 10 Days!”

As the Camp materialized, Mo Xiaobai walked in first.

The huge Rattan Armor Barracks was several times larger than the Drill Ground where Village Soldiers were usually trained. Although it was empty right now, several different training zones were clearly visible.

“I know the Flying General is more proficient in cavalry warfare. However, since Daming Village is still in its infancy, we have no warhorses and no pastures. I can only ask you to take the humble role of Main General for the Rattan Armor Barracks.”

After circling the Camp, the three of them entered the Main General’s tent one by one. Mo Xiaobai glanced around at the furnishings and looked at Li Guang. “Now the Rattan Armor Barracks is the only formation warfare Barracks in Daming Village. I wonder if the Flying General is willing to help this one?”

“This subordinate will never disgrace the mission!”

Li Guang wasted no words. Although he personally disliked leading a group of infantry, he loved the feeling of being valued. He immediately clasped his hands and bowed in agreement.

As Li Guang accepted the appointment, the stats of the Rattan Armor Barracks changed again. There was now a Main General, and the total troop capacity was close to 600.

Looking at the changes in the data, Mo Xiaobai turned to Li Ji. “Maogong, select 50 Village Soldiers to join the Rattan Armor Barracks tomorrow. Also, bring 30 Territory Citizens to fill the Militia Training Ground.”

“As you wish.”

Li Ji did not speak a word of objection. Mo Xiaobai continued, “Flying General, you may familiarize yourself with the Camp first. Maogong, come with me to build the other structures.”

Li Guang had no objections either. Although he was a veteran of the battlefield, his skills were mostly from the northern regions. This was his first time dealing with mountain warfare, so of course, he needed to ponder it himself first.

After leaving Li Guang to get used to the Camp, Mo Xiaobai spoke as he walked out of the Rattan Armor Barracks. “Maogong, you are also familiar with the Flying General’s name. Do you have any good strategy for deploying this General?”

“My Lord, General Li is indeed a rare and talented General. Only with trust can he fully display his talents.” Li Ji did not speak ill of others behind their backs because he felt Li Guang might threaten his position. Instead, he offered some advice.

In the time just now, he had seen many emotions in Mo Xiaobai’s eyes that should not have appeared.

There was regret, and there was also sorrow.

“Trust? I would really like to trust him.”

Mo Xiaobai could not explain that annoying Characteristic of Li Guang to Li Ji, so he had to put the problem aside for now. Fortunately, it was the early stage of the Plane opening, and most Lord Players did not have many troops.

During this special period, personal martial valor was still very useful.
